Here are my top 3 soundtracks from a film. These are films with mostly licensed music, and not driven by their scores.

1.) Almost Famous

Zepplin,The Who,Elton John, Simon and Garfunkel......need I say more

8 Mile had a pretty good soundtrack. Cradle 2 The Grave, I still have a copy of that one - not bad.

Top Gun! Played two on two basketball slightly pissed at a BBQ last weekend with Playing With The Boys by Kenny Loggins in the background. Accidentally put someone through a garage window in the heat of the moment. Then factor in Danger Zone, Take My Breath Away, You've Lost That Loving Feeling (By the Cruiser and Goose) and the uber good main theme. Daa daa, da da da da daa, da da da da da da da da da daaaaa...

Baseketball, it's more 'Let's call in Reel Big Fish' than a soundtrack. Team Americas soundtrack also rocks.

I always liked "Dude Where's My Car?" and "Road Trip" OST's, both have some quality songs.

I hate how all new US films need a bland alt/metal soundtrack to go with it.

I'd have to say Garden State's OST, Reservoir Dogs OST......and I can't really think of many others.

Oh, the About A Boy OST is cool as well.

Agreeing with Trist, the Undeworld OST is pretty good. As well as The Punisher OST and the Freddy vs. Jason OST.

Maybe its just the songs they choose. They all seem to be really bland, even when the bands they pick themselves are usually pretty good.

Most of the time it's old tracks or b-sides or something that get on these soundtracks. I know the Slipknot track on Freddy Vs. Jason was from fucking 1997.

Hmm, I find it funny that Underworld's OST kicks much more ass than the movie...

I can't say I have a favorite OST, but I do dig the soundtrack to Dazed and Confused.

The Lion King had a pretty decent soundtrack. What? I was little back then.

I love the Young Guns II soundtrack, that rules. Oh yeh, and Romeo Must Die, that soundtrack also kicks ass.

Easily the Punisher OST. It had a lot of my favorite bands and had my now favorite song (Seven Wiser - Sick)

Runners up are Spiderman 2 and Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

Resident Evil: Apoc and Freddy vs. Jason. They're the only two soundtracks I own, so...yeah.
