  1. I had a game where England slipped to about 40th in the World after missing out on Euro 2012 and the World Cup. The highlight for me was a 0-0 draw at home to San Marino which the media referred too as a hard fought draw by the English
  2. As a Leeds fan this really hit home, one of my earliest football memories is that great midfield of Strachan, McAllister, Batty and Speed. With all four of them, even when they left and played for other teams, to me they were still Leeds. Tomorrow night at Forest will be the first time I've ever watched Leeds and not cared about the result, rather to pay tribute to a legendary footballer. The toughest thing I've seen/heard through all of this was Bryn Law being interviewed on Sky. Bryn's a Leeds fan and he's Welsh, and also a good friend of Speedo. Video for it here
  3. Absolutely saddened to hear about this, pure legend. RIP Speedy
  4. Playing as Man United I can imagine the second and third goals being given, especially if Howard Webb was the referee
  5. Goal Tie for me between Bentley Vs Arsenal or Koncheskey Vs West Ham, Nasri's first against Man U gets a mention Match I have to say Spurs Vs Arsenal Moment Newcastle getting relegating was a great moment Comeback I'll go with Arsenal Vs Hull. I know Hull only came from one goal down but at the time at the Emirates you would of been expecting Arsenal to get 4 or 5 Player Up until the Liverpool game I'd of said Vidic, but instead I'll go with one of the most under rated of the season, Michael Carrick Manager Tony Pulis of Stoke. Bookies paid out on them to get relegated after one game, so to stay up and in mid table is a great achievement Facepalm moment of the season It's not Prem, but the goal in the Watford/Reading game was awful I'll throw in team of the season for me: GK - Van Der Saar RB - Johnson LB - Cole CB - Vidic CB - Hangeland RM - Milner LM - Ashley Young CM - Gerrard CM - Carrick ST - Rooney ST - Torres

  7. Carl Dickinson from Stoke was a loan. Liked him but a left back is the last position we need. Think that Simeon Jackson from Gillingham could do a job, but think this will be his level (much like Beckford). Richardson I think is good going forward he just needs to be better disciplined defensively. We have the best manager to do that. Bradley Johnson I never thought of for that position. Would be tempted on Savage for a couple of months, but would be worried about his age now. Sort of player we need anyway
  8. Douglas was confirmed Friday I think, even had him put a message thanking fans for their support. Frazer was offered a new contract and Lucas was also released. We've offered Jonny Webb a contract, think he's a centre half from the academy but presume he'll be loaned out. Heard Hotchkiss is the other who may break through this year, but heard the same about Rothery a while back. A right back now becomes the top priority, as whilst I think Frazer is decent for this level we can certainly do better. Left back I have no worries about whatever, we have three good left backs for this league and all are quite young which is an added bonus. I think Snoddy can play as a striker. May not be his prefered position but I think he and Becchio will have a good enough understanding. Maybe get Puncheon from MK in to play on the wings. I think that team you've named will be the one who starts next season, however I do worry about Howson against the more physical teams. Would love us to sign someone who can put a good tackle in to play alongside Kilkenny
  9. I'll be glad to sell Beckford too but wouldn't take a cheap deal. If he stays he's guaranteed to score enough goals to get us promoted, which he proved this season. I think if he got us promoted he'd stay on then, and if he leaves he'll of done enough to get us up. The news I'm sad about is Sodje meant to be signing for Bristol City. If Grayson keeps the nucleaus of our squad but really strengthens the back four (new keeper, right back and centre back) and buys a goal scorer to replace Beckford we should piss the league. Had Naylor and Grayson been at the club since August we'd be preparing to go to Newcastle now. Back on to Beckford, I'd like us to keep him at this level but I agree his attitude is embarassing at times. Selling him won't make us a bad club, but we will need to replace him. As much as I like Becchio we have fuck all after him (Dickinson is shite, Grella can't seem to hack the pace of the game and Tom Elliott has always looked useless). Also be sad to see Dougy leave, but he was our biggest earner I think so was inevitable.
