  1. Well, they are already in Europe and don't look at all likely to be relegated, so they don't have anything to play for really, thus Ramos can afford to mix about and experiment for next season.
  2. O'Hara is best as a central midfielder. That is plain fact
  3. To be fair, he only got the red because of the previous yellow he picked up, so it was (in my view) a warranted yellow if anything. However, the timing and everything was very poor and screamed of appeasement from the refs to the FA and media who, as the article above, are declaring this a travesty of life when it's just emotions getting blown out of proportion.
  4. So, I took on the hotseat that is Newcastle United :shifty; Bit bored from my games and fancied something of a challenge. So, I took over a Newcastle team with injuries and whatnot. Got a pretty big budget as well, although it meant I took a gamble and said I would achieve European qualification through league position, so I'll have to ensure we can finish 5th. Now, looking at previous results (even though it's a game ) and seasons, it's roughly between 58 to 65 points to achieve 5th, so my target for the season is 60 and we can go from there. As for the season, I'm looking to improve three vital areas: DEFENCE: Clearly we need back-up. I mean, Edgar will be good in a few years and Cacapa is not bad, but we need extra cover. An extra Right-Back to cover Bebe over Carr, as he's getting on. We also need a left-back as Jose Enrique isn't near the level required. Already I'm looking at Timothy Atoube and have picked up Petri Panasen and Gonzola Pineda. There's a young kiddie called Raulen from Brazil who, at 4.3m (and providing he gets his work permit) is a steal. Plays for Pontre Preda or whatever it is. Phenomenal right-back. :STRENGTH-IN-DEPTH Well, as cleared above, just adding to the squad. This applies to midfield, as we're in the process of taking Lucho Gonzales from Porto and I managed to pick up a young kid from Tranmere called Dave Wilson who plays all over the park. Young (only 15) but pretty well developed in his mental stats as much as his technical skills and he's got a good level of fitness as well. Time will tell if he performs, but I'm liking his chances already. Emre and Butt I'm happy with. Barton will be back too, so that's alright. Geremi I'm not sure about and may let go in a seasons time. In terms of the wings, I'm going to apply a bit of a Chelsea 5-4-1/3-4-3 formation (ala Mourinho), and have recruited that eternal prospect Jefferson Farfan to hit my left wing/outside striker role. Him and Milner will occupy those wings and bring the ball into the center and act as support and additional strikers for Michael Owen or whoever comes in. And, regarding the goalkeepers, Given is injured and luckily due to the data update from 8.0.2, Tim Krul isn't on loan. So, Harper is gone and Krul will get brought into the team. Given won't last forever and he's got to get the experience. Plus, Fraser Forster can back him up as well. STRIKER: Now, this is a tricky one. I'm tempted to sign a proper, strong striker. However, when Owen returns I wouldn't need one as I'd then have Viduka, Owen, Martins and a nice youth prospect called Fabio Zamberla, a young Italian already in the youth ranks. However, Martins has the clause to be bought out for 13m and Viduka and Owen are getting on, so while Farfan can fill the striker role, what I may do is find a young prospect again and integrate him into the side for the net few seasons. Ameobi won't last either and will be gone soon. I may either sell him on or let him go out on Loan until the contract ends. I'd rather sell him, but I'll have to see. Steven Carr is in a similar boat. Harper too. As said, the formation is 5-4-1/3-4-3 and the starting team as it stands (pending permits and whatnot): GK: T.Krul/S.Given CB: P.Panasen CB: S.Taylor CB: Miranda (from Santos - good CB) LWB: T.Atoube/G.Pineda RWB: Raulen/H.Bebe CM: L.Gonzales/Emre CM: J.Barton/N.Butt AML: J.Farfan/D.Duff AMR: J.Milner/J.Farfan ST: M.Owen/O.Martins/M.Viduka/F.Zamberla So, let's see how it goes. Pre-Season has been promising with good performances and results. However, it's been lower class opposition, so the real test comes in the season. I was going to cancel the pre-season games and go against tougher opposition. However, I wanted to try and not disrupt the side so much and allow the team time to gel, so I kept the games as they are and will go for good performances and fitness before the season begins. As stated before, the target is 60pts+ and good cup placing too. If I can win a cup, I'll make my effort to win the FA Cup. The Carling Cup is all well and good, but the FA Cup gives the players more to fight for in the future. Let's get stuck in!
