    Nickelback

I don't mind Nickelback, though that might be cause that's all my mother listens to... "The State" wasn't a bad CD, though. I liked "Old Enough" and their single "Leader of Men" wasn't bad at all. With their stuff after the first CD, though, I tend to be very picky. I like "Animals", "Because of You", "Figured You Out", "Side of a Bullet", "Never Again", you know, the slightly less-poppy music that they put out. I can't stand stuff like "If Everyone Cared", "How You Remind Me", "Photograph", and "Savin' Me". I used to listen to "Rock Star" all the time, but then it started getting played on pop radio, and the way they edited that so not to offend the censors turned me off of that song. I think "Hero" was good because of Josey Scott, although some people hate Saliva as much as Nickelback, which I don't understand.
  2. First CD I ever bought was Prodigy's CD that had "Smack my Bitch Up" on it. Most recent CD I bought was Alice in Chain's "Greatest Hits", cause it was on sale at Walmart for 5 bucks on Black Friday.
  3. No, I'm not going to make a top 100 list, I am just curious to see what everyone's favorite songs that were played on the radio or whatever were this year. Now, with mine (as usual, at least the past 2 years), I am going to list my top 15 songs this year. Yes, I realize some of the singles were on albums released last year (Billy Talent, Muse), but they didn't OFFICIALLY get released (see: have video or cd single) until this year, or they were released so late last year that I didn't have time to say they were one of my favorites last year (released in December). Anyway, enough explaining, here's my top 15 songs of 2007: 15: Linkin Park "Bleed It Out" This song reminds me a lot of "Faint", which was another favorite single of mine by them. Just a very fact, catchy beat. Definitely one of the best songs on the newest album...maybe not THE best, but one of them. 14: Bullet for my Valentine "All These Things I Hate (Revolve Around Me)" Yeah, it was released in UK back in February 2006, so some of you are probably saying this doesn't qualify. However, in the United States, this single was released in LATE November, and those of us in the U.S. didn't really start hearing it with a video until December/January, so take that! Anyway, awesome song, and their new song "Scream, Aim, Fire" is awesome, so the new album should be good, too. 13: Crossfade "Already Gone" The iffy Falling Away album had one or two good tracks, and one of my favorites Crossfade released as a single this year. Not near as good as some of the stuff off of their first self-titled album, but deserves a spot up high, I think. 12: Pepper "No Control" Album came out last October, but they didn't start getting airplay until this song had a video in January of this year. Sounded like Red Hot Chili Peppers, it was another decent song. They also perform well live, as I saw at Warped Tour. 11: Billy Talent "Surrender" The fourth single off of Billy Talent II, released in April of this year, is one of the songs I could not stop listening to. I love Billy Talent, and it has got the BT elements, but there's just something about it that sets the single apart from a lot of the other stuff. 10: Silverstein "If You Could See Into My Soul" I didn't like Silverstein when I first heard them. Too much screaming for my tastes. With their new album, my brother told me to give them a listen again. I fell in love, this is an awesome song. They are becoming one of my favorite bands, and I wouldn't have touched their album had it not been for my brother. 9: Dropping Daylight "Blame Me" The CD was released last summer, but I didn't hear of Dropping Daylight until this summer when they were touring with Skillet at high schools. I missed the performance, but checked into them. Next thing I know, their other single "Tell Me" is being played on XM channel Squizz. Before I know it, they release "Blame Me", and I remember why I bought their album and wanted to see them on tour with Skillet. 8: Muse "Map of the Problematique" Thanks to some posters on this board, I am now in love with Muse. My favorite song on this album didn't look like it was going to be released, and I was a sad panda. Then, in June, when performing at Wembley Stadium, the released it as a live single, and it made me happy. Happy enough to make it my number 8 song of the year! 7: Smile Empty Soul "The Hit" Another song that "technically" came out last year, in late November. However, in bum-fuck where I live, we didn't receive the album until January of this year in local stores, not to mention none of their music was played locally. I think that might be why I liked the song so much, because there was no overkill, I