  1. Even Digsy's Dinner? Though it is actually one of the relatively few Oasis songs I like.
  2. "Gold" by Ryan Adams. I bought it ages ago because I liked the single "New York, New York". Didn't get into the rest of the album at all and it was just dead weight on my iPod for a while until various songs would pop up on my shuffle until I began to love them all. Now it is quite possibly my favourite album,
  3. I heard "Call Me" by Franz on the radio the other day. I'd agree that it was nothing special but I enjoyed listening to it nonetheless. Covers of "Heroes" and "Transmission" sound interesting but I'm not a big fan of TV On The Radio or Hot Chip. Rufus Wainwright doing songs from SMiLE does sound very interesting. I quite like The Hold Steady. Well I like the album I have of theirs from 2005 at least. It would be a shame if they actually have become like Snow Patrol since then. I might look out for it. EDIT: Listening to 30 second samples from itunes right now. Hardly a good way to judge a full album but I can't afford it and I'm not going to pirate a charity album. I have some standards. >_> Bob Dylan cover sounds pretty good. I like "Do The Strand". Not sure about this version though. It's okay I suppose. Straight To Hell sounds decent. Does Mick Jones actually sing in it? Live and Let Die sounds awful. Oh wait the "reggae" bit is actually alright. Elbow...nah I like Heroes by TVOTR. And I don't actually like them all that much. Transmission is better than I expected. I'd agree it isn't very good though. Kooks doing Kinks...not dreadful. Not very exciting either. Vocal backing thing on Superstition is irritating. I might like it but for that. Rufus Wainwright makes Wonderful sound like his own. I like. Search & Destroy sounds alright. Nothing special but I would happily listen to it. Atlantic City is my favourite Bruce Springsteen song from my favourite Bruce Springsteen album. I like this cover actually. When it kicks in. I don't like Elvis Costello. Or this cover. Don't like YYY's cover. I love Call Me. This is probably my favourite song on the album actually. FURTHER EDIT: "Nothing Compares 2 U" (originally by The Family) - Stereophonics Found that on one of the other War Child albums. I need to hear this! hehe... Prodigy doing Ghost Town sounds fun. Blur — "Eine Kleine Lift Musik" - I think I also want to hear this. YET ANOTHER EDIT: Does anyone remember that charity John Lennon album? That was funny shit. U2 doing Instant Karma was surprisingly alright but you also had Avril Lavigne doing Imagine, Green Day ruining Working Class Hero and Duran Duran shitting all over Instant Karma. Tokio Hotel also ruined Instant Karma. Who are Tokio Hotel? And #9 Dream already sounds like REM. It's not like they needed to do much adaptation. And they didn'tt. haha
  4. hahaha and Arthur Numan was the white Roberto Carlos.
  5. Why did you tell me to download that Patients thing if it didn't even get into your top 5? Eh?
  6. 18. After The Gold Rush (1970) Neil Young Over the past year this album has become the soundtrack to my Saturday mornings. It's relaxed, tuneful and just pretty much awesome, making it the ideal LP to put on after a late - and more often than not messy - Friday night. I've nursed a number of hangovers with this album playing in the background. With Saturday morning also being my time for cleaning up before heading home for the weekend I've also folded my clothes, cleaned the sink and washed the dishes on a number of occasions with this album playing. Anyway, it's all about the music rather than my cleaning anecdotes isn't it? And it's all fantastic too. Neil Young has made a splendid career for himself by always keeping his music simple, which all the more effectively allows his amazing gift for medlody to shine, as it does on every tune here. "Tell Me Why", "After The Gold Rush" and "Don't Let It Bring You Down" are three of the most evocative songs I have ever heard. Obviously I've never been in California in the early 70s, but those songs especially conjure up such a vivid image of it. They're all lovely songs and I've listened to them any number of times. Besides the more folky vibe of the aforementioned three songs the album also has a more rocky side. "Southern Man" is a song that is rightfully recognised as one of his classics, built around CSNY style harmonies and a gritty guitar line. "When You Dance You Can Really Love" is another gritty riffy harmony filled classic. With the short "Cripple Creek Ferry" and "Till The Morning Comes" Young ventures every so slightly into whimsy, yet the results are still excellent. This could be said for any of this albums eleven tracks. Best songs: After The Gold Rush, Don't Let It Bring You Down, Only Love Can Break Your Heart, Southern Man, Tell Me Why Next up... Is a post-rock masterpiece from Iceland! Thanks for reading!
  7. Oh I didn't notice this. I will download it tomorrow.
  8. http://search.musicnotes.com/?q=voodoo%20c...mp;affsid=MN-16 It's going to cost you though. There was a website I used a couple of times ages ago that had free sheet music but I've no idea where to find it now. Why don't you just look up a tab and rewrite it out? If it's just the opening bit it shouldn't take too long.
  9. That only works if you have the correct resolution, so it's unlikely it will work if you have a laptop for example. In those circumstances you can try this:
  10. Glen Johnson and Ben May. I remember it fairly well. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2007/ja...ewsstory.sport3 Ben May was amazing on CM 01/02 but he's pretty mediocre in real life I think. That is all I know of him.
  11. I seem to drag up this list every time happy songs are mentioned. I'm A Cuckoo - Belle & Sebastian Step Into My Office, Baby - Belle & Sebastian Down On The Street - Adam Green I'm Not Gonna Teach Boyfriend How To Dance With You - Black Kids Our Bovine Public - The Cribs Coney Island - Death Cab For Cutie Piazza New York Catcher - Belle & Sebastian The Mixed Tape - Jack's Mannequin Up On the Roof - James Taylor D.A.N.C.E. - Justice Gravity's Rainbow - Klaxons Dont' Look Back Into The Sun - The Libertines Death To Los Campesinos! - Los Campesinos! Disconnect the Dots - Of Montreal Leave It Alone - Operator Please Nothing Better - The Postal Service Stay Away - Rooney When Did Your Heart Go Missing? - Rooney Turn On Me - The Shins The Man of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts - Sufjan Stevens Your Smiling Face - James Taylor
  12. There is actually nothing in the world better than coming home from a good night out and putting on October Road by James Taylor.
  13. Oh if we're doing it for the teams we support now... Kris Boyd and Steven Naismith back to Kilmarnock.
  14. It would help if he was anywhere near as good as his dad as well.
  15. I hate that Duncan Ferguson going back to Everton from Newcastle is the only example I can think of whenever this sort of thing is mentioned.
  16. I have a ticket now. Persuading other people to come right now. Train for £18 return. Not bad at all...
  17. So I thought it has been some time since my last pointless music topic so I have come up with this. To you I pose the question: Crosby, Stills, Nash OR Young? I'd say Neil Young. Although I do love them all together.
  18. Andrea Corr. She is still holding up nicely too.
  19. I did that on FM 2009 ages ago. FOR ASTON VILLA. That's specialer.
  20. Last ICC I played was the 2005 one I think. I didn't enjoy it that much though I love the concept. Have the more recent ones improved any?
  21. I am going by bus yes. I hope I am seated within spitting distance of the Man Utd right wing.
  22. Everyone prefers covers of Talking Heads songs. They are wrong! :@
