That has to be ALL the albums you've listened to this year surely?

But, I'll let you off considering you included Blackbird :shifty:

And 'A Modern Way Of Living With The Truth'.

I haven't got that many albums that have been released this year/tail end of 2006 to be honest. The only definate ones being 'A Modern Way...' by The Exies, Puddle Of Mudd's 'Famous', 'Blackbird' and maybe Black Stone Cherry's album (whenever that came out).

As for of all the albums I got this year, a lot of them a few years old, some more than a decade, theres a lot of contenders like Soundgarden's 'Superunknown', POM's first two, the first two from The Exies, Shinedown's, Trapt's, Temple Of The Dog etc.

Including those 'oldies' that I got this year, the award goes to Shinedown's 'Us And Them'.

Without... mmm, Puddle Of Mudd's 'Famous' edges it.

Stone me, I totally forgot about two more

The Cribs - "Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever"

I thought this lot were a pile of shit the first time I heard them, but good Jesus, this album is fucking amazing from start to finish. Ryan Jarman's voice might not be to everyone's liking, but musically they are amazing.

Every Time I Die - "The Big Dirty"

So good, I even made a topic about. Just some good old balls to the wall rock music.

While I'm here, what's the general opinion of The Cribs? I love them but I know plenty of people that don't

Bloodsimple..........that is very possibly the worst band name I have EVER heard.

And Liam. Jesu. :shifty: 2 albums (Although ones previously recorded stuff, but never released), 2 EP's and a split (With Eluvium, which is great).

Yeah, I've checked out most of the Jesu stuff, and typically, its awesome. I just seem to spread myself a little thin over the stuff I have at times.

Though I'll also include Mayhem's latest album (can't remember the name), some really good black metal.

Lari, you dissapoint me :( Of all the people on the forum, I thought at least you would mention Symphony X - Paradise Lost. It's CLEARLY the album of the year :P It's just a brilliantly perfect album. I know RKO agrees with me ¬_¬

Also, Korpiklaani - Tervaskanto

Finntroll - Ur Jordens Djup

Battlelore - Evernight

Freedom Call - Dimensions

Still haven't heard Nightwish's new album yet, must get around to that. Hopefully it's better than Once.

The Maccabees - Colour it In

My favourite album of the year, and one of the best debut albums of the 21st century in my view! Can't stop listening to it, not a bad song on it.

Honourable mentions to Shotter's Nation and Cross by Justice.

I'm a huge Bloc Party fan but was very disappointed by A Weekend in the City - poor.
