  1. If Nadal wins Australia, would that count as a second Grand Slam?
  2. Dang, was hoping Djokovic postponed Nadal's career grand slam for another year. That pretty much settles the argument of who is better. Nadal's consistently had Federer's number whenever they've gone head to head. He's got the Olympic singles gold medal, and now he's earned a grand slam. He earned it. Congrats to him.
  3. Dan Gilbert had several years' worth of chances to bring an NBA championship to Cleveland with LeBron James, though. He too gets some blame for James walking. Yeah. Right now King James is about as ironic as Stevie Franchise.
  4. Can't be helped, to a point. James was a native son, and the biggest athlete they had. Couple that with Cleveland's dire run at trying to win a sports title, and they get a sympathy pop.
  5. I get it. You're LeBron's biggest fan and he can do no wrong in your eyes. The dude is a scumbag, simple as really. They're not taking that much less money. Wade is getting max dollars regardless and Bosh and LeBron are going to get $96 million for 5 yrs and barring retirement or a catastrophic injury they'll be making $20+ million in the 6th year of the deal whether it's in Miami or someplace else. Essentially they're not taking anywhere from $5-9 million now to fuck over their previous franchises for the next decade. The NBA is NOT stronger having these three guys on one team. People will no longer pay any money to see Toronto, Cleveland and Miami come to town since their cornerstones are all on one team now. 41 road game sellouts isn't going to save the NBA when you consider that Cleveland and Toronto are now dead franchises for 82 games a year apiece. This is awesome news for Miami and that's about it. Yes, Cleveland and Toronto are likely going to fall off the map for the next few years at least; but in the end, if the athlete decides he can do better elsewhere (money or championship, depending on his priorities), then it's his prerogative to do whatever he can to achieve it. David Stern probably should have stepped in when Wade and the other FAs were talking about this "summit" they were going to have, but he didn't. In any case, this Miami Big Three is still all potential at this point.
  6. Aw man. Cleveland So, how long before this Big Three implodes on itself? EDIT: As interesting as it'll be to see if and when that happens, I'll have to agree with sahyder. Wade, Bosh and James have seen how Garnett, Allen and Pierce all got on the same page to win a title. The sucky part is that Cleveland loses its native son to what's essentially (for the time being) Dwayne Wade's team.
  7. If this is true, then the Cavs fans have my sympathies. Strange that the NBA would actually raise the cap, when they're making noise about how much they're losing money and need to lower player salaries.
  8. ...Tony Parker is with San Antonio right now.
  9. Geez, Federer's just 2 games from being out. EDIT:
  10. The NBA would love to have New York be title contenders again, especially since their corporate HQ's there. But the Knicks' glory days were back during the Ewing era. If Walsh and D'Antoni can't get Wade or James to NYC, they're going to be crucified. No argument from me on this.
  11. No, I understood what you're trying to say. My PC conked out before I could add more to my earlier post. If you find it distasteful that they're "treating them like freaks", well, of course they're going to parade these guys around the court. They played waaaaaaaay out of their freaking minds yesterday, just to get to the second round. What are the odds we'll see a tennis performance that's anywhere near what they just did? Heck, what is the likelihood we'll see either man parading around Center Court, with the Wimbledon trophy in hand? Yeah, they could have asked more intelligent questions, but I doubt you'd be able to provide any better, considering you just quickly assumed I "misunderstood" what you said and called me out on it.
  12. Eh, for all we know he could have read the news about how he looked so fresh compared to Isner yesterday, and may have expected to still have that edge today.
  13. And Isner wins it! 70-68 final set!
  14. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU Don't let Italy back in!
  15. So...what are the odds that the winner would be the guy who actually manages to get out of bed today?
  16. Ugh, Federer is letting Bozoljac back in for the third set >.< C'mon Federer, don't lose the third set! EDIT: Yes! Now up 2-1!
  17. That last-gasp attempt by South Africa was such a downer. The goal was wide open till the absolute last moment when a Frenchie manages to punt the ball away
