Yeah, I can't seem to remember why Marvel & DC were fighting in those 4 comics. I can't figure out anything about them, actually. I lost my copies of them, so I can't refer to them. I google'd it, but nothing came up.

So the question: Why was Marvel & DC fighting in those comics? Was there a reason? Or was it just for the hell of it?

My guess is because the crossover appeal presented them both with a massive profit oppurtunity.

I believe something happened where the two universes collided together, and unless one side was eliminated they would both be destroyed...I forget exactly.

Go Here

The story goes, that there were two "ultimate beings" one for Marvel ... one for DC. They became aware of each other, and put their "heroes" together to decide who would survive.

Amalgam comics kicked ass.

Spider-Boy, JLX, Iron Lantern, Dark Claw, Super Soldier

good stuff.

Amalgam was the combined DC and Marvel entity for those wondering.

And there was no Batman/Superman showdown, it was Batman Vs Captain America and there was no winner

Riiiight. I haven't read my ol' marvel vs dc comics in years... I wonder if I still have them somewhere. I have piles of comics all over.

Superman/Hulk was cool

Then Superman owned Hulk and tossed him around the Grand Canyon

I saw that one at the comic store too!! That looked hilarious :D

EDIT: on a different note, what about that one Marvel comic where Deadpool is transported back in time and he accidentally knocks out Peter Parker and must take the role of Spider-Man in order to ensure that nothing about the future changes?

I remember hearing about this, but I could never find it anywhere til a few years back. I loved this comic, I thought it was great.

I never saw the Amalgam comics ANYWHERE in England. I really wanted to read them...:(

Search spiderfan.org for "Deadpool", I believe it's in their database along with a review (unsure on the review, though)

Found it : http://www.spiderfan.org/comics/title/deadpool.html

I was a bit off on the storyline though :S
