Has there ever been a mafia game were there were several different groups, with the members of each knowing who each other were? Basically, an all mafia-mafia?

If not, would that even work? Even groups doing battle? It seems the main downside is that people would have no issue voting for people outside their group, but it'd be interesting in terms of alliances (until/unless one group had enough surviving members to secure lynches), backstabbing, and such.

Wasn't Haruhhi Mafia like that? Which, despite the staggering obviousness of what was going on, at no point did it occur to any of the surviving scum to vote off the one town player.
