Pretty much. There are definitely areas that could be expanded upon in a future release, but it's still a lot of fun in its own right. Steam Workshop support means that there are several real world mods around too.

I really want to play this again but I'm very concerned that all the fixes that have been made since I last played will leave my previous tactics obsolete.

I think a self imposed challenge is the way to go in my next career game. Possibly as simple as "no building a shit load of risky parts before the end of the season to make next year easier". Maybe trying to keep one driver from 18 to when they retire.

Honestly, MM's biggest weakness is that once you get a set of tactics they're practically +90% accurate all the time, with only a few adjustments having to be made to account for driver preference and the car he's driving.

After a while it simply gets too easy to get perfect setups where you drive, and that can spoil some of the fun as it takes away from the depth a bit.

I'm playing a demo () and so far I am not sure about it. Its fun by also slightly annoying.
