2012 NFL Season

Saying Tebow can't throw a pass for more than twenty yards just shows the complete lack of knowledge of how the guy plays. He's better at throwing passes downfield than he is on short routes. That's the issue with his game. On third-and-five, he can't hit short down-and-outs. Watching the kid play is Step #1 of critiquing his game, but that was a beautiful attempt.

I don't understand why Tebow would pick the Jets over the Jags. Tim must get some real shitty advice from those close to him. Jacksonville is a better opportunity for him as a QB. The Rex Ryan circus is a terrible place for a guy like Tebow.

He would be the starter in Jacksonville without a doubt. Gabbert's the drizzling shits. Sure the whole team has a lot of rebuilding to do but it's the NFL and that doesn't take an entire career, it takes 2 or 3 years.

Oh my god. Just woke up and read all this expecting it to only end one way.

Thank you Tim! Might shut up the Gator brigade now that moaned about how much he wanted to play for his hometown team, although I'm VERY dissapointed that the interest became that strong, especially when the GM would likely walk if Tebow joined.

And half-credit is more than enough. ;)

Only a week ago, Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum recruited Stanton to New York to be the Jets’ No. 2 quarterback behind starter Mark Sanchez. Now, with Tim Tebow in town after Wednesday’s trade with the Broncos, sources said those close to Stanton feel lied to and betrayed.

Stanton turned down the chance to explore two other options and also took less money to go to New York because Tannenbaum was unequivocal that the QB was being brought in to be the No. 2 and the team wouldn’t draft or sign any other QBs. Sources also said Tannenbaum acknowledged Stanton, who performed well in occasional relief in Detroit, likely could earn more elsewhere.

Given Sanchez’s struggles and New York’s success over the past few years, Stanton took a $1.75 million deal from the Jets, based on opportunity and fit. With Tebow in tow, that has changed, and discussions between Stanton and the Jets are expected in the coming days.

this whole thing from the Jets seems really douchey. giving Sanchez a new deal giving him assurance. then convincing Stanton he's the #2 and to come there for opportunity. then this whole Tebow thing.

well players will still go there instead of Miami.

Drew Stanton should absolutely be granted a release, that's bullshit for him. You wouldn't like it if you took a lower-paying position with potentially high rewards over other jobs with more income right off the bat and then a week later your employer goes and brings in a new employee to fill that position you were told you could work your way up to having.

But really, Jets continue to just cause me and most of the rational-thinking world to go "Buhhh." I am thankful every day the Ravens didn't make Rex Ryan the HC back in '08.
