Front 9 has been playing much easier than the back 9 today though. Rickie is even but underhit two putts for birdie. Hasn't been in danger of failing to make par yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if 7 under leads at the end of today.

Louis Oosthuizen shot a -7 in the first round back when he won it here in 2010. So good for Dustin if he can finish strong today.

That said, after the US Open, I'm curious to see how Dustin will finish on Sunday if he's in the running. I'd imagine that three-putt is still weighing heavy on his mind.

He spoke to BBC today after his round and seemed upbeat. He said it just wasn't his time at Chambers Bay and believes he was stroking the ball well, the putts on 18 just didn't fall.

With things expecting to be tough tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised to see a LOT of players in contention come Sunday. Woods did well on the back 9 but needs a miracle tomorrow to make the cut.

Indeed, 7 under is the score to beat at the moment. Looking forward to tomorrow. Things are expected to get tougher so I'm hoping Rickie can string together some birdies and put himself in with a shout over the weekend.
