Dawg that was off the charts man. Let me just say, let me say this, let me just say that THAT was the performance of the year easily. Forget the other 3453 times I said this already. Dawg, I was feeling that.

So Starr is Seacrest then? That's the only I really to know at the moment.

Also, rule-a-mania:

Planet Jarrett.

During the whole Planet Jarrett angle, Jackie resurfaced in TNA claiming to have a conspiracy against Jarrett. This made him and his faction very apprehensive to do anything until one show Gail Kim announced she also had some incriminating evidence for something against Jackie. And if Jackie went public so would Gail. So she became Planet Jarrett's unwilling lackey, until being let go by the company in which it has never been mentioned again.

You must now have have Jackie reveal this secret at Sacrifice 2006 (you choose the what it is, be creative), and book whatever feud/angle stems from it to it's completion at Bound for Glory 2006 (very open-ended I know).

Some Rules

June 8th, 2008

10:35pm

Impact Zone, Florida

Battered, bruised and out of breath he remained hunched over on all fours. Looking first out in front of him, he saw the TNA World Heavyweight Championship lying flat out on the apron and that knowing smile crossed his face. He could hear the fan’s disapproval ringing in his ears. They were disappointed and annoyed with what was about to transpire. Reaching forward, he pulled the belt into his grasp just as it looked like Earl Hebner would get his hands on it once again.

He didn’t.

Taking a moment to catch his breath, he pushed up on his right foot and clutched the belt close to his chest. The jeering of the crowd continued to ring out in his ears, which was strange as ever since he won the Olympic gold in 1996 he had been able to shut out the crowd until the very end. The match was as good as, but not completely over.

Stepping onto the first rung of the ladder, the smile across his face began to grow. He reached up with his right arm, the one that hadn’t been squashed in a steel chair and began to pull himself towards greatness.

He stepped onto the second rung and then turned towards his beaming wife. She had finally recovered from a nasty broken leg and was there, smiling from ear-to-ear as he stepped up the ladder.

The third rung came quickly after, and that allowed Kurt to turn to the penalty box and survey the damage. Christian, Joe and A.J. had stopped fighting each other and were focused intently on the reigning TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Every ounce of their beings were either willing him to fall, for the ladder to fall or for time itself to speed up.

Stepping up again Kurt was now only four more steps from back-to-back King of the Mountain victories. The title reign that had begun in October on Impact looked like it was set to continue in a match that few expected Angle to win.

Well, except that he forgot about someone.

Not only did Kurt forgot about them, but seemingly everyone else watching and in the arena did. Some of the fans at home were reaching for their remotes to turn the television off when the music hit. Some of the fans in the Impact Zone were starting to put on their coats when they were frozen in position. It took a few seconds for everything to register but when it did, the noise was spectacular. The roof on the Impact Zone just about stayed on as all the attention turned towards the entrance way.

Kurt Angle had stopped climbing, and was watching. The fear in his eyes was clear to see for the two people that were still watching him. The rest were transfixed on the ramp. They wanted to make sure it was true.

And it was.

The guitar riff still pierced the ears, and singled the return to TNA of one great man. Just over a year after the tragic death of his wife, Jeff Jarrett strode confidently into the Impact Zone and directed his guitar straight at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Christian was still a full minute from getting out, but even he nor the other two men in the penalty box could deny just how perfect the situation was.

Angle quickly hurried off the ladder and prepared himself to engage Jarrett; but it was no use. Jeff slide into the ring and made light work of the tired and battered Champion. Slipping out of an attempted tackle, Jarrett obliged Angle with a skull-shattering guitar shot.

Almost forgetting his manners in the situation, Jarrett nearly headed to the ladder without becoming eligible for victory. Dropping to hisknees, Jarrett looked out at the TNA fans as the three count was delivered before jumping to his feet.

He was fresh and ready, while the others were now locked in a penalty box.

The 2008 King of the Mountain was Jeff Jarrett and there wasn’t a person on the planet that begrudged him victory. Quickly scaling the ladder with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in his hands, the fans were still going wild as Jarrett applied the finishing touch.

He hung the belt gracefully over the rung and then threw his arms in the air. Tears were already sliding down his cheeks.

Becoming a ten-time World Champion is always something special, but considering the personal torture that Jeff went through in 2007 things were made all the sweeter for him.

