  1. I think it could actually work out in their favour though, if Strasburg is ready to return in 18 months that would be around spring training of the 2012 seasons, which is when I'm guessing that Bryce Harper will be ready to go up to the bigs. At least they could hope that is the case.
  2. Well I finally started watching Mad Men and while it's completely not my sort of thing, for some reason I can't stop watching it. I like my tv shows to be fast paced and full of action and this isn't but when I finish an epiosde I turn another one on and before I know it that one is done too.

    True Blood

Definately a dropoff from last week but that was to be expected. Still a decent episode that gets the ball rolling for the rest of the season (only two more episdoes left ) A couple of random things I thought of during the episode:
  4. Little Fockers makes me want to throw up in my mouth.
  5. Trailer for Darren Aronofsky's new movie, Black Swan. If you don't like his stuff you can still appreciate the fact that there is apparently hardcore lesbian sex between Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman. Totally not making that one up.

    True Blood

I'm still hoping for a bigass vampire war at some point, I thought it was coming last year with the Fellowship of the Sun thing but obviously that didn't happen. I still fully expect them to show up again at some point either this season or next to start some shit again.
  7. I'm not into comics really but I do like the idea of keeping a superhero based show on TV. Honestly, I liked the Robin idea the most but there are a lot of characters that can be used. The idea of a Gotham without batman, with villains tearing it apart is cool too, mainly I'm hoping for something a bit darker than Smallville (I got about 8 seasons deep and just couldn't deal with Clark anymore)

Oh man, that last scene was terrific. This whole episode was damn good, with the exception of Lafayette's stuff. I just really don't care about his relationship really, I suppose its helping his character grow but I'm really hoping either his mother or his boyfriend gets killed by something soon. The other great part of this episode definitely had to be
  9. Totally agreed. The rest of the cast (besides Timothy Hutton who plays a good straight man) can be both serious and funny. I just don't give a shit about Sophie. I'd really like them to dump her for someone more in line with the rest of the characters but since she's most likely going to end up with Hutton at some point its doubtful she's going anywhere.
  10. I just cannot believe that studios wouldn't hire someone to just check these things to stop ridiculous situations like these. If some Hollywood exec walks into the room and puts that poster in front of me, I'm telling him it looks like an advertisement for a 3d animated bear porn. Jesus, that's just embarrassing.

  12. Repo Men - 7.5/10 - I always like when a movie has the balls to give its audience the finger and say no, you are not getting a happy ending. Good guys shouldn't always win, what's the fun in that?
  13. Exactly. That would have been so much better, I'm not interested in seeing another ship crash into an iceburg. Maybe something else, like a Sharktopus.

    Sherlock

I'll watch it if I can get a hold of it but the main actors name is the most British name ever. Even thinking about it makes me giggle like a little kid.
  15. There are tons of movies coming out that look cool, but aren't big enough to actually waste making a separate thread. Anyways, Zack Snyder's new movie has a trailer (not the weird owl war one) so I figured it'd be good to post since its pretty much taking every awesome genre movie I like, putting it into a blender and serving the result.

Now that's how you do a badass episode. Tara fucking up Franklin was a nice surprise, that Mace did some real work on the guys head. He's totally not dead though, he's far too cool of a character to be taken out by Tara. I think turning her would be interesting because she's not really interesting any other way. A bloodthirsty Tara running around fucking people up might be more fun. As for Sam, the dog fighting thing was a good twist but I'm thinking that theres going to be more to this. Maybe its shifter vs. shifter dog fighting or something.
  17. I've been bored recently because I've caught up on pretty much everything I want to at this point. I've got to watch Band of Brothers and The Pacific, but after one WW2 story I'm going to throw something else in there, which is where my problem occurs. I've decided to finally watch either The West Wing or Mad Men. I'm not sure which is going to go in that post Band of Brothers slot, so I figure I'd just throw it out here. Which is better?
  18. Seriously, whoever is in charge of getting guest stars for chuck should be given a raise, or at least a pat on the back. Dolph was awesome enough on his own but that list great. Isaiah Mustafa is gold in 30 second spots so I'm real interested in seeing how he does with more time to work. Linda Hamilton as Chuck's mom will be good too, she's talented and obviously can pull off the bad ass as necessary. Austin is Austin, it's always good to see him around. This is the bad part about the summer, all of these great fall series are starting to get stuff announced which makes things drag until they finally are here. September 20th can't come any sooner. EDIT: It's been far too long since I watched Chuck, I totally forgot about Sarah. From what that link says, Munn's role should be real interesting to see. I really can't see her in a serious role but we'll see I guess.
  19. I'm a huge fan of Zombies and Zombie related things so this is totally up my alley. I've read a couple dozen issues of The Walking Dead and its really enjoyable and is a great fit for AMC, since its character driven first and foremost, with a little gore here and there to spice things up. I'm totally going to be checking this out, October can't come any quicker.
  20. It's been awhile since I've seen it but I remember Miami Vice being pretty fun, nothing ground breaking but a good way to blow a couple hours. As for Equilibrium, while it may not be in my top five Bale movies (my list would most likely be Dark Knight, American Psycho, The Prestige, 3:10 to Yuma, Batman Begins) its damn fun and the whole Gun Kata thing that they made up was real fun to watch.

    True Blood

While I don't really like Tara, I agree that her character hasn't really had the chance to grow, since she was pretty much kidnapped right after Eggs death. Even though I complain about her, I think that her dying would kind of suck because then Lafayette wouldn't have any reason to be around and that totally needs to continue.
  22. We still all agree that Brokencyde is shit right?

    True Blood

True Blood is good mainly due to the minor characters and this episode proves it yet again. Franklin's awesomeness completely cancels out Tara, in fact that storyline is one of the most interesting to me. The whole werewolf thing got real interesting with Eric and that should be a good time. I think that they're trying to hint that Crystal is a werewolf, but I think she's going to be something new and they're just throwing us off. Other than that, I'm really interested in Sam's storyline, I really have no idea where that is going and I'm not even going to try to guess. Theres something in the way that the father said that he owned Tommy is making me think that something real weird is going on there.
