  1. You could try www.metacritic.com, it's a nice site that collects various reviews on music, games and movies and is pretty nicely searchable. However, it is mainstream-oriented, so prepare to be disappointed.
  2. RATM and One Minute Silence have both been mentioned, so... I'll go with Godflesh and Dimension Zero. GOD they made some excellent metal
  3. Cannibal Corpse, probably. Get a lot of crap, especially Chris Barnes, but I them.

http://www.myspace.com/goescube ^^ Download the song named "Slagkick", it's hilarious.
  5. "Cold Murderous Music" by Carpathian Forest "Dracul Va Domni Din Nou In Transilvania" by Marduk "Exit - Through Carved Stones" by Gorgoroth "Future Breed Machine (Mayhem Version)" by Meshuggah Anything by Ministry or Nailbomb The albums "Cold Dark Matter" and "Sick Transit Gloria Mundi" by Red Harvest Tiamat's "Prey"
  6. I consider the Command & Conquer series, Warcraft/Starcraft, Age Of Empires etc. RTS-games which are based on mass unit spamming, overwhelming rushing and micromanagering overrated. An endless list of micromanagering does not make for appealing combat, especially when you need ADHD to win battles. Games such as the Total War series (Shogun, Medieval, Rome), the new WH40K: Dawn Of War and such others that are more based on realistic combat with realistic-sized armies without the need to micromanage in battle and with the need for actual strategy and tactics do it much better for me. I also dislike the Quake series with a passion. Too simple for single player, too simple for multiplayer. Unreal Tournament is much, much, MUCH more fun at LAN parties than any Quake could ever be.
  7. I knew it, Rage was the only band of mine that made the list The amount of faggotry is evident. j/k people, here, have a bunch of owls: http://yearoftheowl.ytmnd.com/
  8. Never heard of Attaku, but Buried Inside is a nice blend between hardcore, metal and prog. If you ever heard of bands such as Neurosis or Isis, they're something along of those lines.
  9. The best I can offer to you is to get Half-Life and scrounge the Internet for the "They Hunger"-set of mods for it. It's a three-part scenario about a village being run over by zombies, and excellently done in my opinion. There is a new zombie game coming out I believe, called the Land Of The Dead and developed by American McGee, supposed to be an X-Com style squad-based tactical combat game against hordes and hordes of zombies in the apocalyptic world of tomorrow. It has me drooling at least.
  10. The best mashup ever done in the history of the world.
  11. Can't go wrong with some doom like Cathedral, Reverend Bizarre, Teeth Of Lions Rule The Wicked or Sunn0)))). There are some individual depressing songs on my playlist as well, including the following: "The Apollo Programme Was A Hoax" by Refused "Beautiful World" by Rage Against The Machine "Masturbates" and "J" by Mindless Self Indulgence (OK, so "J" is 22 seconds long, but who cares. I think they are depressing) Neurosis have a crapload of depressing songs as well, such as "No River To Take Me Home", "The Eye Of Every Storm", "A Sun That Never Sets" and "Stones From The Sky". Recommended.
  12. I went to see Hawkthorne Heights just so I could catch Poison The Well as the supporting act. I couldn't give two shits about HH, but Poison... Damn they rocked.
  13. I see that, once again, no one seems to get what this list is.
  14. I demand an explanation on the nature of this faggotry which places Pantera and Slayer there. And SeanDMan, it is not all over the music map. It will be an emo/indie list with rap influences. Slayer and Pantera are there to add just a hint of credibility... But whatcha going to do when they're in the lowest fourth of the group? Faggotry I says.
  15. OUCH. If THESE guys are this low this year... Who the hell is on top? I'd wager none of the bands I mentioned will get on the list this year either, sans Rage Against The Machine (did I even nominate them this year? Can't remember)
  16. By Dambalah, do shamans own or what? I've done a few battleground runs in the last few days, and even though I'm not much of an experienced PvP player, the sheer versatility of a shaman makes it ideal to kill pretty much any other class. So far, it's the perfect anti-caster with doublehander weapons and mail armor with interrupt instants like Earth Shock and Purge, and can hang around with warriors and other melee-oriented classes mainly thanks to the totems and the buffs. So far, pretty much the only class I've had actual trouble beating is paladins, especially if they know how to play. I had the pleasure of fighting a paladin of my level the other day in Warsong Gulch, and since we were the highest-leveled players in the battle, we pretty much fought each other constantly, with him beating my ass about 70% of the time. Symbol Of Justice or something like that was murder. Now, rogues, they're tricky, but with a shaman, it's about 50/50 chance against any rogues. If I can negate the first strike from them, it's pretty much over as totems won't allow them to restealth while they lose in melee to a mass spam of different Shocks and buffed-up twohander beating. Also, with Frost Shocks and Earthbind Totems they can't even Sprint away to restealth/bandage, allowing a shaman to keep the beating up until they're as dead as a doornail. Anyone else share my love for the shamans? ^_^
  17. All of these are "current". Best sub 3 minute song: "Seven Angels, Seven Trumpets" by Marduk Best plus 7 minute song: "March Into The Sea" by Pelican Best use of guitars in a band (not in an individual song, and not a guitairst...just the name of the band who uses the guitars to thier best in your opinion) : Meshuggah (their dual quitarists own some serious ass) Best use of drums in a band (see the same as above, just with drums and not guitars tongue.gif): Now this is a bit harder. I'll still say Meshuggah & Tomas Haake, with Dying Fetus and The Berzerker tied for a close second Best Lyricist: Zach De La Rocha Best Vocalist: Angela Gossow (she is just too fucking scary. Seriously) Best Dark Band (as in, the best band with dark lyrics): TOO MANY TO NAME :'( Marduk, Bloodbath, Leng Tch'e, Pig Destroyer, Meshuggah... Best Light Band (as in, best band with lighter, happier lyrics): Under17 FTW Best use of emotion (simply put, the band who uses emotion best in thier music): Corporate Avenger (damn, they are ANGRY!)
  18. For Killswitch Engage/Lamb Of God, the following groups: Hatebreed Hatesphere Cataract Unearth For Rage Against The Machine: One Minute Silence For political rap music: Corporate Avenger
  19. 1. Meshuggah 2. Pelican 3. Pig Destroyer 4. Bloodbath 5. Arch Enemy 6. Carnal Forge 7. The Berzerker 8. Agoraphobic Nosebleed 9. Marduk 10. Rage Against The Machine
  20. If you're looking for straight-up sludge metal, take The Melvins and Soilent Green. However, both of them are quite a far away from all of the bands you mentioned, so maybe not. Other groups I've heard being mentioned: Mouth Of The Architect Red Sparowes (could be Sparrows, my mate was kind of vague on that name) Explosions In The Sky Godspeed You! Black Emperor A Silver Mt. Zion
  21. You could check out Bloodbath, a side project by Opeth's singer and featuring members of Katatonia and others. Heavier than hell itself.
