Football Manager 2012

Oh, I don't plan on changing things. Maceo Rigters couldn't hit a barn door from the inside at the moment. I'm just consistently surprised by the fact this guy scores, because his stats aren't all that impressive.

Case in point:

Might I just add how fucking awesome that victory is?! Dominant away from home against an Eredivisie side - our parent club, no less!

Upstaged, however, by UNA/Brinvast's 2-1 win over Ajax.

Signs that the New England Revolution suck in FM: started an unemployed game with Sunday League experience, and they offered me a job. Was denied by any Blue Square Bet Premier clubs, and a Northern Irish Second Division, but not the mighty Revolution! Granted, my nationality is American, but I’ve never had that happen before in a game. Probably happens a lot though :P

So first BPL match, as Norwich away to Wolves after a promising pre-season.... and lost 4-0. Goddamn.

Ryan Bennett begged for a starting performance and his complete incompetence lead to them winning key headers. I'm putting him right on the transfer list and he won't be playing on the senior squad anytime soon.

Ruddy is next on my shit list if he doesn't do better.

Don't know what else I can possibly do to improve my side. I've got everyone playing to their strengths, using a 4-1-2-1-2 which has done well for us so far. Maybe I need to make them play more rigid, as I'm having centre midfielders shooting more than my strikers (wtf?).

Bit of porn should fix that right up.

It's the end of January in my game. We briefly drew level with NEC at the top of the league, but we're five points back again with ten games to play. There's only the one guaranteed promotion spot, so that's a bit tough.

Our next game is against NEC, funnily enough, in the quarter finals of the KNVB Cup. NEC hammered Eredivisie side Groningen 4-0 at home in their fourth round match, while we put a hurting on top flight side De Graafschap 3-0 away from home. Would be a massive boost if we could win this one.

EDIT: Ha! You better believe we can! Got hammered in the first half, but managed to stay level at 0-0 (they had one ruled offside). A lad my parent club sent down in the January transfer window scored his first for the club and then my right back slammed home the winner. The win earns us a very handy €500,000 and a semi-final showdown at home to... PSV.

So, as you all know because I've bored you death telling you all about it, I started at Kilmarnock and moved to QPR then Liverpool. Whenever I leave a club I like to add the players that I liked there to a shortlist so I can keep up with how their careers are going (yes, I'm a saddo), but this means that I now have a bunch of guys that weren't even good enough for the first team at Kilmarnock and QPR begging me to sign them for Liverpool all the time cause they think I'm interested in them. Nightmare!

20 games into the season and Wrexham are flying high.

Won 12, Drew 2, Lost 6 which puts me on 38 points and into 6th place. The team overall have played pretty some good football and the teams I lost to I didn't expect anything from tbh (Lost to City 7-4, 4-0 to Spurs, 2-1 to Arsenal, 3-1 to Everton, 4-0 to Spurs and 2-0 to Man.Utd) beat Liverpool 2-1 in the 90th minute at home that's probably been my biggest result in the league.

In the cups: Carling Cup I beat Rochdale 5-3 in the 2nd round, advanced to the third round and put out a weakened team against Wolves who beat me 3-2 in extra time. Bit annoying as I dominated the game. FA Cup I've only played the 3rd round so far in which I beat Ebbsfleet 5-1 at home meaning I have to play Stoke away.

I had to sell Ibrahim Ghaleb because he was unsettled in Wales....so instead he's gone to Newcastle for £6.75mil. I'm disappointed that I had to get rid of him like but at least I made a profit of 1.25mil on him.

metalman: Maybe it would help if you stopped moving to teams I dislike. :shifty:

Although in the brief period after I left Villa but before I became England manager, I got direct job offers from two clubs: Liverpool (response: GO FUCK YOURSELF) and Spurs (response: SERIOUSLY GO FUCK YOURSELF). I think the game may have been consciously trolling me.

Fair enough, I suppose.

I'm still yet to take on a job with the intent of destroying the club from the inside. I've been tempted a number of times but have always chickened out and gone for a 'real' job instead. Really need to get round to doing that some day.
