Out on pens. Two bad luck injuries to Saliba and Tomiyasu fucked our game plan completely. Clearly a far better team when Partey and Odegaard were on but just couldn't do enough. Ramsdale guessed the right way on ever pen but just never had confidence he was saving one so bleh. Seeing lots of people say they don't care, they're glad we lost etc which is mental. The prem is absolutely not even close to being a lock so snubbing your nose at the europa league and even wishing that your own team loses is pathetic. I'm gutted.

The idea that a Guardiola team is above it is laughable

It's concerning how slow we were to get into the game, and the poor static defending for the opener is frustrating, so we absolutely can't complain about making things difficult for ourselves but fucking hell. What was that, 5 penalty shouts waved off in one game? It's mental Arsenal have only had 2 penalties given all season, and then you see that happen all in one game. And you see people saying we're lucky! Hopefully after this game and especially Villa, teams will learn to stop wasting time against us.

For the sake of an experience that hadn't already been brought up, in the same vein as Tristys post: when you finally get into the cigarette maze in Control, starting to feel very powerful with the abilities and starting to turn the tide...and the Old Gods of Asgard song Take Control kicks in is one of the most epic badass moments I've had.

Much better second half, hopefully helps us push on and regain some of the quality we had before the world cup. I have to fully admit I was not behind the Jorginho signing at all but he's putting in a shift so fair play to him. I do not want to see Nketiah start again, for someone who came up through the youth team for us and England being so lethal in front of goal, his finishing is absolutely shocking.

I'm not dumb enough to go all in on the "refs are against us" conspiracy but that is absolutely fucking infuriating. I'd rather they said nothing than come out and go "oh I forgot whoopsie!". Holy fuck.

It's like this team has forgotten entirely how to play football. I really hoped our season wouldn't collapse after such a bright start but we're never going to challenge City for the league if we don't start clicking again the way we were before.

Don't think any of our players had a good game there. Its only a catastrophe if we don't bounce back from this result though. Still no reason to throw the towel in but the time-wasting and gamesmanship is infuriating when nothing gets done about it. Give us 6 minutes extra time, watch them waste every second of it and just blow the whistle anyway? Bah. They had the better chances, we could have easily gotten back into it if any of our shots were actually on target but here we are.

Its not even necessarily about him as a player for me, really. We're top of the league in an incredible position to actually win it out of nowhere, we desperately need some quality improvements and statement of intent type of signings and instead we go for...yet another Chelsea cast off? Its genuinely disheartening that we are in this position and yet still conducting business like amatuers.

The fact that we hanged with our B team against them and arguably had the better chances is by far a positive sign, but I'm still gutted to be going out of the cup.

Interesting to read about the Xbox situation, it hasn't really occurred to me but I haven't actually switched on my Series S in months. I don't have that big of a backlog tbf but I can't remember the last time I looked forward to an Xbox game release. Game pass is excellent and the fact they add top tier games so quickly is awesome but still...I've had Fallen Order downloaded for ages and haven't bothered with it but I saw its one of the playstation plus games this month and downloaded it for the PS5 before remembering. It's definitely a weird time right now.