only heard it when I was playing it. 6: Three Days Grace "Never Too Late" Ahh, Three Days Grace. I am prepared for backlash against my liking them, but whatever. They are one of my favorite bands out now, and from March (when it came out) until, literally, right now I still can not stop hearing it, because the pop stations have picked it up. The good thing is, I can't change the station when it comes on. 5: Chevelle "I Get It" I could not STAND "Well Enough Alone". I thought it was horrible, and I thought that kicking Joe out of the band was going to be the end of the band. Surely, I thought, if "Well Enough Alone" was as un-impressive as it was, the rest of the album would be. So, I ignored the album. Then I heard "I Get It", it's awesome, nothing like anything else Chevelle has done. I haven't picked up the album yet, but this song alone has almost sold me on it. 4: Daughtry f. Slash "What I Want" Yeah, I like Daughtry, so what, wanna fight about it? This and "There and Back Again" were my two favorite tracks off of his album, and I just couldn't stop listening to them. Forget "Home", "It's Not Over", and "Over You". This, "There and Back Again", and to a lesser extent, "Crashed", are the songs that should have gotten the airplay off of this album. 3: Buckcherry "Everything" While everyone else was listening to "Crazy Bitch", I was listening to the other stuff on their album. "Crazy Bitch" was such a...I don't know, but I wasn't fond of it. "Everything", though, is one of the best songs on the album. 2: Papa Roach "Forever" Seems like every album, Papa Roach have that one song that people can't stop singing. Admit it, everyone sang "Scars" all the time from their previous album, and although us wrestling fans hear way more of "...To Be Loved", "Forever" was an absolutely awesome song. Not the best, though... 1: Black Label Society "Blood is Thicker than Water" Holy shit do I love this song. When I sat down to make this list, I knew that this was going to be my favorite song of the year. Nothing else even TOUCHED this song. I have liked BLS for a long time, but this song, for some reason, now stands out above everything else they've done. I have this song as a ringtone, as my start-up for windows, I just can't get enough. This year, nothing else even COMPARES to this song's greatness. There's my top 15, hate on it if you want (which I am sure most of you will, but meh, whatever), but don't forget to post your own top 10/15/20, or whatever you want to do. If you want to only do singles like I did, use wikipedia to see your bands singles...I figure most people will just skip by this, but I thought it'd be interesting.
  4. I applied for "I Love New York", but I didn't get picked...which is probably a good thing. Didn't apply for the second season. Anyway, the best obviously scripted reality show on VH-1/MTV is definitely "America's Most Smartest Model", seriously, they make me proud to be of average intelligence. Anyone else watch that? Anyone else notice that in all the little side interviews, they are wearing the exact same thing? They were filmed at the end and told what to say so they could twist the show around it, it's horrible...
  5. http://www.musickum.com/omi/index.php5?username=bradwr' rel="external nofollow"> Yeah, I don't listen to a lot of different stuff, apparently...
  6. ARRRGH, I hate mid-season hiatus! Granted, it's better than it WAS going to be (2 or 3 more episodes, then hiatus until April), but ARGHHH!! I'm glad it's coming back in January instead, one of the few good things about the writers guild strike, cause they are postponing 24. Episode was good, I feel bad for Mahone As for the brothers, I don't understand why LJ is still alive, as sad as it sounds. Since Scofield is no longer needed, they can get rid of LJ. However, now that Whistler is stuck in Sona still, I guess they still kind of do...although, they don't, cause now it looks like Scofield is being transferred prisons. What will happen with Lechero, T-Bag, Whistler, Bellick, and Mahone?? Man, I hate waiting...guess I don't have a choice.
  7. That is my all-time favorite album cover. The best part about it, I think, is the fact that there is a skull in the 8-ball. Not to mention, the nun holding the stick looks totally badass!

    Hurt

I love their first album. I don't think there's a bad song on there, actually. The second album I bought about 3 days ago, simply because I had heard their new single "Ten Ton Brick", but I haven't had a chance to listen to it the whole way through. Since I have this weekend off, I will probably give it a listen then, and then edit my thoughts on the second album into this post. However, Volume 1 is great, and I highly recommend it.
