Recommended Posts

There's compliation albums centred arond one genre, but usually its either only indie or dance (usually 25 different dance ones with all the same songs on it each season), but now it's time for you to comprise your on favourite genre album. Try not to have multiple songs by one artist. Let's say 14 songs for one album. Ratings welcome too if you want, who cares.

To the dude above, you missed out the instrumental wonder that is Kool And The Gang's 'Summer Madness', ah the joys of cruising around in Vice City with that blaring. Lol.

I'll add another since I'm bored.

How can you include Faith No More on a Grunge/Post Grunge album?

That's the only one thats out of place in the top one.

Well they were around that time, and to be honest, FNM are hard to place exactly in terms of genre.

6. "It's Been A While" -Staind

11. "Blurry" - Puddle Of Mudd

12. "Remedy" - Seether

Keep your horrid alt-metal bullshit away from my grunge. "Blurry" in particular is about as emblematic of the grunge movement as New Kids on the Block are emblematic of doo-wop.

I pity the fool who don't like some Canadian 80s Rock! It's a double album because that's how I roll! (also that way I can have some artists twice). Tried to make the first one more "pop" and second one more "metal", as much as I could.

1. Northern Lights - "Tears Are Not Enough"

2. Rush - "Tom Sawyer"

3. April Wine - "I Like To Rock"

4. Tom Cochrane & Red Rider - "Big League"

I'll focus on something like Metal evolving throughout the years, so mixes of old and new Metal.

Metal Evolving Throughout The Years

1. Paranoid - Black Sabbath

2. The Trooper - Iron Maiden

3. Breaking The Law - Judas Priest

4. Master of Puppets - Metallica

5. Walk - Pantera

6. Bodies - Drowning Pool

7. Unholy Confessions - Avenged Sevenfold (I had to throw them in) :pervert:

8. St. Anger - Metallica

9. My Curse - Killswitch Engage

10. Tears Don't Fall - Bullet For My Valentine

It could have done with more 90's stuff, but my knowledge of Metal from that time is pretty bad. I'm getting second thoughts over adding BFMV, but I'll keep it in anyway.

Here goes nothing...

'Classic' Rock

The usual suspects really, with a few curve balls that I think would 'fit' and a few more modern songs that, in my opinion will fit on there nicely. Disc 2 is more mix'n'match than the first.

Disc 1

1. All Right Now by Free

2. Since You've Been Gone by Rainbow

3. Poison by Alice Cooper

4. Easy Livin' by Uriah Heep

5. Hush by Deep Purple

6. More Than A Feeling by Boston

7. Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard

8. Tie Your Mother Down by Queen

9. Feel Like Makin' Love by Bad Company

10. Living After Midnight by Judas Priest

11. Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses

12. Highway To Hell by AC/DC

13. Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf

14. Freebird by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Bonus Track: A Day Late, A Dollar Short by Hanoi Rocks

Disc 2

1. Young Lust by Aerosmith

2. Out In The Fields by Gary Moore

3. Cats In The Cradle by Ugly Kid Joe

4. The Jean Genie by David Bowie

5. Jailbreak by Thin Lizzy

6. Should I Stay Or Should I Go by The Clash

7. My Generation by The Who

8. Radar Love by Golden Earring

9. Crossroads by Cream

10. Rock 'n' Roll by Led Zeppelin

11. Ace of Spades by Motorhead

12. Wind of Change by Scorpions

13. Rocking All Over The World by Status Quo

14. Crazy, Crazy Nights by KISS

Bonus Track: The Spirit of Radio by Rush :shifty:

EDIT: Fuck, how could I miss The Who off? Sorry Animals...

Well, hey, it's "post-Grunge." Which can pretty much translate to "morons who were 'inspired' by music much better than what they make." Part of why Kurt Cobain's death is such a tragedy to me is because if he were still alive I bet he would mock the hell out of "post-Grunge" bands, just like he mocked people who showed up to Nirvana concerts and didn't have any clue as to what he was actually saying.

Some awesome bands there. Was going to do a Power one but couldn't think for the life of me half of the actual song titles .

As for those... I'd have had "Eagleheart" by Stratovarius, "Black Sheep" or "Victoria's Secret" for Sonata Arctica, "Hero's Return" or "The Dragon Lays Bleeding" by Hammerfall, "Battlefield" by Blind Guardian and one of "Wish I Had An Angel", "Planet Hell" or, if I were being ballsy "The Poet and The Pendulum" by Nightwish.

No Edguy? "King of Fools" would fit methinks.

Oh, and Dragonforce... somewhere... some track. But that's just me :)
