  1. I really hope not. Feels like a scapegoat move to me. Everyone in Detroit likes Schwartz and he's the best coach the team has had in a very, very long time.
  2. I need the Lions not to choke so that they can go to the playoffs! Lions with the touchdown but CJ couldn't get the 2-point conversion. Love just having the option to throw it up man-to-man to Johnson, but poor execution this time 'round. Let's hope this defense can get a stop and Jacoby Jones doesn't sneak through this kick off. EDIT: WHAT THE FUCK. I CANT BELIEVE HE MADE THAT.
  3. Wow CJ really is not playing hot tonight.
  4. Can we just do organic pictures placed in a black frame of a specific pixel-width? Cutting individual wrestlers just to put on some stupid background is a complete waste of time working on one wrestler when you could have made seven or eight others during the time spent finding a good picture and cutting it.
  5. I think there is a big difference between collisions where the runner violently targets the catch, and collisions where the base runner goes shoulder to shoulder with the catcher. Buster's position was why he shattered his leg. The whole point of knocking the catcher is to prop the ball out, not to injure the catcher. There should be fines for head to head intentions or results, but I'm sick of victimizing there guys that literally play a sport for a living and make millions of dollars. Oh you took a hard hit and injured yourself? Boo hoo.
  6. So the MLB is planning on banning home-plate collisions, one of the classic images of the sport itself. Don't really like this, just because there are a few freak incidents doesn't mean the entire idea has to be eliminated. Apparently catchers won't be allowed to block the plate and runners aren't allowed to target the catcher. Always thought it was an exciting play when it happens. If Buster Posey was a nobody this would be a non-issue. I bet San Francisco's front office was a leader in this movement.
  7. 'Do you watch video game youtube videos?' No, I have a life.
  8. So this is a subject concerning foreign workers in the game that I've had some trouble coming to a conclusion about. Obviously, EWR is meant to act as a simulator for North American pro wrestling, and can suffice realistic gameplay related to American, Canadian, and Mexican promotions. This leaves one area of the real world, however, left to a different system of interaction with the user: Japanese touring promotions. There is no reason for me to go into detail on how the game uses Japanese promotions and its touring systems, since we're all well versed with EWR by now. My concern is a bit specific, and relates to my development of future Wrestling at WAR scenarios, and perhaps more straight timeline databases like my August 1996 MASTERS scenario. The reason I have been debating this with myself for awhile goes back to my introduction of Japanese workers in my Wrestling at WAR scenario. The second version I released included realistic rosters for Japanese promotions around in 1996, adding plenty of Japanese workers into the database, especially big names whom the user may be appropriately interested in using. In fact, in my alternate universe, World Star Wrestling has a prominent working relationship with All Japan Pro Wrestling, so the inclusion of workers like Misawa, Akiyama, and Kawada available for hire if the user had chosen WSW to play with, was an important aspect I wanted to include in the database. However, having played multiple games, I've reached an awkward point in the scenario's development that has me at a cross-roads. No matter what promotion you choose, Japanese workers will always be picked up by five out of the six promotions in the database. This makes for, quite frankly, unrealistic signings. In my scenario is the company Hollywood Championship Wrestling, "owned" by Richard Branson and headlined by guys like Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, and Kevin Nash. Obviously, a promotion built around the sports entertainment style of wrestling, and not one to hire guys from Japan just because they have higher stats. So when companies like HCW and WWF hire Japanese workers with high stats, it kind of hurts the product of the scenario, because it's an unrealistic signing for these sports entertainment based companies hiring Japanese workers who don't speak English and don't have an gimmick transferable to American wrestling such as guys like The Great Muta may have been able to do. Confronting the situation, here is the dilemma I've been trying to figure out and would like opinions on... Is EWR's Japanese system intended for putting workers based in North America on tour, or for including every worker on the Japanese promotion's roster? What I mean by this is, does EWR play better with no Japanese workers in the game, and was rather designed to have a list of five or six North American workers who are touring with, let's say, a promotion like NJPW? Does the inclusion of every NJPW worker at the time defeat the games mechanics and screw everything up because they are available to North American promotions too? Is the game not meant to include midcard Japanese workers? Does it even need to include the "big names"? There's no doubt that in the mid-90's, Mitsuharu Misawa was a top 10 worker in the world with great "EWR stats". His inclusion in my Wrestling at WAR database is essential, because I believe the user should be allowed to hire him, especially if the user is playing as WSW? But is his inclusion in the database inherently flawed because of the way EWR treats Japan? Should North American promotions not be allowed to hire guys like him? Should Japanese promotions only be showing and signing for tours North American workers? I created a separate thread for this because I would like there to be a conclusion reached eventually, without the discussion getting lost and forgotten about in the main SSTP thread. What are your opinions? Should databases include Japanese workers? Or should the Japanese promotions just show North American workers who are touring with the promotion? My opinion has been shifting towards the belief that Japanese workers shouldn't be included in the database due to their game-breaking risk concerning workers like Misawa and Kawada with great statistics, but no realistic shot at signing long-term written contracts with American sports entertainment promotions. This is a shame because they inclusion is a great addition for someone running a more pure-wrestling based promotion, but perhaps it's just something we can't (or I can't) avoid because that's the nature of EWR.
  9. Does anyone else watch Hello Ladies on HBO? Great, great show.
  10. There is no value to it. As a solution for future addition of tag teams, I suggest the requirement of a minimum experience level needed for the creation of a tag team between two workers. Maybe something as small as 5, while I'd suggest 10. I don't think the addition of recently played out combinations of heels and babyfaces is a bad thing per monthly update, and would require Bill to only look up the last month or two of results from the big companies and add something like Bryan/Big Show to the data with a minimal amount of experience. Obviously the level of experience is completely subjective, so arguments may still come into play, but at least it would funnel out the addition of needless teams. At the same time, deleting teams that haven't been used in ages is another efficient method in cleaning up data and gameplay of scenarios to go along with this new policy of tag team addition.

