  1. For several years now, my brother has had a small collection of Stephen King books. I always wanted to read one of them. Today I started reading "Carrie" and I think it's an awesome book. I definitly plan to read more of Stephen King's novels. But I'm not sure what one to read next. Out of these books, which should I read next? Any recomendations would help. -Dream Catcher -Needful Things -Gerald's Game -Hearts In Atlantis -The Dark Half -From a Buick 8 -The Stand -Pet Sematary Also my friend owns "Firestarter".
  2. Thanks for the comments Marsh. I think I did this before I got into borders, not sure. And I know the cutting of the image wasnt that good. Its because I didnt use a PSD, I cut it myself. I use to cut out all the images I used. I feel using PSDs is cheating.
  3. Ong-Bak A great martial arts film like no other. Unlike most films of this genre, Ong Bak has no special effects or rope tricks. All the moves you see in this movie are real. Some moves you'll see are mindblowing. The action and fight scenes are the highlight of the movie. The story however I find is not that exciting, and the first 30 minutes of the film are slow. 7.8/10 Black Mask Another Jet Li film. This is probably one of his more weaker movies. The dialogue at times was very cliche and boring. The story was alright, but didn't add much to the film. The fight scenes in this film aren't even that great. 6.9/10 The Warriors The Warriors is a very original movie. The acting, action, setting, music, everything was great in this movie. The only thing I didn't like was that it was too short. A movie like this I thought could have easily went 2+ hours. 8.7/10 Here is an updated list of all the movies I've reviewed with more acurate ratings: Kill Bill volume 1: 9.4/10 Scarface: 9.3/10 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back: 9.3/10 Clerks. :9.3/10 Clockwork Orange: 9.1/10 Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope: 8.8/10 The Warriors: 8.7/10 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi: 8.6/10 Clerks 2: 8.5/10 Chasing Amy: 8.5/10 Fearless: 8.4/10 Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest: 8.3/10 Ali: 8.1/10 Dogma: 8.0/10 Ong-Bak: 7.8/10 Super Size Me: 7.4/10 The Libertine: 7.3/10 Black Mask: 6.9/10 The Exorcist 3: 6.8/10 Star Wars Episode 1: Phantom Menace: 6.2/10 The Ring: 5.5/10 Troy: 5.0/10 The Hills Have Eyes (remake): 2.8/10
  4. Do you not get it or something? You must not be truly Canadian...
  5. Troy Troy was an alright movie. I felt that Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom did fairly solid preformances, and the sound and story was good. I just felt this movie dragged on, and it had several boring moments. 6.3/10 Fearless A great martial arts movie by Jet Li. This movie has one of the best stories in any Jet Li film (close to the ranks of Hero). The fight scenes were very well done. I also found this movie very dramatic as well. The action and drama mixed well together. This is one of Jet Li's better movies. Even though, honestly I've never seen him in a bad movie. 8.2/10 Note: After much thinking, and looking back at the ratings I've given movies, some I was not satisfied with. Around tomorrow or the next day, I'll post the names of all the movies I've after reivewed with more acurate ratings.
  6. This is a sig I made 2 years ago, back when I made a lot of them. Please give me your opinions on it. Remember now, I don't have Adobe Photoshop anymore or the PSD, so I can't make any changes. It's staying the way it is. I found this sig when I logged on to my Photobucket acount surprised to see the images I made a couple years ago. This is my favorite of the ones I have left.
  7. Star Wars Episode I: Phantom Menace I wasn't expecting much going in, so I can't say I was really let down. The acting was alright. Special effects were great, and music was pretty good. However the plot/story didn't keep me interested all way through, and Jar Jar really pissed me off. 6.0/10 Super Size Me I found this to be a funny and enjoyable documentary. I'm glad I watched it. Even though I only eat McDonalds like several times a year. 7.4/10 Ali Probably Will Smith's best preformance in a movie. It had great action, lots of drama, and I just really liked this movie. I'm also a big fan of Muhammad Ali. 8.4/10 Kill Bill volume 1 I saw this movie once 2 years ago, and I'm glad I saw it again. I just forgot how awesome it was. Excellent story, excellent music, great acting, lots of action. One of the best movies I've ever seen. I also loved Go Go Yubari, she's my hero. 9.2/10 Expect a review for Troy around tomorrow.
  8. Never seen Reservoir Dogs before. I have heard a lot of good things from it, and I'm a fan of Tarantino's, so I'll be buying this when it comes out.
  9. Personally I love Seinfeld, but I can see how people hate it. It's not for everyone. These ones arent really my least favorite show, just overrated shows: South Park and Family Guy. FG is 100% ripped off The Simpsons. I didnt mind it at first. Seasons 1 and 2 were good. But 3 and 4 were crap. And one episode, Peter said "...remember when we were badly drawn Tracy Ulman cartoons." That line made me hate Family Guy. They completely mocked the show that made them exist in the first place. Without The Simpsons, there would be no Family Guy, American Dad, Futurama, King of the Hill, South Park, etc. South Park I find just decent. There a completely hit-and-miss show. About half the episodes of South Park I've seen are good, the other half are bad. American Dad is pure crap. One of the worst shows on TV. Along with King of the Hill. I hate that show. It's nowhere funny. They once had an episode about toilets for God sakes. And I hate the character Hank. The only one I like is Dale. For reality TV, I hate most of it. I watch American Idol and Canadian Idol. That's about it. The only Reality Show I ever really liked was "The Joe Schmo Show". it was the best "reality" show ever made, and it only lasted 2 seasons. In my opinion these are the two worst television shows in history: -COPS -Jerry Springer I would say Maury, but that's kind of a guily pleasure for me, I like to watch the show for laughs.
