I both support my local team and when I don't have a local team and a subtle glory hunter. The real trick is supporting a team for 20 years before they get absurdly rich owners who take them over. Playing the long game.

Also I don't follow cricket but I'm obligated to support the West Indies or my in-laws and their family will disown me I believe.

@METALMAN Would you say that with such a pillar of support, it would be appropriate to call a team by their proper name if it represents a specific geographic region, and not the city they may or may not play in (like they play in an entirely different county that you have to deal with a ton of traffic and go over a bridge to get to the actual city)?

This is a pretty poor list of options. There were some categories I didn't even get to fill anything in. How could you not include David The God Beckham in the individual sports star list? And who gives a shit about Kilmarnock? And no USA in the world cup list?

1. IS DAVID BECKHAM AN “INDIVIDUAL SPORTSPERSON”? I MUST HAVE MISSED THE PART WHERE HE BECAME A PROFESSIONAL BADMINTON PLAYER

2. KILMARNOCK ARE THE OLDEST PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL CLUB IN THE WORLD (outside England) and this makes THEM A REALLY FUCKING BIG DEAL (outside England). I can’t help it if your team was founded a couple of weeks ago and has no history or culture worth speaking of. That’s not Kilmarnock’s fault.

3. The USA is a very minor country in footballing terms. I have only 15 choices and those that I chose all have a much better chance of winning than the USA (including Italy).

I appreciate your appreciation but this wasn’t really my choice. I simply chose 15 teams which are, scientifically, the 15 most important sports teams in the world.
