The video game industry wouldn't be where it is today if it weren't for some of the characters that have been born from games since the beginning of the industry itself. Without Mario, what would Nintendo have become? Without Sonic, would Sega have stayed afloat for so long? And what about all the game franchises that spawned unforgettable characters that later came to be the faces of the games that made them?

The video game industry has given birth to numerous characters throughout its history, and it's time for them to be recognized. Much like Benji's Top 25 Video Games of All Time, as decided on by all of you... this is EWB Coin Op's Top 100 Video Game Characters of All Time.

This thread is the NOMINATION thread. You may submit up to TEN characters to be nominated for a spot in the Top 100. Please rank them in proper order (1: Best of the Best - 10: Worst of the Best).

The characters should be judged on how they were designed, their identifiability, their impact on the industry, their memorability and so on.

YOU MAY NOT VOTE FOR CHARACTERS BASED OFF REAL LIFE PEOPLE (I.E.: TRIPLE H FROM SD, ETC.)

YOU MAY, HOWEVER, VOTE ON ADAPTATIONS OF A REAL LIFE PERSON (I.E.: CAO PI FROM DYNASTY WARRIORS, ETC.)

I'll be accepting nominations until there are 100+ characters nominated for the competition. Once the numbers break 100, I will close voting soon after and ready the thread to vote on the Top 100 out of those selected. Only the Top 100 will be reviewed, however #'s 101-105 (should the numbers reach there or further) will be given recognition.
