  1. Asmodean: Currently has one of the best avatars I've ever seen on EWB. Just noticed how awesome it was today.

  2. If you make it far enough, I guess it'll spoil. I saw ep1 and 2, and it used the actual storyline just very condensed.
  3. Well, it's better than the actual anime. I like it, very entertaining.
  4. Man, for that quality I'd shell out more money to get that person to make a couple more pictures, for to display in your CD jacket. Also, make sure your booklet contains lyrics.
  5. I own a PSP, and am looking for a new good game while waiting for Burnout Legends and the FFT port. But I never played a MG game before, is Portable Ops a good place to start? Will I find it confusing?
  6. That artwork is badass, and I'm usually a person who judges Movies/CDs/Books by their cover. If I walked into a store, something like that would be stand out to me.

    Rush Hour 3

I remember when RH2 was coming out, I couldn't wait. Went to see in theatre, which is big for me. I only go to a cinema 2-3 times a year, I only go for a movie I REALLY wanna see. So I'll probably end up seeing this at the cinema as well.
  8. Digimon: The Movie Sure, Pokemon may have had a much better card game and video games, but Digimon was always the superior anime (well with the exception of Season 4). It's still an anime I watch to this day and still enjoy. The movies far from perfect though. I do like the new animation, it fits the movie well. I don't care too much for the soundtrack though, too "American-ized" to my liking. I would have preferred at least 1 Japanese song in there. And the remix of the Digimon theme song is brutal, and just hard to listen to. The film's split into 3 segments. The first one is an epilogue to the series, and is enjoyable (7/10). The second segment takes place after season 1, and before 2, and is the best part of the movi (8/10). The thirs segment takes place somewhere during season 2, and is the weakest part of the movie (6/10). Overall, it's a pretty good movie (a lot better than any Pokemon film), but isn't as great as the anime. 7/10
  9. ...That was the best commercial of the year? Sad...cause that was crap. I didn't find it funny at all. Though I'm not one to watch commercials, I don't even watch TV a whole lot anymore.
  10. Okay, I just found the novel in a text document, and I must say, after reading the first 15 pages, (for a children's novel) it's pretty messed up. The Tin Woodman is telling Dorthy and Scarecrow his past. Apparantly he used to be an actual living person, and he hold of an enchanted axe. As he was chopping a tree, it slipped and cut off his left leg. He got a tin leg as a replacement. He then chopped off his right leg, and got it replaced. Over time he ended up getting each arm chopped off, his head chopped off, and his body sliced in half. Is this suitable for a story aimed for children? Also, this is 107 years old, wouldn't this have dramatized children back then?
  11. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006) God, this was even worse than the 2003 remake. 30 minutes in, I was tired of it, and wanted it to end. I was fading in and out for the remainder, it was that boring. The torture scenes had no redeeming qualities, well from what I could see. It was too dark at times. They were bland, and basically what you'd expect from a horror movie nowadays. Acting wasn't good at all. Leatherface looked his worst, I hated the mask, everything about him. Which is sad, cause I loved him in the original, and even tolerated him in the remake. I cannot recommend this movie to anyone. Ignore at all costs. 2/10
  12. I heard that the '39 film was very toned down, and that the original 1900 book was pretty dark and gruesome, so they made Return to Oz darker like the book was. If anyone read the book, can you say if that's true?
  13. Ju-On: The Curse 2 ("The Grudge II") This movie was an unfortunate case. First of all, it's not very long, only around 70-80 minutes, like the original. Also, the first half hour is chopped up scenes of the original. This is completely pointless. Both movies were released the same year aswell. With 70-80 minutes of 1 movie, and 35 minutes of another, they could have just as easily made this into 1 movie. Business wise, what they did was smart. Release the movies seperately, company makes more money, so it makes sense. Film wise, not so smart. Though halfway through, when the story continued where the original left off, it started getting good again. It got really good again. It felt like watching the original (without actually having to watch the original), same cast, same level of suspense, it was as great as the original. Though, unfortantly because the first half of the film was useless, that does affect the overall rating. 6.5/10 for "The Grudge II" 8/10 for the scenes only part of "The Grudge II" 8/10 or 8.5/10 if the original was combined with the second half of the sequel Ju-On: The Grudge (or "The Grudge III") hopefully coming soon.
  14. Well the beginning is in black and white, so if that's what you mean by all-color, then no. But if you mean being full color, like not crappy looking color, then I don't know.
  15. There's something I've always wondered, was Wizard of Oz the first all-colour movie? If not, can someone please tell me what then. What amazed me the most, was it's overall look. It had full-colour, impressive special effects, great costumes and make-up, it looked 30 years ahead of its time.
  16. 1939 is the one everyone loves and remembers even though there were lesser known ones made in the earlier 1900's. I love the '39 classic, best movie of all time in my opinion. And anyone who has not seen this movie yet shouldn't even call themselves a human. I always wanted to see the 80's sequel, "Return To Oz". It's supposed to pretty dark, and more comparable to the original 1900 novel.
  17. SAW was pretty good (7.5/10). Much better than a lot of horror movies today. SAW II wasn't as good as the original, but I wouldn't call it a disappointment (7/10). SAW III in my opinion was great, best of the three (8/10). But I'm willing to bet SAW IV will suck huge amounts, as it is the "Friday The 13th" of the 21st Century. And the movies are no where nearly as gory as people make them out to be. I saw SAW I and II in one siti-n, didn't flinch once. It was kinda violent I guess. SAW III I saw in theatres, I sat front row. My friend next to me had to stand up and leave at 2 occasions. I really don't see how or why. Movie violence is nothing, I don't see how it bothers people.
  18. Alfred Hitchcock's "The Lodger" (1927 - Silent) This is what Hitchcock considered his first "true" film. This is better than I was expecting it to be. At this point he was still early in his career. The Master of Suspense gave us a simple plot, a man is accused of a murderous rampage. The acting was great, and I give major kudos to the man who played the "Lodger". He was a very good actor, and even had the "Hollywood look", which was not common during those times. His performance really stood out. Any fan of Hitchcock should watch this movie, it won't disappoint. 7.5/10 Ju-On: The Curse ("The Grudge I") I plan on reviewing the remaining Ju-On movies in the next days/week, and to avoid confusion for myself, I'll simply name each movie "The Grudge #", and I will consider the remake to be #5. I remember watching the 2004 remake shortly after it's DVD release. It was a fairly decent flick. I did like the mood of it. But after watching the original today, it made me like the original less. The film is very suspenseful, and moves at a slow pace, mainly during the first half hour. But it really works in this case. For a direct-to-video film, it had superb special effects/make-up, mainy parts looked gruesome and disturbing. Some parts even came close to scaring me. I will give the remake credit though, it did try to remain faithful to the original, which I respect. All in all, Ju-On is a great movie, and I can't wait to watch the others. 8/10

