EU3

Recommended Posts

So, is In Nomine worth getting? Haven't played EU3 for ages. I tended to find it a bit boring. I mean, it's realistic, but I like conquering shit :P EU3 always seemed very anti-conquering-shit.

Also, the other thing that annoys me about EU3 (and M2TW, my go-to-game for conquering shit) is that it picks up just AFTER the interesting stuff happens. It starts in the mid 1400's, just AFTER the vikings embraced the White Christ and got all pussified. When I play as Norway or Denmark I want to rape virgins, drink mead and sing praise to Thor, damnit :( I want my huge navy to be feared so much my *enemies* start praying to Njordr. I don't want to 'declare war', then fight tonnes of skirmishes, before eventually settling for a peaceful resolution to the conflict which possibly involves the surrendering of territory to my kingdom. If I wanted fucking land, I'd take it. And I wouldn't be declaring war with a posh letter with a wax seal on it, I'd do it with a fucking axe to the face.

But noooo, can't do that. I'll get too many badboy points >.<

And if I edit Norway to be pagan and vaguely viking-like, they completely suck at everything because everything takes four times as long to research.

Okay seeing as I'm on a big strategy game binge right now - as it is all there is to do between university and jobs - is EU: Rome worth getting? I heard it has an expansion pack out.

Or maybe I will try and learn HOI 2. I've always really wanted to know how to play it and always been dreadful at it.

Or maybe I will just stick to the tried and trusted EU:3, Victoria or CTD Kings >_>

I hope Stokerino isn't hibernating or something because I am unsure if anyone else will answer. :/

I never got into EU: Rome. It seemed a bit...dull, like a step back for the franchise.

HOI2 is amazing, although of course quite intimidating. It's certainly a bajillion times better than Victoria. ¬_¬

I love Victoria. Possibly because it is easy to go the British Empire and just take out all the uncivilised Asian countries. Easy...and fun. >_>

But I tried Hearts of Iron 2 again today and it was a heartbreaking disappointment. I went Germany to see if I'd like it anymore being right in the thick of things. I spent 1936 to 1938 just biding my time. Started to get exciting after I moved my troops into the Rheinland, had the Anschluss event and annexed the Sudetenland.

Then I was on edge once it August 1939 arrived. September 1939 came and went...still no invasion of Poland event. So I thought...maybe I have to be proactive here and trigger the event. I declared war and despite Poland's guarantees from the Allies nothing happened.

I took Poland easily and still nothing happened.

I got all excited for nothing. :(

Oh and nobody even wanted to ally with me except bloody Austria. Who I should've annexed anyway. :@

EDIT: Was it something to do with me not invading Czechoslovakia in March '39 rather than just settling for the 1938 concession?
