It turns out that maybe banking on a relationship eventually happening with the NFL wasn't the smartest business move.

Yeah sounds like this is very likely to fold this weekend barring another sudden infusion of funding.

I saw that the Hurricanes owner that gave them their last big cash infusion was saying that the NFL had better help them out or they wouldn't be around much longer.

I assume the NFL's reaction looked something like this:

It's so strange that changing their business model to trying to become the NFL's developmental league when the NFL showed little to no interest in that, didn't work out.