  5. Do it at the expense of Bristol City and I'd love you forever. I'll even consider buying something Hull-related.
  6. Give it time... West Brom have two games in hand, Watford and Wolves both have one. City also have to play Wolves and 2nd place Stoke at one point. Although both of West Brom's games in hand are actually against Wolves and Watford, so that kills that But, if Stoke keep the results, West Brom get the points and Wolves get results against City, they can get pushed into the play-offs. And we know how shit they are at them Still, if they go up it's good for Bristol as a city and they'll get completely obliterate and shoved back down with a thump, totally and utterly annihilated by the rest of the Premiership, so it has positives As for today, our wonderful new loan signing... is out for the season. Fucked his MCL up. Season over for him. Stupid fucker Oh well... come on Josh Klein-Davies and Sean Rigg! PS: And in news for legends of the Gas, Ollie won a game! Leicester will stay up and become a force of English football soon - trust me
  7. I wasn't a fan of Beckham or Downing (who, let's face it, performs well for a mid-table Middlesborough) on the night, nor did Bentley do much. None of them did. The French weren't great either. I firmly think had it not been for the penalty, it would have stayed nil-nil. It's just that James wasn't fast enough for Anelka.
  8. Confirmed on the BBC Sport website that Bristol Rovers have managed to bring in Jeff Hughes and Wayne Andrews on loan from Crystal Palace and Coventry City respectively, with Sammy Igoe going to Hereford for a month (initially). I'm pleased with Jeff Hughes, as we were trying to get him from January. We can push Lines into the center now, which suits him better and now we might have a better crosser of the ball on our left wing. Andrews I'm a little suspect about, but it's an extra striker, so if it spurs the rest of them on then I'm happy. And he's played a higher level, so it's something. I don't see why we can't give Klein-Davies more of a chance (because he's a nifty little bugger), but it might come soon if given a chance. All good.
  9. The thing is, when Steven Hackett is critizing his own refs in newspaper publications, then we can't get consistancy. The thing with Poll is, even though he is a bit of a knob, he is right about one thing: CREDIT: Telegraph.co.uk If Hackett isn't going to support the refs, then they are going to be continually inconsistent and prone to mistakes. That and his judgment of some refs obviously isn't good.
  10. Ugh... he's just like a pervey dad now
  11. THIS guy as Vega? Kane would have been ten times the awesome >_>
  12. She may look like mutton, but Nina Hartley has a voice to cum to
  13. It's creative license. I mean, no-one wants Hollyoaks to try and do meaningful storylines (seeing as they'll just make it shite), but sometimes it helps to bring a point to a current situation. Plus, South Park is all about social commentary and making fun of the way the world works as it is today. Satire has become as big a part of the show as the sight gags and gay/scat/Jew/Fat jokes are. It's no great departure from what they do - they just didn't fill out the rest of the show with the usual South Park goodness.
  14. I mean forced you to think in a episode of South Park. It's not like you'd are left with any real deep thoughts in your head after watching "Make Love, Not Warcraft" or anything like that. In terms of what program South Park actually is, it was different. As I said, the subject matter may be clouding my mind a little, but I enjoyed the episode a lot for being something different and the message it gave out.
  15. I whole-heartedly believe that was the best episode ever for it's message alone. It had a point to speak and it did it very well. Everyone expected and wanted comedy and they forced you to think. Maybe it's the subject matter that wooed me (probably something a little closer to my heart than AIDS ), but it was a eye-opening departure. Not the usual fare and, honestly, I prefer the proper SP comedy jokes and everything, but when these guys have a message, they make it clear.
  16. I'm going to be devilishly stupid and predict Liverpool win their remaining games and sneak it on the last day of the season. Why? Because I can
  17. Sean Warman & The Twang Man are a local indie/electro/something the cool kids listen too group that are local. I did some temp work with Sean and he's a very nice guy. Great sense of humour. The music is good as well.
  18. Well, if Bristol Rovers had any sense, they'd send Andy Williams up there and let him learn from SPL forwards
  19. It's unfair either team goes through because they both drew both the games. Neither of them deserve it, really. That's just the way you have to decide these things unfortunately.
  20. If you want a real challenge, SD Eivissa in the Spanish Second Division B are an amature team with no money whatsoever. No transfers OR wage budget. It's pretty much no chance in hell.
  21. I would rather West Brom or Barnsley win now. West Brom so we can say we lost to the best team ( ) or Barnsley because it would be nice to see them do it and I can't phantom Cardiff winning. Peter Risdale doesn't deserve success and I don't like Cardiff damnit!
