MAFIA: GOLDEN CITY RENAISSANCE

Listen here kid, I have a story to tell you. The story of this town. The story of what we've seen. Of what we've yet to see. It was many centuries ago when our streets first ran red with blood.

Meanwhile, HeartlineTwist and Marcos manage to finish knocking Rebby unconscious, tieing a rope around his neck and tossing him out of the highest floor of the Town Hall. Their work done, they wipe their hands and turn around...

...where they find themselves looking down the sights of twin Tommy Guns.

IAceI and oldskool smile. They've taken over the City of Gold.

They were dark times after those two men took the City of Gold through the mud and back again. Our once glorious city had become rampant with corruption. We thought we knew fear. Then we met terror.

The last thing Future Shock sees is Ze rushing him, a humongous boot coming into impact with his face. It is enough to kill a man.

In fact, it does.

He was The Bounty Hunter, Town Aligned.

GAME OVER

That maniac from the isles terrorized us for many a year. Eventually, Corruption took back what was once owned by fear...

9 to 5, JHS, The Misanthrope, Mr. Evil Guy and The Future found themselves surrounded by a mob. oldskool, The Mask of Norbert and Mr. Potato Head aimed Tommy Guns at them. LCS, Zan and TEOL looked around disappointed with their batons.

It didnt last long, as the Mafia blew them all to bloody smithereens.

Eager for at least some blood, The Corrupted ones set to the pulp with their batons.

After that day, Everyone left. Everyone except me. The stories spread far and wide, became fables, to scare the local children from venturing too far from home. Fable became legend. Legend became myth. And for thousads of years, the once fertile, rich and bustling City of Gold became a Ghost Town.

Eventually, people came to this spot, curiousity overpowering their fear. The city became a bustling hub of commerce again, wealthy on trade and the richness of the surrounding soil. But with wealth comes corruption...and with corruption comes...Scum.

The time has come. The time is now. The city must once again be fought for. And overarching all this is a quest. A quest of loss, a quest for redemption. The Keeper of the Gate watches over all, looking for That Which Was Taken - much in the way this city was Lost and is now Found. This city must be redeemed. This city must find Sanctuay through...Renaissance.

I’ve had more than my fair share to say about the quality of the mafia games that were run (on the part of those running the games) in my time

Well it’s now time for another instalment of the mafia series that has been the best-supported by it’s players since something run by Zan.

I’m not going to promise you that you’ll have fun. This is mafia, it’s as fun as you want it to make it. I’m not going to mess with the fundamentals of the game in order to provide a fresh twist. I’m not going to make roles that no one understands except the three niche fans on this board.

What I will do is put effort into my roles, and effort into my write-ups. I do what I say I’m going to do, within a couple of hours of when I say I’ll do it. You know where you stand with a Plubby-Powered Mafia. I do my best to achieve balance, not wackiness. I try my hardest to make a skilfully played game a key part of winning. That said, Plubby-Powered Mafias are not carbon copies of each other; Innovation is a key part of a Plubby-Powered Mafia, and I don't overextend my reach when it comes to role innovations. This is a traditional mafia game with a key new element being investigated...The Golden City is back, baby, and you certainly don't want to miss it!

The game is split into two sections, Day and Night. (Game Time, not according to the real world.)

Players will be pm'd their roles. There will be some number of Mafia members, and the rest will be Townies, with special roles.

Players may not communicate outside the game thread unless given permission to do so.

The game begins at Night, where the Mafia members decide to whack a townsfolk. Other players may also do special actions, which I will explain below.

Once someone has been chosen to be hit, the night ends with me posting a report of who gets killed.

Once someone has been killed, it goes to Daytime, where all players (Mafia and Townies alike), discuss amongst themselves to identify possible members, and a vote will be held to lynch somebody. At this point of time, players can post to accuse each other based on clues from the report, suspicious voting patterns (for example, Mafia members may form a bandwagon to vote out another player, but that would be a bit too obvious), and what not. Of course, Mafia members should try to lie and come up with arguments to convince the other players to kill off their own kind. Once the vote is decided (either by majority or time up), a player gets killed off and his alignment is revealed, and we repeat the cycle until only 1 faction is left standing