Mike Tenay and Don West were struggling themselves to even speak as the emotion of the whole situation got the better of them. This was most definitely Jeff Jarrett’s finest moment in wrestling, and his children were lead to the ring by his brother to celebrate with their daddy.

Embracing the three girls with the TNA World Heavyweight Championship now on his shoulder, Jarrett let all the emotion flow. After no hype, no warning and no questioning from anyone, he was once again “King of the Mountain.”

From here, you must:

1. Book the Jarrett reign up to Bound for Glory, expalining his general actions for each Impact and PPV.

2. Write one promo for Jarrett hyping his BFG showdown.

3. Write one promo for his challenger, one of Christian, A.J. Styles, Samoa Joe or Kuurt Angle for the BFG showdown.

4. Write the BFG match.

I just want to say you look beautiful, but you're not... I don't know, you're not really the style we're looking for in this particular competition, y'know? But you look beautiful. I love your outfit.

Rules:

It's the simplest rules in the world, book The Zombie, Frank N. Stein, The Wolfman, and Kevin D. Thorne (The D stands for Dracule) as the baddest faction/stable in the world of wrestling. The Zombie debuted on ECW and promptly got his ass kicked by Sandman, but what if that wasn't the end? What if the next week Sandman took on Frank N. Stein, and when it looked like he had it won, Monsters Inc. hit the ring and kicked his ass?

-Write a week by week recap from the second show to the week before December To Dismember that shows what Monsters Inc were doing each week. It doesn't have to be long, just something.

-Write a promo at D2D for the faction explaining their matches.

-Write a short recap of two of their three of the matches. One lower level singles match and a midcard Tag Team Match. They must win one of those matches and lose one.

-Write in full the ECW World Title Match between the ECW Champion and one member of the stable. This is the Main Event, and should be written as such. The Monsters Inc member MUST be solidly put over as a future star, but mustn't necessarily win the match.

Good luck.

Guest Dr. Potato Head

I'm not going to be taking part, but here are a couple sets of rules. Hopefully more to come.

Guess you get to start with an easy one - there's no way you could screw up with the Invasion any worse than WWF, right?

The story, in case you weren't paying attention: after years of battles, the Monday Night Wars had finished. With the purchase of its longtime rival WCW, WWF could declare itself the victor. More importantly, it was now sitting on a potential business goldmine: the ability to book WCW vs. WWF matches, settling debates about which company had better wrestlers.

Your job isn't to rebook the Invasion from scratch, or anything like that. It's much simpler. Your entry consists of three parts - an angle, a video recap, and a match.

ANGLE: After the theatrics of the final NITRO, WCW went largely unmentioned on WWF television for a while. But that all changes here - the date is May 28, and WCW is going to make their presence known. How they do this (a run-in, a promo, a backstage angle) is up to you - but you must write out the angle in full.

VIDEO RECAP: It's June 24, and time for King Of The Ring. But first, we have to get through Sunday Night Heat! And like any good pre-PPV Heat, this one is full of hype videos! Using the video format, explain everything that has happened involving WCW since the initial angle.

THE MATCH: During the PPV, this is the first WCW vs. WWF match ever - the first match of any WCW wrestlers on WWF TV. There are no restrictions on what type of match it is, other than that it cannot be for a title, and it cannot be part of the KOTR tournament. Write the match in full - and by the time it's done, we should have some idea of where this angle is headed for Summerslam.

Other notes:

-You can rebook the KOTR tournament however you wish (to ensure that the wrestlers you want are available for the PPV).

-You can only use wrestlers who were contracted to WWF at this time - so no Sting, Hogan, Steiner, etc. You do, however, have Buff Bagwell.

The year is 1994, and the WWF is going through some tough times. With the steroid trial in full force, Bret Hart is WWF Champion. However, the rest of the roster - save Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, and a couple others - isn't much to write home about.

However, the WWF has had an idea. The World Cup, the world's foremost soccer/football championship, has just been held on American soil, and seems to have been a success. So the WWF is going to capitalize on this, and hold a world cup of their own - an eight-man tournament, culminating in the final at Summerslam.

Your task is to book the WWF World Cup from start to finish - your entry must include a video, a promo, and a match.

THE VIDEO: Quick highlights of the quarter-finals and semi-finals.

THE PROMO: One of the two participants in the final cuts a promo on the final Monday Night Raw before Summerslam, hyping up the match.

THE MATCH: The final of the WWF World Cup. Everything is up to you, but the match cannot end via DQ or countout (for the purposes of this entry that is; it's not necessarily a no-DQ match in kayfabe).

