  2. I've never had a problem with Amazon at all, but I will admit their item descriptions are a bit crap. Never had a problem with CD's off Amazon either....................
  3. I'm hoping the fact that Sheffield United haven't been tipped to achieve anything is a good omen. It seems when we are under-dogs we do well (2002/03 season for example), yet when we are expected to do well, we under-achieve (2003/04 season for example). Warnock has always had a 50/50 knack with signing players. For every Steve Kabba, theres been an Ashley Ward. For every Andy Gray, theres been a Andy Parkinson. For Jack Lester and Alan Wright, we've had Mark Rankine and Iffy Onoura. But, he has brought very very well for this season. I admit to knowing nothing about Andy Liddell and Paul Barnes, but every other signing of his impresses me. Paul Thirlwell is a good midfielder, Leigh Bromby was a highly regarded defender a few years back, Alan Quinn a highly rated midfielder. But the two players i'm most happy to see at the lane are Jon Harley and Barry Hayles. I believe they are real quality signings. Added to the players we have such as Kenny, Kozluk, Morgan, Tonge, Jagielka, Lester, Gray and the hugely experienced McCall and with the awesome Steve Kabba back around Christmas, we have some very good players, and is possibly our strongest team since 02/03. As for the other contenders, Leicester and Leeds have lost a lot of players, and Leeds in particular have signed plenty of new ones. Whilst both sides have some very talented players, to have the whole side over-hauled (mainly Leeds) means players need to have time to settle in. Plus, there's only one team in Yorkshire.................... But seriously, they may well be contenders. Ipswich should not be counted out, they could well make it this year, and even after a poor season last time, Forest arent out of it yet, though it depends on how many they can score pre-Harewood (Yes, I know he left middle of last season - is Johnson still there???). Wolves are another team to mention, but have lost a few players, and I haven't heard of them signing anyone. Sunderland could be there or there about's, but their squad is much changed. Then of course, West Ham have to be mentioned as possible favourites. Then of course, there's teams like Millwall, Wigan and Reading to mention, and their is sometimes a 'suprise package' meaning this could be one close, tough to call season.
  4. To be honest I've never watched that many (though I do enjoy them). I'd really recommend Beyond The Mat and Bowling for Columbine., they are both really good.
  5. Other then a brief spell as England last week, I hadn't played Champ Man in ages. I went on today, intending to continue my old Sheffield United game, but I got bored an started a new game as Manchester United. Had a shit pre-season - good results wise, but I realised I'd much sooner have played some better teams. Got a good pre-season worked out for next year tho Anyway, I've signed Mexes, Rutsgamgee (just can't spell his name) and Aaron Lennon, but i'm trying to bring in a new midfielder. I've had HUGE bids for David Dunn and Kieron Dyer turned down, and i'm going for Carrick now, but if anyone has any idea's that'd be nice.................. I'll try and think of some good players for ya Cortez. Not got the update, but using the original data, Jermaine Darlington is a great player you can get on a free (add him to your shortlist, and sooner or later Wimbledon offer him to you for free). He is awesome, and can play at left back or left wing. Also, after he completes his loan at Coventry, Fillipe Oliveira (sp?) was very good in the first division, so he is worth a stab in the prem, and if you survive the first season Cartlton Cole is a FANTASTIC loan signing.
  6. Garfield Can't rate this one since as it was a kids film, and i'm 17. Only went to see it for something to do for a while. Cinema was packed with little kids and they seemed to enjoy it, so I guess it's a good kiddy's film.
  7. I don't know if this is any help, but have you thought of taking them to some kind of specialist music place/talking to a music specialist (even a specialist music shop), or looking around for similar items to see how much they are selling for? Plus, if you fish around on the net for a while, your bound to find a site (either of the official manufacturers, for specialists, for professionals - I guess we're talking about DJ's here - or some kind of forum) where you can ask about the value of the stuff. There's always yellow pages for DJ's, specialists, people who can value stuff etc.
  8. Even though I was on the recieving end of this, it was pretty cool. Three-way death match on Halo. The Blood Glutch level. I was behind the red base, one of my friends was on one of the ledges that go lengthways across each level (Friend A). Another of my friends was at the other end of the map (Friend B). Me and the Friend A on the ledges both had snipers. After a lengthly stand-off, we both though fuck-it, and lept out of our cover. We both zoomed in with our snipers, and started paning across to see each other. For a split second I cheated and glanced at his screen. I was closer to targetting him then he was me. It was going to be tight, like down to a second MAX, but I was going to kill him. Without moving the curser up or down, I was in-line for a perfect headshot. My finger was just split-seconds away from pulling the trigger, and killing him - when friend B ran me over in a Warthog. I wept like a baby..............
