  1. Better Call Saul has been so out-of-this-world good that, during my latest bout with COVID, I couldn't help but start a Breaking Bad re-watch. I never really re-watch TV shows, but have found this fascinating. I'm midway through Season 2 and I'm astounded by how differently I see Walt. I think, when watching for the first time, you're always looking for a reason to justify his actions or give him the benefit of the doubt because you'll always hope he can be redeemed. But upon re-watching, it's so clear how awful and dangerous a person he is from the off, it's really good. Again, and this is more credit to BCS, I'm finally starting to see them as a part of one big story, instead of two separate entities and it's making me feel stronger about both shows.
  2. the use of Kendrick got me good at the end
  3. It's just outstanding TV.
  4. I have a ticket for the final! Had tickets to the 8-0 but had to give them up because I've been ill. Honestly thought we were poor yesterday, Spain were the better team for the majority of the game, but great spirit to get back into it. Hopefully Walsh only had cramp at the end because she's been phenomenal, her and Stanway are probably my two favourites. Would personally be starting Russo over White next game. I know there's an argument that Russo and Toone are incredible options to have off the bench, but Russo was such a handful yesterday when she came on.
  5. I mean he only get them to 6th this year. They were wildly inconsistent, but there were some good performances. It'll be interesting to see what he does with the squad more in his image - Zaniolo, Abraham, Dybala is a pretty good front 3.
  6. It sticks the landing and more, I'd say.
  7. Considering how quick we've been with our other transfer business, this one has moved so slowly. It's annoying because wing back is such a specialist position under Conte, you'd think they'd want him there for the beginning of pre-season like the rest. Honestly not seen much of him, we need Homegrown players so it makes sense, but hope he has the cutting edge we need at RWB.
  8. I think it should've been a movie, especially because so many of my favourite bits were definitely influenced by Bend It Like Beckham and Gurinda Chadha. I'd agree it's another case of a TV show that either feels like it needs longer, or to be shorter and I just think it could be such a great little movie. Really love what they were trying to do with it, all the best stuff was Kamala and family related, was great to see a different culture represented in the MCU, just once again felt reined in instead of letting itself truly spread its wings. Very excited to see Kamala turn up in other stuff, Iman Vellani is a star - and if Marvel would give the writers even more free reign, I'd be into a second series.
  9. We'll always have last year's away.
  10. this show!!!! it's so good!!!!
  11. I think the bigger problem is that Phase 4 has been largely average, the films haven't been great and the TV shows have been inconsistent. For me, it's certainly less about the next big storyline, it's more about the stories they're telling and the way they're telling them. There's been a mass of content for Phase 4, more than any other phase, and it's largely not hit great heights. I don't mind if everyone's doing a different thing, but when you look at the way they handle GotG and Thor in this film and also Wanda's arc in Strange, there's just a lot of inconsistency across the board in how they're handling their characters and stories. I'll always keep watching, they're easy, I enjoy seeing characters I grew up with imagined, but I'll always hope for better quality content. So hopefully we get back there!
  12. I would just say it felt quite lazy. Ragnarok was inventive and fresh and it felt like Taika's style was kind of bursting out of this Marvel production and, while it's really good fun, I've been excited for so long to see what it'd look like if they gave him full control. But this film just didn't feel...like much really. There's very little in there that felt new or particularly memorable. It was fine, I didn't have a bad time watching it, but with the level of talent involved it just feels like a wasted opportunity.
  13. Yeah, it's weird, I thought he was going to be an incredible, he had a really promising first season, but he really didn't adapt to the wing back position like I thought he would. Hopefully all four of those senior players have moves in the works because otherwise this surely just lowers their value. Was holding out a little hope that Lo Celso might be able to win Conte back over, but should get decent fees for all 4 that hopefully continue to get reinvested in the squad. Been impressed so far, but would certainly like a one or two more, assuming Spence finally happens. Hope Parrott, Gil and Sarr give Conte something to think about in pre season as well.
  14. Was personally disappointed with the new Thor, thought it was fine, but didn't land any big laughs and felt pretty messy. Hope you guys enjoy it, but Ragnarok feels way more like it's own thing than this does.
  15. Season 3. I've been on it since the start, think it's already one of the best shows of all time.
  16. I'm 6 eps in and I'm just in awe of it.
  17. Or the double against Leicester. I think Conte should've given him more of a chance, and he would've been so useful this year with the extra subs, he's definitely a good player. Wish him all the best and thrilled he's not going to another Prem club.
  18. Kane got 23 goals and 14 assists the other season, Suarez did 31 goals & 12 assists, Salah 32 goals & 10 assists.
  19. I actually think he'll do well for Arsenal. He's an upgrade on what they had, suits the way Arsenal play and he is pretty minimal risk for the fee, considering what they'd have to pay for any other no 9. He might not grab 20 + goals (or he might!), but considering the problems Arsenal have had with a central striker for a season or two, I think he makes them a better team. He's also versatile, can play across the front line, so can still play alongside Nketiah. It's very much a weird case where Jesus suits Arsenal better than he'd have suited us and Richarlison suits us better than he'd have suited Arsenal.
  20. That's the part I'd rather they get right anyway. It feels like the show has a proper emotional core and inner conflict. I can take some fumbling of the super hero stuff, because this is setting the foundations for a (hopefully) even better, more accomplished second season / Kamala's future in the MCU.
  21. I don't think either ever sucked but Pattison and Stewart are two of the most exciting and best actors working at the moment and you'd have been hard pressed to predict that after Twilight. It's been incredible for them to separately use their star power to go and work with auteurs and define their careers by just making films that they find interesting. Kristen Stewart's run of Clouds of Sils Maria, Certain Women, Personal Shopper, Spencer and now Crimes of the Future is such an extraordinary body of work. She's going to star in Rose Glass' (Saint Maud) second feature (for A24) and I cannot wait.