  9. Well, I was introduced to music when I was in the womb. My parents put headphones on my mother's stomach. Also, when I was a baby, I wouldn't go to sleep unless I had music, there's actually pictures of me with headphones as big as my head on laying in the crib. When I was 2 or 3, I was absolutely obsessed with "Sledgehammer" by Peter Gabriel. My parents said I would jump around and dance and sing to the song (well, as well as a 3 year old can sing along). As I got to double digits, I listened to a lot of stuff with my mother, so I heard a lot of George Michael, Heart, Dixie Cups, Joan Jett, Bonnie Tyler, Bon Jovi, and the like. I could sing almost any of their songs to you, just because it's all my mother listened to. Around the age of 12 or so, my friends started getting me into rap. I loved Juvenile, DMX, Tupac, and stuff like that. However, a few years later my sister introduced me to Marilyn Manson. I was like "what the hell is this?" She started introducing me to more stuff, such as Rammstein, Bloodhound Gang, and Korn, and that pretty much shaped my tastes how they are now. Obviously they have evolved over time, as now I am liking Muse, Linkin Park, Chevelle, Adema, and so on so on. Funny story...well, I think it's funny. A few years back, when Savage Garden were getting huge (ugh!), my sister started listening to that. After the music she introduced me to, I was quite distraught, but figured it was part of growing up. A few years later, I have gotten her into stuff I am into (just like I got my Mom and Dad into stuff I'm into), and so I bought her a Savage Garden cd for Christmas. Up until last year, we re-gifted it to each other every year, it was good fun. Never been opened, either, just passed back and forth. On the bright side, though, like I said, the whole family (with the exception of one of my brothers) listens to what I got them into, so I never have to worry about hearing crappy music again!
  10. Well, being the Prison Break enthusiast that I am, they can do no wrong in my world. Granted, there have been some "slow" episodes, but it's all character progression, dammit! Anyway, I thought it was AWESOME! Unfortunately, they are running together in my head, so I don't know what happened in episode 1 and episode 2, but DAMN was it good! New guy getting killed and Whistler getting blamed for it was class. The question is, though, who really killed him? Are we going to find out or are they just going to leave us to think about it? I think it WAS Whistler, simply because the guy knew something about him he didn't want him to. Mahone's whole deal thing is genius, I tell you, genius! He is freaking out, and it's making US freak out, simply because we are with his character. I am just as paranoid as him, thinking it's a setup for the Company! However, I have a feeling that them having talked it down to 4 years will keep him going, unless he goes berserk and kills himself and everyone else. Burrows and Sofia's stuff together is good, I think. Having gone back and watched season 1 again, MAN has Purcell grown as an actor. Seriously, some of his scenes in the first season were hard to watch, but last season and now this season is just showing how much he has grown. The whole LJ thing is running it's course, though. We know he's going to get killed (unless Fox says they don't want a 16 year old brutally murdered, which is possible), so they are just prolonging it until the mid-season break, I think. Was very clever (also, very unrealistic, but meh) how Burrows noticed the three body-bags that just so happened to fall out of the van after the accident. Now Burrows knows that Susan cannot be trusted, but at the same time, he has to trust her to get LJ back. I guess I'm kinda torn on LJ, then, because it's giving us some good stuff. Am I the only one who thinks Susan is creepy? She has bi-polar tendencies, one second having the "happy tone" in her voice, the next "gonna kill you" tone. It's just creepy... Lechero, now THERE is a story line that is picking up. Guard comes in and gives away all of his secrets, and now no one inside the prison trusts him. How great is that? Very good way of getting him in on the breakout, I think. Another good thing about Lechero, is that now T-Bag seems like he is going to have more of a roll than just lackey this season, finally. Did you see the look on his face when the guard said he should have put someone else in charge? He did that thing with his tongue he always does. The only problem? Sammy is turning into a great character. He always looks like he is just in the background, but at the same time he is playing important rolls. Stealing Lechero's cigars, and then giving them to long haired lackey just shows that he is way more of an important player than they are making him out to be. I can see him going after Lechero's spot, too, not to mention his little sibling-like-fights with T-Bag have been quite entertaining. I called Whistler being a member of the company at the beginning of the season, seriously. Right away I thought "why would the company send someone to break him out if he is going to rot in the prison anyway", so I thought it was common sense. Not to mention the fact, he knows Susan's name is Gretchen...what's going on there? And does that mean Sofia and Lincoln are going to hook up, now that we know...arrrghh, too many questions!!! That brings me to Scofield...and I have a problem. I can not take him seriously when he is sad and distressed. When he learned Sara died, ok, the sad walk back to the prison was good, but the crying was horrible, as was his calling out Whistler, in my opinion. The look on Whistler's face was more "are you kidding me" than "what the hell are you doing" type of thing, just because it was so over the top. I'm all for over-the-topness, I watch this show for goodness sake, but I just didn't like that. Other than that, what, 20 minute interval, I thought everything else he did was good. All-in-all, DEFINITELY got me more excited for this season than I have been. Before it was "meh, I'll catch it next week", now its "5 days?? How will I survive?!?" (deja vu, I said something like that before in this thread.)

