  1. Receptions and yards do not equal points. You can't win games without scoring which is why using yardage as the way to rank teams on offense and defense is retarded. I'll take a guy who has 60-70 catches for 900 yards with 8+ TDs over a guy with 100-120 catches for 1100-1200 yards with only 3-6 TDs every year. Welker is a glorified part of the running game. A top receiver mixes in a TD every 8-12 receptions. In his entire career he's caught 274 passes, and has all of 10 TDs, while Anquan Boldin has caught 10 TDs this season, and he even missed a couple of games due to injury. Okay, but the point right there is that Welker is used differently then Boldin. They do not use Welker as a deep threat or a TD Machine. They use Welker because he is the kind of the guy who will consistently make catches and get yards.
  2. Welker reminds me of that similarly sized white guy on Texas Tech (Morris?) who basically dives into the ground to avoid contact on a crossing pattern. I know that smaller guys need to pick their spots, but there's a distinct difference between play smart and being afraid to take a hit to get a first down/TD. I think Welker falls into the latter category which is why he has 1 TD this year out of 66 catches, which is almost identical to what he did two years ago (1 TD/67 receptions). He might be the least productive "name" receiver since Me-Shawn Johnson (2001 season, 106 catches, 1 TD) That is absolutely not true. I've seen pretty much every game the Patriots have played this season and I've never noticed Welker being afraid to take a hit. I think it's more a fact that he's just not getting the opportunity to score. I mean to call him not productive is just plain wrong. This season Welker has the most yards of any Patriots WR. Two years ago he had just as many yards after 16 games then he does now only after 10. He's averaging 10 receiving yards a catch and for 72 receptions that's pretty impressive. Then you look at last year the guy had over 112 receptions for 1100 yards. He's only 400 yards behind where he was last year and that's without Tom Brady or a consistent effective running game. You can't just look at his TD's with Welker.
  3. Wow, Patriots are just stinking the place up.
  4. Me and my friend just beat it in about 6 hours or so. Awesome game, even made us both cry at one point (if you've gotten far into it you'll know what part).
  5. Yeah but I really liked the Dawn of the Dead remake though.
  6. I think it's a great song. Not sure what's wrong with it.
  7. I totally hooked on this game, although I find myself having to run around and find ammo more then run run around and complete quests. Still, the most compelling videogame I've played in awhile.
  8. I was really loving this game until the Star Destroyer level. I would move the thing three times but then after that the TIE's would come out to quickly for me to make any sort of major change in the ship's positions. I just grew frustrated and read both endings so I didn't have to bother anymore. It's too bad because I was really liking it.
  9. Those will be my picks for the week.

    W?

I really wanted to like it because I like Oliver Stone and the acting all around was fantastic...but I hated it. It was just so cookie cutter, really. The behind the scenes stuff like the whole planning to attack Iraq stuff was great but the back story of Bush was just boring and uninteresting.
  11. Well this was a nice surprise. If you looked at the score and knew nothing about The Patriots season you'd think Tom Brady was still playing. Cassel still gets sacked way too much though but at least it looks like we have some kind of run game going.
  12. W. - 5/10 Eh, just felt boring. I loved Oliver Stone's Nixon biopic and really wanted to like this movie but I just couldn't. Maybe it's because they were trying to make Bush sympathetic and I have absolutely no sympathy for the man. Josh Brolin was great, as was the rest of the cast too.

    True Blood

I think it's great. I've never really liked a lot of things in the Vampire genre but this show is so different that I find myself compelled to watch it. What more could we expect from the Six Feet Under creator though, really?
  14. I have played both and I prefer 2k9 but Live 09 is slowly starting to catch up.
  15. Well if they wanted to make a habit out of unorthodox picks for directers then they continue it here. I loved Branagh's Hamlet movie so I don't mind the choice at all one bit.
  16. Loved it. I agree with Bill Maher's views on religion 100% so I found it just hugely entertaining. Basically it was Bill Maher saying everything I've ever wanted to say to some of these groups. My personal favorite part was when he mentioned Scientology and the crowd started laughing to which Bill said something like, "Oh Scientology is crazy but there's nothing in Christianity that's as crazy right?" I loved that part because I've always hated people bagging on Scientology and yet say nothing about the fairy tales in Christianity. I seriously wanted to clap at that part. Chances are if you are not religious you'll love this movie and if you are religious you won't see it, which is too bad.
  17. Not really. It's more like children saving adults who are too thick headed to save themselves. It's actually fairly good. The first book was the best of the series though.
  18. Just the other day when I watched "Once" for the first time. The song "Falling Slowly" gave me chills twice in the same movie. Before that though I'd have to go with Tristy's pick "In This Twilight" by NIN.
  19. Really? That's odd because Episode III was actually the best Prequel. Really? How the hell did you fall asleep?
  20. I think it looks great. I love the whole look of the movie.
  21. What do you mean? We hardly even get to see present Peter.
  22. What's with Aintitcoolnews hating on the show?
  23. It wasn't that they lost. It's how they lost.