Its a place where an old-school wrestler can go to keep track of who he can travel with so he doesn't break kayfabe. See also: the less popular Heelbook.

  12. It really is a great find! Did you try Republica? That's a nice game if you want to pass a little time. Super simple, but you can lose really quick.
  13. Laptop real bad. Come back when you have real laptop.
  14. You have to let a bunch of people through each day to make more money. I think your family gets sick and stuff so you have to pay for medicine and heat and food. You get infractions for letting people through you shouldn't have. More seals and stuff you have to check comes up to make it harder. People will pay you money to get through without valid ID's and passports, and you need the money to support your family so you have to either let them through and take the money or not. This is what it looks like pretty deep in it I guess: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHLpqRsQ_xU
  15. This guy makes some simple, fun games. http://dukope.com/ The best is probably Papers, Please; a game where you are the border inspector for all documents of citizens attempting to enter a fictional communist-esque country that has just reopened its borders. All are free to play.
  16. This is good, because Hard Knocks is freakin' great.
  17. The USFL Football Mogul 2012 Simulation League is fast underway already! Download the FREE GAME and join the new online football league! http://usfl.clicdev.com/f/index.php?trk=usfl&act=idx

  18. Those are so ugly i mean I don't know what else to call them Atrocious would be a viable description. They couldn't even use red and blue to represent the conferences? Pro Bowl jerseys are nothing but marketing ploys anyway...
  19. Yeah, OOTP is just like Baseball Mogul, just made by a different company. Football Mogul is the same way, where you just download the latest data file, open it up, and look at your team and everything happening. Expect, this time there is no need to uploading your own .team file and for me to add it on. Instead, you would just post roster adjustments every week, while you can also make trades with people on the forum. I am very, very tempted. Let's give it a crack. EDIT: Although dude, do not wait for 30 people to be interested. Not going to happen and, even if it did, half would drop out in the first couple of weeks. Yeah I'm not waiting for 30. Probably 10. PM me for the link. We almost have 10 actually. And sorry for the post above, a mistake from my post.

But no, the only need for the game is to look more in depth at player stats. As long as I don't have to play the actual game, 'cause damn, it's horrible! I made a trade with my opposing team in the middle of a drive like he just swapped shirts with another guy on the field.

  22. Hey guys, I've created a fictional simulation league based on the free text sim Football Mogul 2012 (from the creators of Baseball Mogul). The game is free to download, so anyone can join. The league is based on rosters from the year 2000 and will go from there. 30 teams available, already have Meacon signed up. PM me if interested. Figured I'd post here since this is where people are talking football.
  23. This set from Sander van Doorn is too good. https://soundcloud.com/bestlivesets/sander-van-doorn-identity-200
  24. I tease I know dubstep is still big in England right? It's pretty much fallen out of favor here in the US unless you're on some crazy drugs.
  25. People still listen to dubstep? Can we just move on to some good 'ole EDM? Mammoth is probably still the best techno/edm song of the year. Animals is also a top track of 2013.