  20. 6 months from now huh, by then I should have 5 and 6 read, too busy with other novels at the moment.
  21. The year, 1997. I was a mere 5 year old at the time and was in love with the SNES. My brother received another game for us to play. The game: Mortal Kombat 3. I became a fan instantly. I quickly rented Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. When I started playing the PSX, I started playing Mortal Kombat 4 and Trilogy (also played Mythologies and Forces, but nothing to brag about there). Mid 2002, I was 10, at the time a hardcore MK fan, I knew the story, I knew the characters and I was waiting patiently for another game. That's when I saw the trailer online of: Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. I was so excited I nearly shit my pants. I waited month, after month...then it arrived! I loved it. It rekindled my love for MK. Early/Mid 2004, at this time I already read up on all the MK background history. While browsing GameSpot, I saw the preview for: Mortal Kombat: Deception. I waited month after month, I loved it! Early/Mid 2005: Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. And finally, Armageddon. Except I was anticipating this one for a year before it's release, it drove me mad. And it's nice that Deadly Alliance, Deception, Shaolin Monks, and Armageddon all lived up to my expectations. Edit: My Post F'ed Up.
  22. Slipknot are terrible, who would want to see them? And replacements or not, throwing rocks shouldn't be allowed anywhere on Earth. It's just idiocy. I don't see how anyone can agree to it.
  23. ...I never saw any rocks? Still sucks though. Doing something like that should get you arrested, it's assulting someone else. And I like Nickelback, so this is even more sad.
  24. 24 recommendations, thanks for the response. I'll try to listen to at least 1 song from each band/singer. And I keep listening to the ones I like. And I really don't mind J-Pop, it's still 10 times better than American Pop.