Other notes:

-The WWF roster for August 1994 (the roster you are to use) can be found here.

-You can hire any wrestlers you wish, as long as they were not employed by WCW in August 1994 (WCW's roster can be found here. However, any 'outside' workers (ones not on the WWF roster above) cannot advance past the first round.

-You can be creative - remember that this is WWF in 1994; they would likely use a very liberal definition of the word 'country'.

-This tournament is operating in a vacuum, you don't have to worry about what the rest of the PPV might look like with your match.

More rules with a more modern bent YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! *Kermitish flailing*

The Punjabi Paparazzi Magnet

On June 11, 2007, the Great Khali was drafted from Raw to SmackDown! in a move that nobody really cared about except Edge, who promptly shat a brick. Khali would luck into a World Heavyweight Title run after everyone and his mother got injured, but he was still the same old growling fearsome beast as before.

Except the week after he won the title, motherfucker danced.

Hey, let's roll with that!

After being drafted to SmackDown!, the Great Khali is taken off of TV for several weeks. However, his manager, Ranjin Singh, makes several appearances on commentary, promising that the Great Khali is in pursuit of additional endeavors and WILL return.

The week after Vengeance: Night of Champions, vignettes begin for a new and improved Great Khali. This, however, is not everyone's favorite Punjabi Nightmare. This guy is dressed to the nines, his hair slicked back, huge sunglasses on his face.

This... is Khaliwood.

YOUR TASK! You must write...

1. ...the vignette that airs the night after Vengeance in which the Great Khali reemerges in his new movie star gimmick, dubbed "Khaliwood." Do whatever you want with this.

2. ...a segment on SmackDown! in which Khaliwood and his agent Ranjin Singh host their new Piper's Pit-esque talk show segment. Call it whatever you want, but make sure this segment builds toward Khaliwood's first major feud.

3. ...the ending of Khaliwood's match against his new rival at SummerSlam. Khaliwood's new stable mates--either a debuting or established tag team--must have a hand in this ending. Khaliwood must win.

4. ...a summary of the booking leading from SummerSlam to Survivor Series. Khaliwood must not only have a tag team in his stable, but also a lower-card singles wrestler and a girlfriend.

5. ...a complete 5-on-5 Survivor Series match between Team Khaliwood and Team Khaliwood's Rival. Khaliwood, his lower-card singles wrestler, his tag team, and a fifth wrestler from either SmackDown! or ECW (or Ranjin Singh himself) must be on Khaliwood's team; his rival from the first talk show segment must captain the other. Khaliwood must be the sole survivor, but his rival must also look strong.

For the first round matches, it'd be a nice warmup to have some One-Segment Specials.

Examples:

The Original Invasion

When Jim Crockett Promotions absorbed the Universal Wrestling Federation, most UWF stars were immediately turned into WCW jobbers. Your task is to take a group of UWF wrestlers (no fewer than four from the list below, not counting the valets) and write a TV segment that establishes them as a serious threat to the NWA. This can be a gang assault, a promo leading to a fight, a disruption of a match that leads to a defection, however you see fit.

Available Workers: Sting, Terry Taylor, Steve “Dr. Death” Williams, Big Bubba Rogers, The Fabulous Freebirds (Hayes, Gordy, and Roberts), Eddie Gilbert (w/ Missy Hyatt), Rick Steiner, Iceman King Parsons, Chris Adams, The One Man Gang, The Missing Link (w/ Dark Journey)

Building a Better Invasion

Rather than having run-ins by WCW mid-carders such as Lance Storm or Hugh Morrus, your task is to write a segment that will get the WCW Invasion of the WWF started with a much bigger bang. This can be through:

a) A run in by Goldberg on a main-event match between two high-profile Superstars of your choice;

b) A WCW gang assault on a main-event match capped by a promo from Ric Flair;

c) A mysterious “lights-out” segment that ends with two or four big-name WWF Superstars laid flat in the ring and a bat-toting Sting standing in the middle for a promo;

Or d) a high-profile defection from the WWF abetted by Shane McMahon and one of the three WCW stars above.

It’s Not How You Start, It’s How You Finish

The New World Order’s WWF debut at No Way Out 2002 could easily be described as underwhelming. Instead of the NWO debuting with a “Hi, we’re here” kind of promo, your task is to write a segment that would end the show, signal their presence with authority, and either set up potential singles feuds for at least two of the three members (one of these feuds may be with Steve Austin or The Rock, but not both) OR add a big-name fourth member to the group. Feel free to alter the booking of the card as you see fit, i.e. you are not bound to the main event of Austin v. Jericho.

