Really interesting read from Paul Tomkins on the Pepe Reina situation.

Simon Mignolet has been in better form than Reina, in terms of stopping stops, for a couple of seasons now.

Article seems legit.

Typos aside based on the last three seasons, Mignolet's stats encouraging. He's seemingly not as good at distribution as Reina (which is probably Pepe's greatest asset the Reina to Reira passes of 08/09 were always a thing of beauty).

The one thing about him will be how he copes with playing for a team where there is bigger spotlight on him and where he probably won't be forced to do as much work in theory at Liverpool as he would at Sunderland.

Manchester United manager David Moyes has confirmed to a Yokohama press conference that the club have made a second bid for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas. It is understood United have improved their bid to £30m, plus add-ons for the 26-year-old. However, Sky sources understand that Barca will not make a decision on Fabregas' future until they appoint a successor to coach Tito Vilanova, who stepped down last week to continue his battle against cancer.

Hull are in talks with French club Evian about signing their striker Yannick Sagbo. Bruce is also hoping to be reunited with Wilson Palacios if Stoke will allow the midfielder to leave.

Watford have announced the permanent signings of Ikechi Anya and Reece Brown. Anya played on loan at Vicarage Road last season and moves from Spanish club Granada. He has signed a three-year contract. Brown joins on a free transfer, after the 21-year-old defender was released from Manchester United back in May. He has penned a two-year deal and is the younger brother of former United player Wes.

I think he made a ten minute cameo in the Europa League once. Other than that, just pre-season as far as I'm aware.