  10. CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL (3pts) Barcelona 1-2 Man Utd FA CUP FINAL (3pts) Everton 0-1 Chelsea BONUS QUESTIONS (12pts) The first three questions are WITHOUT taking Extra Time into account. 1) What will the total number of goals be in both games? (3pts) 4 2) In the two games above, how many cards will be shown in total? (3pts) 10 3) Combined, how many offsides will there be in the two games? (2pts) 17 4) Will one or more of the above games go to Extra Time? (1pt) No 5) Will one or more of the above games go to Penalties? (1pt) No 6) Which two teams will win the Champions League and FA Cup trophies? (2pts) Man United and Chelsea
  11. I think Newcastle will at least draw today. Everyone thinks Villa are going to walk it because of their league position. I think they've only one one game since start of March (Hull at home) and there home form is what's held them back whereas their away form has been brilliant. Then again I think given Newcastle need to attack I think that could play into Villa's hands a bit, with the pace of Young and Agbonlahor on the counter. I think Boro will also sneak a win today. West Ham have been inconsistent lately and I think they may play a few youngsters for first team experience. If Newcastle and Boro go, I think the relegation battle next year will be interesting. Wolves, Birmingham and playoff winners will struggle. Hull will obviously be down their and Stoke won't be able to rely on home form two years running. Then you'll have an ageing Portsmouth, a young (and skint) West Ham, an inconsistent Bolton and possibly Wigan if they have to sell. Honestly I think Boro and Hull are going, but I hope it's Hull and Newcastle. I think Steve Gibson runs Boro really well, especially in todays footballing climate, and deserves to keep Boro up in the Premier League. If they do, it'll be interesting to see if they keep Southgate. If they go down, I think they've got enough good young players who will stay and get Newcastle to bounce back up And whilst we're on about bets, I've got Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United and Liverpool to all win, fiver on so works out about 44 quid back if it comes in. Man United are the only ones who may let me down
  12. Wasn't Karen Brady (Birmingham City owner) one of the ones last year? I'm sure they get interviewed by high up business people
  13. Yea got it now, took a while to find
  14. Whereabouts is the editor located in 09?
  15. I imagine prices will be the same, can't see Bates dropping them but they can't put them up
  16. I can't remember the last time Robinson put in a good shift, and his passing the other night in particular was abysmal. He offers no cover for Parker either. Admittedly I don't see us every week, but I don't think I've seen him play well for some time. Johnson is capable but that loan spell at Brighton hasn't helped him, he's been poor since coming back. I'd consider loaning him out though as he is quite young still Any idea if Alan Martin is any good? I've heard positive things about him but there's a difference between playing well for Leeds and playing well for Barrow
  17. We're gonna win the league We're gonna win the league And now you're gonna believe us Now you're gonna believe us We're gonna win the league Rebuilding will do us good, and as much as Beckford infuriates me in big games we could do with his 25+ goals next season along with 20+ more for Becchio. If Beckford goes we need to go for Cox or Lambert. It's a given Delph's gone, his reaction after the game sums him up. Hopefully Johnson, Robbo, Enoch, Lucas and Sweeney quickly follow him out. If we get 6 million for Delph, I'd bid 1 million for Sodje. If he and Naylor were here all season we'd of gone up. We need a new keeper, any time the ball goes in our box from the wings I shit myself as Casper can't catch. I think we're releasing Douglas and Richardson as they are big earners. Would like Frazer to stay (and Dougie to a lesser extent) but that would put us in a dire needs for a right back. Centre back is good if we sign Sodje, and left back we have three players good enough for this league. Howson and Killa are too light weight for centre mid and I don't think Jesus is good enough so we need a tackler to play alongside Killa. A winger (Puncheon from MK) needs to be signed as Robbo doesn't produce his best consistently. We need a back up striker as Grella isn't ready yet. Possibly get Vokes on loan from Wolves as he won't play much in the Prem
