EWB's Favorite TV Show 2011: The Voting Thread

And now, with the clip from last year's winner out of the way, it's time for that EWB Year End Tradition to get underway once more! I'm not going to lie, I've been looking forward to running this one all year. Let's get into the rules.

1. You will be fielding a list of your top fifteen shows of the year. Voting, of course, goes like so; list the shows from 1 to 15, the show you listed at 1 gets fifteen points, the show you listed at 2 gets fourteen points, and so on. That being said, if you didn't watch fifteen TV shows (or fifteen TV shows you actually liked enough to vote for) feel free to just leave the rest of your ballot blank once you run out. That is totally valid!

2. This is a list for your favorite TV shows of 2011, and by that I mean that every show you vote for must have been airing new episodes in its country of origin. So, say, if last year's season of Curb Your Enthusiasm was airing in the UK this year, it's still not eligible to be voted for because there were no new episodes in the US this year.

3. Shows don't necessarily have to be scripted comedies or dramas. Last year we had talk shows, fake news shows, and probably whatever Top Gear counts as. In this year's ballot I'll be voting for a competitive reality show. You can be flexible!

4. That being said, here's a new rule; no wrestling. Come on, guys, we often outright have awards for that stuff, let's keep 'em separated.

5. You don't need to tell me you've edited your list up until I post saying that voting is closed, because that's when I'll start tallying everything. Then if you really, really want to make a change you should probably let me know.

And now you are free to vote. This will be open for the next couple weeks/until voting slows to a grinding halt. Let's party.

Breaking Bad was going to be my shoe-in, but then this season of Sons of Anarchy came along and ruined that. Absolutely fantastic season - incredibly strong start, and there were never any dull moments in any of the episodes. Breaking Bad had a really fantastic season too, though, and one of my favourite visuals of like.. any program this year (even if it was incredibly OTT and reeked of shock value, screw it). Daily Show and Colbert are two of my favourite shows on TV - two of those shows that I can't miss an episode of. Treme barely edges Dexter out, and TWD and Burn Notice round out the top 10.

GoGo, what's your opinion on including Tough Enough? Not sure that I'll have 15 even with it, but then I may just leave it off. Not sure.

Yeah, that's it. Literally the only other show I've watched in 2011 is Dexter, and considering it won with one of it's weaker seasons last year, and is having a dreadful season this year, I refuse to give it points. Depending on how long this stays open, Sons of Anarchy, The League, Workaholics, and maybe Dexter if there's a huge turnaround in quality over the last two episodes might get points. That's still not 15.
