  1. I thought it was a good episode as things continue to pick up heading into the finale next week. I can only hope it turns out to be just the fall finale and the strike gets resolved in time to finish the season after Christmas. Sylar continues to be awesome, and it looks like we've started seeing the beginning of the end of the twins. One down...one to go. Not sure why Maya didn't find it out that Sylar was being all creepy with Molly, but she's proven to be one of the most naive characters ever. Speaking of naive, hopefully Peter is able to see past Adam's charade and team up with Hiro, but the end of the episode with Hiro was definitely great. As was the showdown between Claire and Elle. The stuff with the medal and kidnapping seemed a bit random, and was the only stuff I didn't really like about the episode. Not sure where they're going with it, but have been given little reason to care about Monica or her fate.
  2. I agree, that episode was great...I knew once he got shot that HRG wasn't going to stay dead, thankfully. But it's good to see Wes being a tolerable character this episode. The only downside is that just as things are picking up and getting good, we only have 2 episodes left.
  3. I think it's because at the time he wasn't in control of his powers. If he was in control, I'd think he'd just choose to not blow up.
  4. I'm kinda torn on the flash forward idea...I mean on one hand I think the "what happens after they get rescued" aspect could be very interesting, but it definitely does ruin some of the suspense. But they did manage to raise even more questions in a flash forward so in a way it could work but only if used sparingly. I don't think I want the main part of the show to be the "Future" with the island becoming the "Flashbacks" And I'm assuming the Walt thing was just a vision? Since if it wasn't they'd have to explain the fact that Walt has aged so much...he could be using whatever special ability he had to appear to Locke much like he did with Shannon. And even though they've signed for those three remaining seasons, I'm sure if the bottom really fell out they could still buy out of the contract and cancel it.
  5. And I doubt Jack would get all emotional over Locke dying.
  6. Was very unimpressed by this episode and was left asking "So what?" about all of it. I guess it was basically filler to tie up loose ends of the other island, get Sawyar and Kate back to the main island, etc. After two episodes where the flashbacks actually meant something, I once again felt like the flashbacks in this episode much like the rest of the season were there just to be there. Sure we learned about Jack's tattoo, but it wasn't nearly as an interesting story as it has been built up to be. That being said, next week looks much better.
  7. I know some people didn't really like Juliette's flashback, and while I didn't think it was the greatest I was glad to see a flashback that actually meant something for once this season. The other 6 episodes the flashbacks really had been underwhelming to me, even Locke's episode which usually are so good. It felt like for the most part they were just putting them in because they had to. I guess that's to be expected when you start to flashback material for some characters or they wanted to focus more on the action, but this episode felt more like the previous season's where the flashback's meant more.
  8. What did everyone think of last night's episode? Personally, I thought it wasn't that great and was a bit boring actually. It was definitely lacking. Maybe it's that I don't really care about the backstory of Jin/Sun or that we're still not seeing all our main characters. I liked the last 15 minutes or so and the part where Sawyer tried to take on the Others. Although, I am looking forward to next week.
  9. I thought the episode was pretty good, but then again I was just glad to finally get some new episodes. For those wanting the other survivors, next week it looks like their going to get word from Hurley about Jack, Sawyer, and Kate and attempt a rescue. From the previews, next week looks like it is going to be better than the season premiere. Although Lost is always good at making their previews look good
  10. Jericho: Pilot - 6/10 I wasn't really that impressed with the pilot, but I think there is some promise here. I'll be sure to atleast watch the next couple of weeks to see if I want to stick around.
  11. Ironically enough a Hurricane/tropical storm is scheduled to be moving into NC on Wednesday...could that be a sign?
  12. Good news for Jerichoholic, those undeserving Hurricanes are going to the Stanley Cup finals, Great game in an outstanding series. And it looks like the finals will match up about the same, so hopefully we can expect just as good games to come.
  13. It wouldn't surprise me if her father was perhaps the higher up in the Dharma Initiative or the Hanso Foundation. We've heard several times that there was someone even higher up than the guy we believe to be the leader of the "Others." We know her father is rich...and that'd be the only way I could think of her knowing what to look for.
  14. Hurricanes fans suck? During their run to the Stanley Cup finals the RBC Center was the loudest arena in hockey. Every game in this playoffs have been from what I've heard jampacked and have been just as loud as they were a few years back. To say the Hurricanes have horrible fans would be a very close minded thing to say. Just watching the games you can hear the crowd into the game the entire time and are one of the reasons the Hurricanes were one of the best home teams in the NHL. Every playoff game has fans showing up hours before the game for tailgating. Sure, no one will ever think of Carolina or the South as a hockey area. Carolina is known for its rich tradition in college basketball, and before a few years ago no one would've ever thought of tailgating at a hockey game, but the Eastern Conference Championship season saw the area get bit by the hockey bug. The one negative I can say is right now when it comes to hockey, we're very "fair weather" fans in that the seasons between playoff appearance's we didn't really have much interest. But if we can string together more succesful seasons in a row, you could see the interest in hockey grow and see more support even in down years. But the game will most likely be sold out by Saturday and the arena will no doubt be as loud as any other team you see in the playoff. Sorry if I went off a bit there, I just felt like I needed to defend my state.
  15. I watched it yesterday on youtube but it has since been taken down because of copyright infringement. However, here is the full transcript, including the audition tape of Stephen as Press Secretary (which did have a few parts cut out of what was shown last night on the Colbert Report). Transcript here

  18. Yeah that was my reasoning, but I should've known not to use momentum as a measure of success to the NCAA tournament...just look at Syracuse and Iowa. Luckily I called Syracuse, and Iowa losing only hurt me for the second round, but yeah with Kansas I really should've known better.
  19. And with that, not only do i lose my first Sweet 16 team but I also lose a Final Four Team. Thank you very much Kansas. I should've known...first Bucknell got them last year, now Bradley. I should've known better. Hold me.
  20. So close yet so far. But it wasn't too long ago 16 seeds were being completely blown out every game and this year each of them made it close for atleast a while before being over taken. I did most of my picks off of my gut and tried not to think about them too much. My gut told me George Mason but I decided to go with Michigan St....d'oh. And Herb Sendek probably just saved his job.
  21. Wow, so far so good for Albany. It'd ruin my bracket but I'm rooting for them to prove me wrong.
  22. So far so good..not just tournament games themselves which have been great but I haven't lost a Sweet 16 team yet...though that could change, especially since I do have a couple questionable picks (such as Texas A&M, Wisc-Milwaukee, and Bucknell getting another upset into the Sweet 16). Though there's still several games to be played, my Washington bracket is clean. Minneapolis I only got Nevada/Montana wrong and so far I only got Alabama/Marquette wrong in Oakland. Atlanta's been my worst bracket so far, as I predicted UNCW over GW...so close too...and then the upset of Northwestern ruined Iowa. The 16th seeds all looked pretty good and it looks like they're getting closer and closer to pulling off the upset. It has to happen one day, and with UConn still to play...it won't this year, but all the 16 seeds so far showed at some point in the game that they could play with the one seeds, even if they couldn't keep it up for the entire game. But it's only a matter of time. I hope the tournament games stay this exciting though, because so far it's been pretty wild.
  23. There's no way Duke is losing in the first round. And I don't say that was a Duke fan, confident in my team...I say that because Duke gets a bye in the first round.
