  1. Christ, there's still replays in the 3rd Round? What a waste of time. So that's Calvert-Lewin suspended when he shouldn't have been sent off, McNeil injured and possibly out for the season, and the players have to play at least 90 more minutes of pointless football when we've got the Premier League to worry about. Happy Third Round Weekend indeed.
  2. The thing is, Chicago could feasibly trade back a couple of places and still get Harrison, depending on how the draft order shakes out. Have to think the Pats and Commanders will both want a shot at a QB, either Williams or Maye.
  3. Very pleased for the team for beating the Eagles. I'm hoping this dispells any notion of moving on from Kyler in the draft.
  4. The Guardian names The Bear top of their Top 50 TV Shows of the year list, and I'm glad because whilst I don't watch a ton of brand new tele, I have recently gone through this entire series (bar the finale) and have absolutely loved it. The quality of the acting, dialogue, scene-setting and visuals are just so brilliant and I've really enjoyed the second season's character deep-dives, particularly for Marcus and Richie.
  5. I can't be arsed with any of it. Metalman has nailed it really. Any ESL that does come about surely won't look much different from the new Champions League format anyway. It's all bollocks made by and serving the interests of the monied few at the top. The fans and the players, surely the most crucial element of football at any level, are not considered or consulted on any of it.
  6. Has he really not played a single minute in the Premier League? That's surely an unnecessary squad space, and neither he nor Barcelona will be at all happy with the lack of minutes.
  7. Is it? Their form is appalling to be honest, and whilst he has done an amazing job there in getting them up and keeping them up, it does feel as if maybe he has done all he can with them. The next thing will be how well they do now. I'm not convinced by Nuno, although he did a great job at Wolves. And I suspect Cooper will land at one of the next Premier League clubs to sack their manager - you could see Crystal Palace or even West Ham giving him a go before long.
  8. That is very sad - his performance in Max Payne 3 was incredible, and a big reason why it's one of my favourite games I've ever played.
  9. Bailey Zappe just threw the sort of pick that I think I'd make if I was in the NFL.
  10. Liverpool and their players will surely be delighted to have "missed out" then.
  11. Latest update on Tom Lockyer from Luton's official website: 17:40 Update We are able to provide a further, positive update on Tom Lockyer’s condition. Our medical staff have confirmed that the Hatters captain suffered cardiac arrest on the pitch, but was responsive by the time he was taken off on the stretcher. He received further treatment inside the stadium, for which we once again thank the medical teams from both sides. Tom was transferred to hospital, where we can reassure supporters that he is stable and currently undergoing further tests with his family at his bedside. We would like to thank everyone for their support, concern and loving messages for Locks.
  12. How about Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber, which is their full official entry name?
  13. This collection of clips fully got me crying.
  14. Dreadful news to wake up to. Andre Braugher as Captain Holt is my favourite character ever in sitcom. He had an incredible talent, I always enjoyed watching him on the screen and still will. He's gone far too soon.
  15. Whilst the incident itself is serious, I cannot do anything other than laugh when I see this image of the referee in hospital today, because of how ridiculous and cartoonish it looks:
  16. Frank Wycheck has died at the age of 52, following a fall at his home The architect of the Music City Miracle, which is one of my favourite ever plays. Wycheck had to step down from his broadcast role with the Titans a few years ago due to health issues that he believed were because of CTE. He also once had a match in TNA, which for some reason sticks in my memory because at the time I didn't know anything about the NFL. So he was actually one of the first players I was ever aware of.
  17. Only a few points off a European place, even. Dyche has done a brilliant job, the squad is very small and we didn't have much to reinforce in the summer. I'm really pleased with the progress this season.
  18. Pep's really having a hard time at the moment. Yes, it must be really difficult being the best team with the biggest resources who win all the time, having it pointed out when they do historically worse than they or Pep himself have before. Where's that violin...
  19. Emery is a fantastic manager, he's proven that plenty in his career. Fair play to Villa for this, beaten two title challengers in the space of 4 days and now look like contenders themselves. Brilliant effort.
  20. Great win, we've been due a scoreline like that this season. Amazing to be out of the bottom three. As an Everton fan who lives in Newcastle and works with a bunch of Toon fans, you can imagine how delighted I am tonight.
  21. David Squires does pretty much depict him as such in his Guardian cartoon to be fair.
  22. We've just missed out on playing Leeds at home, after losing to Peterborough yesterday. That's a shame, not least because I'm in Doncaster that weekend with my Leeds-supporting girlfriend. Tyne/Wear derby is a cracker to come out the hat, they've not played a competitive game against each other in nearly 8 years.

    Spotify Wrapped.

I also got the Halestorm message, and they were 4th on my ranking. They do happen to be just about my favourite band though, so I'm not mad at it. I've just discovered in writing this post that you can view all the Thank You videos by your top artists on the "Wrapped" section, and mine include Kate Stables and Black Stone Cherry, who are not actually in my top 5, so it's worth having a look at. My top 5s were: ARTISTS 1. Black Spiders 2. Alice in Chains 3. Bring Me The Horizon 4. Halestorm 5. Skindred SONGS 1. Alright Alright Alright by Black Spiders 2. Down in a Hole by Alice in Chains 3. Set Fazers by Skindred 4. Hot Wheels by Black Spiders 5. Situation by Yazoo Yazoo looks like an outlier there, but I do like my 80s stuff and that band/song in particular is a sentimental one between me and my girlfriend. I had 51 genres, 2780 songs and 719 artists across 41,606 minutes, which I'm happy with as I try to listen to as much different stuff as possible, even heavy rock music has dominated by top 5s. If you add the 2023 Playlist to your Library, I think those songs are in order too, so not far behind the ones above I also had music by the likes of Kate Stables, Dave Alvin, Nirvana, Maneskin, Eric B & Rakim, Go_A, Viagra Boys, Paramore and Japanese Breakfast. So I think it's decently varied when I dig down past the top 5.
