Chelsea's Mikel Jon Obi has failed in his appeal against his red card in their 2-0 defeat at Manchester United and must serve a three-match ban.

The midfielder was shown a straight red card by referee Mike Dean for a first-half challenge on Patrice Evra.

As Fifa does not allow cards to be downgraded Chelsea could only have won the appeal if they had proved that no action at all should have been taken.

Why even bother appeal? It wasn't intentional but it was still two footed and studs up, if they shot that down based on intention or what not, the FA'd have to start doing the same thing with all the other players.

I'm more interested in John Terry's being a fag and trying to snatch the card off the ref. If Dean had sent him off straight off there would have been so much bitching, but the FA does nothing then they're idiots.

Also giving Grant 12 weeks (as per the rules) is silly, given that he can get his license in 10.

The Football Association has charged Chelsea for failing to control their players during the 2-0 defeat away at Manchester United on Sunday.

Assistant boss Steve Clarke has also been charged with using abusive and/or insulting words towards officials.

Chelsea were incensed by referee Mike Dean's decision to send off Nigerian midfielder Mikel Jon Obi in the first half for a challenge on Patrice Evra.

Chelsea and Clarke have until 12 October to respond to the charges.

Good -_-

Jeez, Man City looked good in that one. They countered with speed and Newcastle never looked like they were in that second half. Now here's hoping that the Hammers can get a draw out of this one. I don't see us beating Arsenal.