  10. Clerks. 2 One of the funniest movies I've ever seen in my life. One of the best Kevin Smith movies, I rank it just under Clerks. and Chasing Amy and above Dogma and 'Strikes Back. I loved the ending, and I couldnt imagine any better way to end it. 8.5/10 I've never seen Star Wars before in my life until yesterday. My friend brought over the original trilogy, so we watched them. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope A great movie. Loved the story and the acting. Great special effects. After seeing this, I can see how Star Wars has so many loyal hardcore fans. 8.8/10 Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back I went into this movie expecting around the same quality from IV. This movie is an improvement over IV. Better special effects, better music, I loved the story in this game. And the last 30minutes was amazing. 9.3/10 Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi This was a great ending to the original trilogy. Special effects once again were improved. However the story was slightly weaker than in the previous two. However, I loved those small cute creatures (sorry, I forgot their name). 8.8/10 Expect the following reviews from me soon: -Star Wars Episode I: Phantom Menace -Supersize Me -Troy -Kill Bill V.1
  11. 01: Nirvana 02: Guns N' Roses 03: Sum 41 04: Pearl Jam 05: blink 182 06: No Doubt 07: Billy Talent 08: AFI 09: Red Hot Chili Peppers 10: GreenDay
  12. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006) Just got back from seeing it. I was definitly not let down. I felt that Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley did just as good in this one as they did in the original. I really got into the characters of Jack Sparrow and Will Turner, but personally I was having mixed reactions with Elizabeth. I felt that Curse of the Black Pearl had more comedy, but this movie had more action. I also really liked the ending, and it's making me looking forward to Part 3. Overall, Dead Man's Chest was slightly better than Black Pearl. My rating: 8.5/10
  13. Billy Talent, i love the songs "Devil by a midnight mass" and "Red Flag", I really need to get their CD soon, I've heard a lot of good things about it.
  14. Easy, I can name the #1 video of all time...Queens of the Stoneage with "Everyone Knows You're Insane". Ok seriously, heres my top 8 list (in no particular order): Nirvana -"Smells Like Teen Spirit" Twisted Sister -"Were Not Gonna Take It" Guns N' Roses -"November Rain" Beastie Boys -"Sabotage" Peter Gabriel -"Jackhammer" A-Ha "Take On You" Rob Zombie -"Dragula" Marilyn Manson -"The Beautiful People"
  15. American: Lion King and Shrek Japanese: Ninja Scroll, Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, DBZ 9: Bojack Unbound, and Street Fighter Alpha Alpha is a lot better than 2: The Animated Series.
  16. Sorry for the late entry, but this took me a long time to make. In no particular order and including only 1 movie in a series/trilogy: 01) The Wizard of Oz (1939) 02) Casablanca (1942) 03) Forrest Gump (1994) 04) Back To The Future (1985) 05) The Titanic (1997?) 06) Edward Scissorhands (1990) 07) Clerks. (1994) 08) Aliens (1986) 09) Clue (1985) 10) Scarface (1983) 11) Clockwork Orange (1971) 12) The Lion King (1994) 13) The Shining (1980) 14) Pulp Fiction (1994) 15) The Exorcist (1973) 16) Shrek (2001) 17) The Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) 18) Kill Bill v.1 (2003) 19) The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (2003) 20) Finding Neverland (2004)
  17. 2 movies I saw in the last few days: The Exorcist 3: 6.8/10 A fairly decent movie, that had it's moments. The Ring: 6.1/10 A lot better than the The Ring Two (around 4.4/10), but just not a good movie. It was boring, and didn't make perfect sense. I'm also annoyed because both movies fail as to explain the origin of the actual VHS tape, and how it made it's way to where it went.
  18. Note: I am not gay...not that there's anything wrong with that. ..... That was fucking awesome. Very funny. One of the best music videos ever made. Did MTV air that video censored or uncensored? The only thing that bothered me, was that at times, the Asian person seemed a little too happy.
  19. I own Volume 1 (seasons 1+2) of Family Guy and it's great. The best seasons of the show. I recommend anyone to buy that. And after reading the previous posts, I must say American Dad is a poor show. It's almost as bad as King of the Hill. American Dad is too dull. I hate most of the characters. The only one I have remote intrest in is the teenage girl. But recently I bought Simpsons season 1 and Futurama volume 1 DVDs and they're both awesome. I plan to buy the other 4 volumes of Futurama. The Simpsons and Futurama are much better than Family Guy and American Dad. I actually prefer Simpsons season 17 to the recent Family Guy and American Dad episodes. I don't get why many people have to bash the current Simpsons. Sure, the episodes aren't as good as the first seasons, but they're still pretty good and enjoyable. The Simpsons season 18 is one of the few shows I'm looking forward to come September.
  20. Chasing Amy: 8.5/10 Dogma: 8.0/10 I'm a big fan of Kevin Smith's movies, and these are 2 great movies in his franchise.
  21. Most overrated movie of all time: A Christmas Story Crappy movie all the way through. At the end when he shot himself, I was hoping he'd died. But he didn't. :ohwell:
  22. Clerks. :9.3/10 Definitly a classic. One of the funniest movies I've ever seen. It'd probably rank in my top 3.
  23. House of 1000 Corpses was alright. Devil's Rejects was great. Although I was hoping for it be scary, it was disturbing. I loved the "rejects", I was rooting for them all the way through. And I loved the final sequence, it was awesome. I nearly cried. Oh, and on commentary, Rob Zombie said he didnt think "Free Bird" was use on another movie. I think it was used on Forrest Gump. Devil's Rejects is one of the best horror movies in recent years. A hell of a lot better than shit like Ring Two or Hills Have Eyes.