    Scrubs

So, did anyone else notice during the credits on episode 2, Aloma Wright, the lady who played Nurse Laverne, is now playing Nurse Shirley... Laverne's twin sister's name is Shirley...
  12. Wow, they're breaking out of prison MIGHTY early this season! We're at episode, what, 5? 6?? Already they're breaking out? Each season is 22 episodes, so that means if they succeed this early in getting out of SONA, then the rest of the season is Scofield going for REVENGE!! This episode was good, new guy coming in to add to "Who is Whistler" drama, Burrows finally opening up to Whistler's girlfriend, original breakout plans being screwed up. In two weeks, the two hour special looks like it is going to be exciting. I just wonder who all they are going to have break out with Scofield and Whistler? I can see Mahone, Bellick, new guy who knows Whistler, young 17 year old guy all breaking out, but then what of T-Bag? Spoilers about Fox's rumored plan with this season: Spoiler: Click here to viewRumor is this is going to definitely be the last season. Ratings have fallen, and Fox has decided to put the show on hiatus from January to April again to test The Sarah Conner Files. If that does well, Prison Break is being moved from Monday nights to another night in April. If Sarah Conner Files doesn't do well, Prison Break will be back sooner.
  13. B-Rad

Prison Break Version 3?? I was enjoying it...ahh well.

  14. Interview with Dominic, Wentworth, and Amaury about the shocking death in last night's episode. Interview with the writers about last night's death, as well. Therefore, it is confirmed, they ain't coming back!!!
  15. Good episode, and can't go wrong with a Haywire appearance!! Sucre's back, too, and all it took was the death of a friend... Season's getting good, picking up speed, liking it more than after the first 1 or 2 episodes!
  16. I am going to see Skillet at the local high school, they're openers haven't been announced yet. Last time it was Skillet and Flyleaf with Dropping Daylight and Fair to Midland, and I missed it, so here's to hoping they have as good of bands this time.
  17. I was going to come in and complain a little bit about this season, but then I realized that I have to remember that they are still establishing the characters, so I can't expect a "OMG WTF" show right out the gate. They seemed to clean up the Whistler stuff really quickly, I guess so that he and Michael could start the planning sooner, since they have one week. How the heck is he supposed to come up with a way to break out in a week? I mean, it's not like there's much else to do, but still. The Sucre thing did bug me, though. I mean, I guess maybe he didn't think about her being on the run with a baby and everything, and when Lincoln said something to him he finally thought about it, but it just makes it seem like him breaking out was kind of pointless. At least Lincoln will have someone to play off of other than the chick with the scratches on her face. Overall, it's keeping my interest peaked, however, at the same time, it's sort of letting me down, as I am not thinking "HOLY SHIT, I can't wait for next week's episode", I'm thinking more "well, that was interesting. time for raw, wonder what next week's episode is going to be..." As the guy before me said, I'm going to wait to say whether or not this season is good or bad until they are done establishing the different characters, and we can get to the real meat of the show.
