  1. I saw a commercial for the Crazy Frog last night. He was flying around or something. And there was a little box to the left that said something about an album coming.
  2. Sort of off topic but I had no idea the Vandals did Ball and Chain before Sublime. I need to find that.
  3. The Sickness was one of my favorite albums back in the day. I never listened to all of their second CD but the new track (Stricken) sounds awesome. I saw them when they toured with Chevelle and Taproot two years or so ago. I'll see them in a few weeks, too. Not even really my type of music. But I've always really liked them. I'll probably buy Ten Thousand Fists when it comes out.
  4. Dog the Bounty Hunter is awesome, brah.

    Ska music!

My favorite would have to be Bob and the Sagets playing with Big D and the Kids Table and Mustard Plug. I came home absolutely DRENCHED in sweat. It was a skankin' good time for everyone there. Not just the best ska show, but the best show I've ever seen (besides Badfish. but that doesn't count because nothing will ever, ever, beat that.)
  6. http://www.myspace.com/bobandthesagets Bob and the Sagets. They have four songs on their myspace. - Laissezfaire Run Your Pockets The Line Contagious Positivity River City Rebels - We Will Fight Army Boy Such a Bore Life's a Drag Drunken Angel Die Young Glitter and Gold Big D and the Kids Table LAX Girls Against Drunk Bitches My Girlfriends on Drugs Evil Girl, Angry Girl Take Another Look Can't Be Caught Dirt Lip Apology
  7. John Q is the only movie to ever get me close to crying. It was really sad.

    Ska music!

Anything off of Everything Goes Numb. It's a great album. Streetlight Manifesto are awesome. But I'd say if you just wanted to hear a few songs, try and find "Here's to Life", "We Are Few", "Point/Counterpoint", "Everything Went Numb" and "Failing, Flailing". Those are my favorites. Check out Big D and the Kids Table, too. :-D

    Ska music!

WHOOOOOOO! Ska <3333 The ska scene is pretty sick around here. The best band around here is probably a band called Bob and the Sagets. I could link you to their myspace. We have a nice mix of local ska bands around here. And TONS of the groups with deals and stuff come to the Cafe Metro (Wilkes-Barre, not LA!). Big D and the Kids Table are like, ska legends around here. Same with Bigwig. Anyway, yeah. GO SKA. Bob and the Sagets myspace. Listen to them!

  11. Drowning Pool did a free concert like, four years ago. They rocked. Hard. I'll never forget it. I've never heard anything but their first album. Which I know I loved at the time but can't seem to remember besides "Bodies".

    "This is War"

Good song. Pretty good band, too. I saw them with Disturbed and Chevelle a couple years ago. hevelle blew them away, though. Oh yeah. Good track!

    The Show Thread

Badfish fucking owned every show ever. And that's fuckin' saying something. They are like carbon copies of Sublime. They do it so well. Normally I don't like cover bands but they blew me away. Best show ever. I probably a little bit biased though consdering Sublime being my favorite band ever.

    Reggaeton

Yeah but that really gives me an idea of what the genre is like and it's really just not my cup of tea. I really just not a fan of dance music. It's cool that you dig it and I'm sure there are a lot of other people out there who also enjoy it but it's definately not something I would enjoy. I'm sure I'll end up hearing more of it eventually (I live in the projects. A lot of hispanics who listen to latin music). But I'm not going to go out of my way to look for some.

    Reggaeton

I hate Gasolina with a fucking passion. I doubt I'll listen to any reggaeton. But thanks for answering my question.
  16. Considering a lot of people on this board are heavily into music, I figure we could use a thread to discuss what shows we're looking forward to in the very near future or what shows we've been to in the past couple of weeks. Also, feel free to use this thread as a promotion tool for a show in your area if you know a couple of members might live in the same area as you and they perhaps might be interested in going. Anyway. I'm going to see Badfish (a very good Sublime tribute/cover band) tomorrow night. Strike Anywhere with the Ratchets and Let It Burn (Chunksaah Records) is playing at a different venue on Wednesday (I think it's Wednesday). I'm definately going but I've never heard their music (Strike Anywhere's music that is. I've heard the other two bands and they're quite good. ) I'm also considering traveling for about 2 hours with some friends on Saturday to an all day punk/psychobilly festival/show. Not too sure if I really want to considering I'm not really into psychobilly all that much. Anyway, discuss. (Mods, make official if you want.)

    Reggaeton

    Is that Gasolina song reggaeton?
  18. Good fucking point. How could you possibly put a band with one album on a list like this and leave out the Rolling motherfuckin' Stones!?
  19. I was upset when I saw the Beatles at four. I thought they should have been much higher. But somehow Rage at 3 made up for it. Can't wait to see the final 2.

All I've heard off of that mix is Dillinger Escape Plan and Thursday. Not really a fan of Thursday but Dillinger Escape Plan are unreal. Rise Against - The First Drop Rage Against the Machine - In My Eyes Minor Threat - In My Eyes (I wouldn't feel right if I didn't.) Tiger Army - Power of Moonlite The Killers - Jenny Was A Friend of Mine The Code - Battle On (This band are incredible. If you like punk and don't know them, check it out. Most of you probably do, though) Big D and the Kids Tables - L.A.X The Offspring - What Happened To You Dropkick Murphys - Rocky Road to Dublin Bigger Thomas - Ska In My Pocket Agnostic Front - Peace Evergreen Terrace - The Kids Aren't Alright Sublime - Seed Sublime - The Ballad of Johnny Butt As Hope Dies - Letters of our Existence Bayside - Masterpiece Jack Johnson - Badfish (Sublime cover) Mostly random ass songs I love.

    Fucking Misfits.

I heard Danzig was an asshole too. But when you consume live babies and you're built like SOMETHING LARGE you can be like that. Should have gone for Exploited, ICW. Even if there was no Misfits.
