TEW05 All Stars Scenario

Recommended Posts

Saw a couple of topics in the EWR section about a database where all workers would be in there prime and with a collection of the top promotions. Well after looking through them I fancied having a game of one of these and since when it comes to TEW05 databases its easier to do them yourself hence this topic and to gauge if anyone else would be interested in it.

The way I intend on doing this would be to have a workers from a range of eras all in their prime, if needed there would be doubles, for example there would be two Hulk Hogan’s one from the 80’s (Hulkamania) and one from the 90’s (Hollywood), not all workers would have doubles but most would be those well known.

Doing just a quick work out I have the following promotions

Current Promotions Included

- Best of the American Indies

- Chikara

- Combat Zone Wrestling

- Extreme Championship Wrestling

- Legends of American Wrestling

- National Wrestling Alliance

- Pro Wrestling Guerrilla

- Ring of Honor

- Total Nonstop Action Wrestling

- World Championship Wrestling

- World Wrestling Federation (Classic)

- World Wrestling Federation (Attitude)

- World Wrestling Entertainment (Modern)

Possible Future Promotions

- All Japan Pro-Wrestling (Classic)

- All Japan Pro-Wrestling (Modern)

- Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (Classic)

- Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (Modern)

- New Japan Pro-Wrestling (Classic)

- New Japan Pro-Wrestling (Modern)

- Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre

- Empresa Mexicana de la Lucha Libre

- SMASH X HUSTLE

- Best of British Indies

- Best of Canadian Indies

- Best of European Indies

- Best of Japanese Indies

- Best of Mexican Indies

- Legends of CanadaianWrestling

- Legends of English Wrestling

- Legends of European Wrestling

- Legends of Japanese Wrestling

- Legends of Mexcaican Wrestling

I am open to any suggestions for those interested, I can work on rosters and set it up as a good playable game, but I will need a little help on doing Mexico and Japan as my knowledge in those areas is pretty basic.

Just to make it clear that I am still working on my other TEW projects (Women of Wrestling and the monthly updates) and shouldn’t be effected.

This sounds awesome, I'd definitely be interested in this... Ring of Honor could have people like Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson, Nigel McGuiness etc. working for them in their prime too?

Yep thats the plan, all promotions and workers would be in their prime.

For ROH I'd make their prime the mid 00's so at the moment they would be the lowest level promotion in the database (previously it was ECW)

No, I know that exists. But I reckon some people may be interested in the three main women's promotions throughout history.

Well my current plan was to mainly focus on the main promotions who have a bit of history to work from, GLOW and WOW from my understanding would effectively be the same rosters they used when they were running and Shimmer might be viable but since they use the same workers over the years there wouldn’t be that much difference from a current database.

This is not to say I won’t add them in but there are a few promotions I would consider more of a priority than them.

Will you have Kendrick in PWG too?

Independent promotions and their rosters (with the exception of ROH) will be held off till the big leagues get finished however chances are not, I’m trying to limit worker doubles to decades or different gimmicks so there might be a Spanky in ROH but not another Kendrick since the WWE one would be a 00’s decade version.

That is if that makes sense.

The WWE roster looks brilliant!! :) Couple of small suggestions, add Chris Benoit to Smackdown, and maybe Fit Finlay too? Love a bit of Fit Finlay! Also, John Cena could be John Cena from his first couple of years when he played on the rapper gimmick more. A 'heel' Cena who was a bit more edgy.... just a thought.

I'd say maybe just do an "Indie All-Stars" promotion to cover any indie talents that didn't go on to great success in WWE, WCW or elsewhere, or who aren't especially associated with ROH, but are still notable wrestlers; the likes of Mike Quackenbush and Reckless Youth, for example.

For Japan, maybe keep it relatively simple, so a quick overview could maybe look something like this;

NJPW Modern ('99 - present day)

NJPW Classic ('80 - '98)

AJPW Modern ('99 - present day)

AJPW Classic ('80 - '98)

Puroresu Classic (AJPW, NJPW & Misc pre-1980)

(Alternatively, split NJPW and AJPW into three promotions to include a '72 - '80 promotion for each, but as I'm assuming a lot of Japanese talent will be missing from the database, particularly the older workers, and a lot of both Japanese and Western workers may end up duplicated in American promotions, it may spread the rosters a little thin)

Puro Indie All-Stars (Michinoku Pro, HUSTLE, freelancers, etc.)

Shoot Masters (Shooto, UWF-i, Pancrase etc.)

Joshi All-Stars (AJW, JWP, and all modern-day Joshi promotions. Again, could be split into Classic and Modern, but I'd assume the rosters would be a little sparse).

Also, how far back are you looking at going? '80s, I'm guessing? Would it be worth having a few pre-1980 workers as free agents; the likes of Rikidozan, Lou Thesz, Karl Gotch, El Santo, Freddie Blassie, people like that, who definitely deserve to be in an All-Stars scenario, but wouldn't necessarily fit in with the defined promotions and time periods?

When it comes to worker doubles my plan is to try and not exceed two eras/characters unless it is someone exceptional then possibly three (I was contemplating three Ric Flairs before I finished up WWE). The current timeframe in game is roughly early 1980’s (pre WrestleMania) to 2012.

I was thinking about doing a Chikara as a separate promotion especially with all their multiple gimmicks it might be interesting but that “Best of [insert area here]” promotion idea sounds good for each region; it would be the lowest promotion in each region (Small/Regional) but could easily fill the gaps with a lot of talent who go unused. And the old school/pre 80’s promotion sounds good, might be an idea working it like the Indies with a bit of a bigger position (maybe Regional/Cult) and titles something like “Legends of [insert area here]” fill with the old school guys not included in current promotions.

I didn’t have much ideas for the non-North American regions beyond a possible current/classic set up for the big leagues (AJPW,, NJPW, AAA and CMLL) but my knowledge in such areas is pretty limited, one thing I did want to do was to have a HUSTLE/SMASH mash up simply cause I’m and fan and I the one doing this.

Before I go potty and start adding all this extra work I want to get the big US feds done and sorted and get an playable early preview out to fix any issues with the ones everyone has knowledge on, also as of yet I haven’t aged anyone so they are still set to real world ages it just makes it easier when I get round to doing that at the end to avoid confusion on who has been changed.

This looks great so far.

Some ideas.

I wouldn't care if yoy did regional promotions. I'd really like to see a pre-80's legends promotion. A Pure company with a generic World Championship and add some guys like Rikidozan, Lou Thesz, Buddy Rogers, Freddie Blassie maybe, Gorgeous George, etc. I'd freakin' love that.

For Japan

NJPW 80s

NJPW 90s/Modern (I'd put the 90s/modern as one company)

AJPW 80s (if they were popular enough)

AJPW 90s King's Road

NOAH (their current roster hasn't changed all that much, except for a couple, Misawa RIP)

I don't think AJPW is big enough now to have an all-star company.

Maybe a UWF(i), Pancrase, BattlArts hybrid promotion? I'd like that too.

Mexico could have a AAA all-time roster and a CMLL all-star roster.

Totally forgot to post this up, the first roster I actually finished was ECW’s, one thing I want to point out is that ECW is at its limit so cant add anyone without removing someone, in fact I had to remove 8 workers to make the limit.
