And that's the reason why so many people watch it. The drama category is pretty solid though. Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Mad Men and Homeland would all deserve to win and Bordwalk Empire was solid too, especially the last episode. Mad Men will walk away with the trophy I'd say, and it should. It had a really amazing season and always won the head to head episodes with Game of Thrones in quality in my opinion. Breaking Bad is obviously great too, but not as good as Mad Men. Homeland will probably win at some point in the future and Claire Danes should be a lock for best actress.

How many people watch it does not equal quality and should not equal recognition with awards and nominations. Big Bang Theory is a terrible show at the moment and has been for at least the past two seasons. And even the good seasons of the show should not be nominated for anything, because there are many shows out there that outclass it by a mile.

The Best Comedy category is horrible. The only shows that deserve to be there are Curb and Veep, maybe 30 Rock (haven't seen it). Modern Family wasn't good at all last season, Big Bang is a joke and Girls is alright but totally overhyped. I was hoping that at least Louie would make it, or Parks and Rec (obviously Community was not going to happen).

A buddy of mine has headphones with the same feature and it's really fun for long train rides or something like that. I simply plugged my headphones in as well and we had a blast listening to the same music and discussing it afterwards (we switched players as well so we heard either his or my music). As for what headphones I own... I still have a pair of Sennheiser HD 202. They aren't that expensive and they sound totally fine, although they come with a really long cable that is slowly but surely dying on me. They're good to have around anyways. My main headphones are TMA-1 by AIAIAI and I really love them. They have a great sound quality and the best thing about them (which is the reason why I bought them actually) is that you can simply switch the cable out if it breaks or if you need a longer one when you're using them at home or something. The cable being damaged was always the reason why I had to get new headphones, so no more of this for me!

I'm not a big sports guy myself, but thought this is a nice moment to mention this: My favorite author, David Foster Wallace, has written a piece called "Roger Federer as Religious Experience" in 2006, which all of you might get a kick out of today.

I was one of the people who voted for Ian Curtis and I'm sad to see that he is not higher up. He might not be the best from a technical point of view, but I really love his voice because it is so unique and packed full of emotion. But I'm a sucker for Joy Division anyways, and I indeed value character in the voice over technical ability.

This year everything will change. Although I already know how hard picking my ballot is going to be this year.

So instead of using my time and working on my bachelor thesis for university, I'm obviously watching TV. I've watched the Veronica Mars pilot and, needless to say, it was fantastic. I'm going to buy the box-set as soon as the price drops back down and will marathon this show. Meanwhile, while waiting on Veronica Mars, I finally started watching Treme. Only watched the pilot so far - I went in with pretty high expectations considering that it's made by David Simon, the genius behind The Wire and Generation Kill, and they were fucking met. Amazing pilot, amazing setting, amazing cast, amazing show so far.

I actually didn't like the second episode of The Newsroom as much as the first but I'll still keep watching. Finished with Justified, looking forward to the next season. Regarding Season 3...

I can't remember if I asked this before, but anyway, here it goes. Can anybody tell me if The Walking Dead is worth reading? I've seen the show but I'm not the biggest fan of it. I liked a few moments and episodes but I often found the writing to be terrible. I'd still like to check out the comics though, so without spoilers, what can I expect from them?

Definitely stick with The Wire. It took me a while to get used to the pace (which is not a fault of the show, but a fault of me only being used to other shows), but it's simply the best show that's ever been made, hands down.

Damn you Netflix! I'm watching Justified at the moment as well, got a couple of episodes of the first season left and it is truly amazing and really fun. Just wait until you get to the second season. The first is good but god damn, Season 2 is tremendous. Right you are. Just finished with Season 2 and it really was way better than the first, although that was great too. Here's hoping that you people are right and Season 3 is even better still.

Don't worry guys, he probably only watched the first ten minutes of the two episodes before deciding to judge it. Or he really has no idea what's good and what isn't. Take your pick.

To be fair, it's easier to watch rubbish films if they're funny rubbish films. I should give Fear & Loathing another go but I just got so god damn bored with it that I couldn't finish it. Always a great idea to review movies that you didn't even finish watching.

Indeed I am! I thought it was pretty good, a bit preachy at times but I liked it well enough. From what I've heard critics are a bit less excited though.