And finally, for something larger:

Owen Lives!

In this scenario, Owen Hart was injured in a fall from the rafters at Over the Edge…but this time, not fatally. The Blue Blazer had almost made it down to the ring when the harness let go, spilling Owen into center ring. Suffering a broken leg in the fall, Owen was, needless to say, on the shelf for several months. As a mea culpa for putting Owen’s life in danger, Vince McMahon decides that, upon Owen’s return, he will be booked into a WWF Championship program against the Undertaker. Your task is to write this program.

First comes a mysterious segment that seems to herald the return of the wounded hero, the Blue Blazer, and indicates that he has his sights set on The Undertaker. The following week, the Blazer does, in fact, return…but he unmasks himself to reveal Owen Hart!

What you need:

--The hype segment heralding the Blazer’s return.

--The Blazer’s actual return, in which he comes to the rescue of another WWF Superstar who is being mauled by Undertaker. This segment must end with the Blazer’s unmasking.

--The match itself at Armageddon. If Undertaker wins, the result must not be clean and should leave an opening for a rematch. If Owen wins, the finish can be however you desire, and there must be a celebration with multiple Superstars coming to the ring to congratulate Owen. Under no circumstances, though, should Kane or Steve Austin get involved in the match.

Right now, I have 23 entries and 18 (?) sets of rules. Not a bad ratio, and if anyone has a few more one-segmenters, bring 'em on. We're on track for seven first-round matches right now, so four more one-offs should do.

Turning From Special to Normal

We all know how the whole Eugene thing went. It was a solid gimmick for a while, but eventually, it grew stale. Your objective is in a segment to turn Eugene from a children loved man into one of the biggest heels in the WWE. This can be done either through a run in, or a promo, but you must have Eugene cut a promo on the audience in which he shows everyone his true intentions. When this takes place is up to you.

Welcome to the <Insert Show Name Here>
Your task is to write the debut of a new talk show in a promotion. The host will talk for a bit, introduce his first guest, talk to him, then introduce a second guest. As can be expected, it degenerates into a brawl, which is joined by a fourth party (who can join either side).

Stipulations:
1) One of the main people (the host, the two guests, or the late entry) must say less than 10 words total during the segment.
1a) (The Kamala Klause) This person could, however, scream all the unintelligible nonsense your heart desires.
2) The commentators must make two references that would indicate why a brawl will soon commence - if the two people are feuding, if it seems like a setup for a tag partner to come out, etc.
3) Something that means a lot to the host in the show's set will get destroyed in the brawl - the host needs to explain why it's so special (the more ridiculous the better, and have an over-the-top reaction when it's destroyed.

WWE v. Indy
Suppose Vince McMahon grew a heart - one that didn't include his pocketbook. As a thanks to an independent company who has developed the most recent talent acquisition for WWE, he has agreed to send one of his talents to that company for a one-off match.

You have to have:
a) A news item, that might appear on 411mania or some other news site, mentioning who got signed, the gimmick/character they would be playing, and a quote from somebody in charge at that company with their opinions on the plans,
b) Their first appearance and promo, which will be interrupted by the person they will be facing,
c) A promo from their opponent,
d) The one-off match between the two.

Stipulations:
a) No TNA.
b) This is hypothetical, not real - so if you want to use RoH, have them sign Tyler Black or Erick Stevens, not using the past situation of CM Punk.
c) The opponent's promo must take one shot at WWE for the way they are using the poached talent.
d) Either during or after the one-off match, the Indy guy's next feud must be started or hinted at.

Hardcore in it's finest hour
Think back to the 24-7 rule for the WWF Hardcore Title. Classic times - Patterson v. Briscoe in an evening gown match, Terri Runnels and Bobcat as champs, Raven winning the belt 27 times.

Your job is to recreate that chaos. For a list of who was champ when, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WWE_Hardcore_Champions .

Write a backstage segment where the champion is attacked in an unlikely place. The belt must change hands at least 5 times, and will be regained by the beginning champ at the end before he escapes. The brawl must spill into at least three rooms, and two questionable weapons (in a hardcore match, at least) will be used. Also, one non-wrestler (manager, interviewer, etc.) will attempt to win the belt, but fail.
