IT'S TIME FOR ANOTHER WACKY SOUSA MAFIA!

What is Lemmings?

You mean what ARE Lemmings?

No, it's the title of the game. Singular. What is Lemmings?

You should italicize titles, you know.

SHUT THE FUCK UP AND TELL ME WHAT LEMMINGS IS!

Lemmings is one of the oldest extant PC video game franchises; those of us who spent our youths tearing up our Packard Bell 386's doubtless also have memories of tearing our hair out trying to save these little bastards from death. The Lemmings were little blue-clad green-haired critters that would walk in a straight line... regardless of what certain death awaited them there. Your job as the player was to give individual Lemmings specific roles--building staircases, digging tunnels, or just stopping other Lemmings from running off of cliffs--with the goal of seeing a certain number of them to the exit.

That doesn't sound like it translates into a Mafia game very nicely.

You'd think that, but that's because you suck.

Explain yourself, sir!

Lemmings Mafia is a new type of Mafia game with its roots in Kingmaker rules. There is a single Mafia group in the game--evil bastards who wants the Lemmingses to die for storyline reasons--and a townful of Lemmings out to reach the exit. Their best hope of survival lies with the Player. The Player is similar to the Kingmaker; he may not reveal himself in the thread (though he won't face death if he does--another punishment will come to pass instead), and he is responsible for doling out abilities to Lemmings.

The night will be divided into two segments. During the first segment, the Player will hand out as many abilities (he has a finite number of them) as he wishes to other players. During the second segment, the Mafia will execute a kill and Lemmings with abilities will use them. Lemmings may not bank their abilities; they must use them in the night in which they are handed out, or they will be lost.

What abilities are there?

Only the Player knows for sure. Individual players may, at their choosing, reveal that they'd been given an ability. All the Lemmings know is that there are four abilities that can be given out: one with 4 uses, one with 3 uses, one with 2 uses, and one with 1 use.

What if a Mafia player is given an ability?

Mafia players are not Lemmings and thus cannot use Lemming powers. The ability will be lost; however, the Mafia player will know which ability was given out and can thus fakeyclaim accordingly.

Who are the Mafia? Spear traps?

Oh, no. It's way better than that.

Do I need to know about Lemmings to play?

Not at all. It's a traditional Mafia game; by and large, everyone should be claiming to be a Lemming anyway.

Where do I sign up?

Right here.