  18. Lacuna Coil and Within Temptation are both girl fronted bands (well, most of Lacuna Coil stuff is fronted by a girl), by they are more considered "goth rock" than anything else. Paramore is a newer band, they are more pop-punk, though. Otep is a metal band, and the chick can scream like most of the guys, seriously. Bif Naked and Halfcocked had some decent stuff, though I haven't heard too much from them lately. Of course, the classics, like Evanescence, Garbage, Hole, The Distillers, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs but I'm sure you already knew about those.
  19. 1. Ralph 2. Marge(yeah, Marge. More-so because anything she does that is crazy is out of character and just that much more entertaining) 3. Grandpa Simpson 4. Comic Book Guy (WORST EPISODE EVER!) 5. Ned Flanders 6. Agnes Skinner 7. Homer 8. Groundskeeper Willie (I'M A MANIAC, MANIAC THAT'S FOR SURRRRE, AND I DANCING LIKE I'VE NEVER, DANCED BEFORRE, YAH!) 9. Milpool.......err, Milhouse 10. Nelson
  20. The episode was really good. I was expecting it to be a downer, but it turned out okay. I realize they have to introduce new characters and create new story lines, so I can give a pass on there being no Sara in this episode (and apparently I will have to for the first half of the season at least, since her name was removed from the opening credits). Of course, there was a girl tied up behind LJ who had the same haircut as Sara, and they did say they have her, so she's just going to be tied up for a while I guess. I love how T-Bag already started kissing ass to align himself with the kingpin. Just like his character, to latch on to the stronger people so he doesn't look weak. Mahone and Scofield teaming up is going to be just awesome, especially if the way Mahone broke that guys neck is any kind of preview for the rest of the season. Those two's on-screen chemistry is just amazing, and I know it will be fun to watch. My one complaint about the episode is, how the hell did LJ get caught?? Seriously, he is in hiding with the renegade group who is against 'The Company', how did that change? When Burrows' charges were dismissed, did he get sloppy and just start using his real name in school or something? They better explain that, at least. From what I got from the first episode, if I interpreted everything correctly, is that 'The Company' wanted Scofield in SONA because the guy behind the wall (who gave the note to Bellick) is a member of 'The Company' or something, and they sent Michael there to break him out. In essence, I guess, now Michael is being forced to work FOR the company. We know that if Scofield helps random guy out, then Bellick (who knows where he is) and Mahone (who won't let Scofield out of his sight) are both going to be involved in a breakout. Overall? Looks like it's going to be an awesome season!
  21. I'm excited. Don't forget about Mahone, he's in SONA, too. I stopped reading spoilers, so anything I put is speculation. What it looks like to ME is that since Burrows and Scofield are off of the hook in the United States, they wanted one to die (Burrows) and the other one to go to jail (Scofield). They knew that Michael would try to escape, thus making him wanted in Panama now, so the Panama police will have to deal with him. Seems logical to me, anyway. Scofield, Bellick, and Mahone working together in SONA? That is either going to be really, REALLY good or really, REALLY bad. I think Scofield and Mahone can pull their genius act while Bellick provides comedy relief. Burrows going after Sara, meh. It just means that for some amount of the season there are going to be near misses or something, and Burrows isn't going to know where Scofield is, cause I don't think he does, does he? Sucre is going to be interesting, just because, what the hell is he going to do? Seriously, the only one who knows where Marie Cruz is, is in jail. T-Bag, I would guess, is going to be transferred to SONA? I mean, he is being held at "county" before being taken to a real jail, right? Again, not 100% sure on that, but I can see him being sent to SONA to join Scofield, Bellick, and Mahone. Undoubtly, we are going to see some new characters, too. With Franklin, Kellerman, LJ, plus the three escapees who died earlier in season 2 gone, they have room for some new people. And is anyone going to go after the 5,000,000? I know only Sara, Scofield, and Burrows know about it, but it's just there, floating in that little lake...
  22. Prepare to laugh you asses off... Ask anyone, and with the exception of their one single "Drowning", no one has heard or they just completely ignored Crazy Town's Darkhorse album. Everyone automatically assumed "oh, the band who did "Butterfly", who gives a shit about them?", but you all really need to go listen to a few tracks on that album, it is actually VERY good. Stop laughing already and go check it out!!
