  1. Based on the last dozen FPS games, war never changes. Surprisingly don't mind, though.

    Minecraft!

Haha, that is a bit creepy. Just started my first World with the new update, and a million thanks to the crew for putting in the better lighting and dynamic shadows. The game looks so much better, and even the default minecraft texture pack is now competing with my personal preference, which is very surprising. Love it so far!
  4. The single player is awesome, but the online is awesome. I haven't had this much fun playing for god knows how long. Level 8 and I'm still grinning from ear-to-ear at some of the things I see happening. I had a really great ending to one match where I found two people that looked like me standing in a group, so I joined it and watched as two of my three pursuers killed the wrong people. It's so rewarding to see your strategies pay off.
  5. What's to hate about Rock Band other than the godawful setlist of RB3, and their equally terrible band spinoffs? And it's not like GH hadn't made games with bad setlists.... World Tour and 5, I'm looking at you, Haha sorry, I was just being sarcastic because it might be a big naughty-naughty to praise RB in a GH thread.
  6. I guarantee you won't find a bigger Guitar Hero fan on this forum... and even I'm glad the pain is finally over. I mean holy crap, the amount of games is exhausting. Well, at least they went out on a high note. Warriors of Rock just might've been the best game; from the songs to the graphics to the actual gameplay, only in competition with GH3. I won't switch to RB though, because that sucks.

    Duty Calls

As a fan of Call of Duty... this is scarily accurate. LOL at the slow motion and "USA A-ok!" especially. Thanks for sharing.

If only you could control saddled pigs. I want to charge through the countryside on my saddled pig. :(

    Minecraft!

Honestly, enjoy it while you can. Once you realise exactly how to stay safe, the game becomes more like 'peaceful' difficulty without the ability to go out at night. :/

Since we're talkin' textures, here's the one that I use: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=77619 The screenshots are awesome, but it's nothing compared to how it looks in-game. It's also easy to use with the latest version, since you only have to drop the RAR into the texture folder and select it in-game. Don't like it? Take it out and no harm done. Been playing the game for a couple of weeks now. I initially went with a 'you die, you delete' approach, but the problem is that I've experienced the beginning so many times now that it's lost it's lustre. I've started making real buildings now (shitty, shitty houses) but I'm so bad at it that I spend three days making a proper shelter and just delete the world out of disgust. I figure myself imaginative, but I need more of a set challenge and goals. I actually tried the Survival Island custom map that I found by following links a couple of pages back, but I guess I want more of the challenges/goals set in the whole world, rather than limiting myself to one area. I dunno... I like to think the other side is always greener. :/

I was lucky enough to watch a bulk of the series before I brought the game. So I only knew what he knew. Which added to the addiction as I wanted to face similar trials and tribulations.. My son came across another series today where it has a father and son playing multiplayer together and helping each other out. If I get my other PC up and running again, I might play a game with my son Could you pass along that link? I'm really enjoying X's and the Father/Son combo sounds like it could be a lot of fun.
  13. These are some recommendations based on what I've played. MoH I suggest renting, since people either love it or despise it. Assassin's Creed 2 Mirror's Edge Red Dead Redemption Burnout Paradise Borderlands Medal of Honor Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
  14. What about? I thought the whole thing was fantastic, personally. Not that I can remember specifics. Is it the length that bothered you?
  15. I'm recalling this from memory (many months ago I last touched the game), either Roman or Kate will die, depending on whether or not you killed... I want to say Dimitri(?). I was gutted when Roman died, I really liked his character. As for this thread, it hasn't happened yet, but it's only a matter of time until I hate myself for entering it. I'm sure someone will wind up getting themselves spoiled and complain about it.
  16. The emotions that someone can feel when listening to him sing, maybe? When I listen to him on 'Eulogy', I feel like I've lost a friend. Same goes for pretty much everyone on my list. I don't care about the vocal range of the singers I listen to, it's mainly a case of the emotions they give me. Brent Hinds from Mastodon and Jimi Hendrix I feel are both shithouse when it comes to singing a song the 'right' way, but I'll be damned if they don't send shivers up my spine at certain times. Besides, as you said this is 'favourite' singers, not best. 'Best' singers would be a boring list full of guys and gals the majority have never heard of.
  17. I must admit, it was difficult to stop myself simply listing the lead singer from my favourite bands. There's a bit of overlapping, because it's kind of similar as picking your favourite band - afterall, part of the reason you like bands is the singing. I think I did a pretty alright job of taking note of the singing without any favouritism. 1 - Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) 2 - James Hetfield (Metallica) 3 - Phil Anselmo (Pantera/Down) 4 - Brent Hinds (Mastodon) 5 - Ozzy Osbourne (Duh.) 6 - Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) 7 - Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth) 8 - Maynard James Keenan (TOOL) 9 - Matt Bellamy (Muse) 10 - Jimi Hendrix (Duh 2x)
  18. 25/30. Not a fan of sporcle, but sometimes you find these rare ones that make you all nostalgic.
  19. I was so excited to get GTA IV, but when I began playing I lost interest immediately. Force yourself to play it, though, because eventually you'll get swept up in the characters and the story and LOVE it. If it wasn't for such a ridiculously difficult final mission (aka driving a helicopter) it'd be one of my all-time favourites. Seriously, will yourself to play it. I got cod4 under advisement of the entire Call of Duty community... the campaign is one of the greatest, but playing online left me with a bit of an ho/hum feeling. Then I played MW2 and it trumped it in both campaign and ESPECIALLY online. Seriously, if you just want fun and a guarantee to kill some people, pick-up MW2 if you haven't. And as for the final category, I haven't played any, but I've heard good things about Just Cause 2, while nothing about the others.
  20. This is the direct quote from the Dawn Marie interview: "Did Vince tell me to take that shortcut? No. Did WWE? No. Why did I do it? Because I thought that's what I needed to do in order to keep up... There was not testing policy." Personally, I'd check steroids just because it sounds like, assuming of course, that she took them throughout her whole WWE career and was doing it for the physique.
  21. Pretty sure Metallica never covered the song. After a quick search, was it these Metalium dudes? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFoNACK3svw
  22. Although it was a live performance of Better Man where the crowd took over the majority of the song that made me 'get' Pearl Jam, it was this video that put them forever into one of my favourite bands category. Given To Fly is my favourite PJ song and the whole video is just magic. Everyone from Pantera seemed to branch out after it's demise, but they all pale in comparison to Phil's band, Down. They've got a ton of great songs, but I never liked Bury Me In Smoke... until this. For some reason it connected with me in this video.
  23. Yeah, I don't understand what they were talking about. I've only played the offline practice, but it's great from what I've seen so far. It's a shame you can't do the whole game on your own (I think), but I guess it is a team-based game. I'm a lil' wary about playing online in any game, but I'll try to give it a shot over the next few days... at least I'll be able to blend in with the other people who don't know what they're doing.
