I just don't see it working out with Houllier. He clearly doesn't give a fuck. I wonder if he'll be giving a team talk at half time or will be meeting his old chums You have to laugh at how bad Warnock is. Dunne is one serious fat fuck. Haha @ Cowans on the touchline. Apparently he was shouting to someone on the pitch to "Fucking liven up", he was then told to keep it down and he said "Fuck away off" XD

3 easy points for Liverpool who were missing Gerrard and Torres. Another spineless, gutless, roll over from Gerard Houllier. Hides away in the dugout, like a certain David O'Leary. He also waved goodbye to the Kop fans whilst ignoring the Villa fans. He also decided to touch the "This is Anfield" sign before the game. Fuck off back to France you fat toad.

Bettings been suspended on it, I'm really praying its true. We were linked with him ages ago (I think actually pre second coming of Keegan) and I hoped it was the case then. Looking forward to him 'changing the shystem'.

It really doesn't matter, we could hire Sir Alex to manage, Jose to do his press conferences and Arsene Wenger to look after the youth team along with the 20 best coaches in the world but as long as Ashley and Lambias remain in charge, undermining, undercutting and being general cunts, the club is going nowhere but backwards again.

To be absolutely fair to both of them, barring the terrible levels of communication in terms of what their intentions are (occasional crap programme notes etc), since relegation they've barely put a foot wrong until now, which is why 'Get out of our club' became 'We don't care about Ashley, he don't care about me' and even that was starting to fade.

They gave Hughton a permanent deal for 2 seasons rather than the usual massive contract that left us paying massive compensation to managers (Keegan, Fat Sam), spent enough money to make decent shrewd signings in Williamson, Routledge etc to get us promoted, and continued with Tiote and Ben Arfa this season. Its different to the Freddy Shepherd days of throwing fat contracts at overpaid, overrated rubbish which was seeing us go the way of Leeds, West Ham or Portsmouth, but in my opinion (and that of several people I'm spoken with around my seat in the East Stand) its better. Building a sustainable team, bringing through decent young players (Carroll would still be in the reserves or poached by another team if Shepherd was throwing money at 30+ 'superstars') on a budget is far more satisifying than a City style sheik coming in and trying to buy a title winning side.

This isn't a 'Mike Ashley is a saint' rant, but I do maintain, like Sonya, that its better the devil you know than the devil you don't, and apart from not having enough faith in Chris Hughton I'm not going to claim he's some kind of evil bastard. Putting my sympathy for Chris and respect for all he's done aside, this might actually become a great move if the right man comes in. Or it could blow up in his face and make him look an idiot again, but I suppose thats the problem of owning a football club.

Edit: Annoyingly, if Ashley had kept Hughton as caretaker at the start of last season, or at least made him aware it would be a short term role, we might have been lucky enough to see this. Slightly tongue in cheek :shifty:

A nice win for Liverpool last night. I have a massive amount of respect for Hodgson so hopefully he can keep the recovery going, he's not that far from a Champions League place any more.

On a Newcastle note, after reading his interview in 4-4-2 this month, am I the only one hoping and to a degree, giving the buffoonery of sacking Chris Hughton in the first place, believing that Diego Maradona might get the Newcastle job?

Betting was suspended on Rafa to leave Liverpool months before he actually did and also Moyes to Villa.

Anyway, everyone is saying that Faulkner, Lerner are meeting with Houllier today at VP. Hopefully that's to give the cunt his P45 after last nights fiasco.

Alan Pardew is set to be named as the new Newcastle manager within the next 24 hours, BBC Sport understands.

As jack said, I saw the reports that Pardew was in contention, but I never would have imagined that he'd actually be taken on over some of the names mentioned. Proves that the old adage is true - it's not what you know, it's who you know.

This appointment actually make me feel queasy. I've taken all the shit of the past few years in my optimistic stride, but this? Sacking the manager when he did such an excellent job to bring in their Casino buddy Alan Pardew, is really a step too far for me. I'm so fuming right now, I actually can't write anymore about this whole debacle.