  9. Just a short story, but playing on Knights of the Old Republic with a friend watching. I came across a huge huge pack of 'Albino Kath Hounds' (they hadn't seen me yet). I had no chance of beating them in a close quarters fight, so I chose to throw a grenade. After seemingly spending ages choosing a grendade I carefully aimed at threw. The grenade landed right in the middle of the pack of hounds, and exploded...................and shaved only the smallest slither of health off one of the hounds. The whole heard turned round, looked at my character - their was a short cinemetic pause - and charged. I sat, totally motionless and expressionless for a second before just going 'Fuck................'. Was quite funny at the time. And on Pro Evo 3, my friend kicked my ass all match (I mean totally owned me), but could only score once, before I scored twice in the last 10 minutes (game time) to win. That stories always a classic.
  10. Thanks, for the info and link Matzat, very helpful. How did you mod your PS2 btw?
  11. I would honestly love to play KOC, but I have a few problems - MONEY. I have none. - I have no idea how i'd go about obtaining a copy of KOC, or more importantly, I have no idea how to go about modding my PS2 so I could. - Doing modding will in-validate my warranty, and my PS2 is a bit iffy as it is. And if my PS2 were to break down, and I have to buy a new one because my warranty is in-validated I can't because of point 1. Other then that, I would play KOC at the drop of a hat, even if its only 1/10th as good as you say it is, it'll be kick-ass. But, I'm stuck with Smackdown i'm afraid. Plus im a fanboy mark for WWE wrestlers :ohwell: EDIT - One question. If the game is in Japanese.............how do you understand it. Is their an English language version? (like an option to change the in game language)
  12. I heard Brooking and McClaren were going to be a managment team in charge of England. Didn't read the whole article though, that could be what Jook is saying.
  13. Teddy? Do you mean Alf? (In SelfHighFive's sig) And when did he mention graphics?
  14. Yeah, that is incredibley annoying. To be honest, the only time I go on anymore is when I feel like 'Oh Randy Orton vs. Tajiri' or whatever, and when I friend is over, cos Tag matches are quite fun with friends (that way you get a partner with any amount of intellegence at all). Otherwise I dont go on much at all.
  15. Ok, I have to accept the last Smackdown game was average, and Matzat is TOTALLY RIGHT in everything he says about the games flaw's (Piss poor season mode, huge problems with gimmick matches, poor main grapple system etc), but I dont believe it was as bad as he makes out. I'd give the game a 7/10. I really want longer matches too, but I accept that won't happen, so I accept Smackdown as an acceptbale arcade blast, and it is a hell of a lot more fun with friends. New features and modes look cool, and i'll get it because of those and the updated roster, and is is enjoyable for a quick match (though longer matches would be nice - sometimes I just refuse to pin my opponent to make the match go 10 mins plus, so it is a problem), and I have always got a lot of use out of the game. But my BIGGEST gripe with the gane is its awful countering system. It hard to beat your opponent at all, even on the highest difficulty, just hard to get a move in to beat him. You get huge (like 10+ each) counter sequences, which are cool at first, but get REALLY INCREDIBLY ANNOYING. Your opponent doesn't out wrestle you, he out counters you. It would help if the counters were good, but they aren't. When you take away counter animations that are designed for finishers (e.g. Pedigree's, chokeslams), their are only about 4/5 counters, and they are bollocks. I'm so sick of getting elbowed in the gut or shoving them off me. How about original counters? Just picking one match at random (just because I watched it today) - Edge/Mysterio vs. Benoit/Angle. Edge goes to armdrag Benoit, but on his way over, Benoit armdrags Edge. Later, Benoit goes to do an armbar on Edge (on the mat), but Edge counters and gets Benoit in a body scissors. Those are the kind of counters that should be included, not the shit generic ones in the game currently. Also, season mode is hugely repetitive. So, in summary - Agree totally with Matzat, just not quite to the levels he hates the games. I'd give the last one a 7. - Do enjoy the game more with friends, and for a quick arcade blast, and generally isn't that bad - Do want longer matches, season mode is piss poor, Stats are way out of wack, all gimmick matches are awful, COUNTERING SYSTEM IS THE WORST EVER CREATED!!! - Will get the new game cos the last wasn't too bad, cool new features, updated roster, better with friends.
  16. *takes it you didn't play HCTP But seriously...I'm sure it's gonna be just like HCTP. One is 'The Undertaker' and the other is 'Legend Taker'. And if you mean look wise...current Taker..isn't exactly Old...Deadman Taker. ← *Played HCTP to death I know look wise current taker isn't EXACTLY old 'taker, but their isn't much difference - its just as SelfHighFive said - ever so slightly different costume. Their isn't much point in them both. Thats why I agree with him on this point. They'd barely be a difference.
  17. Jesus Christ man! I've heard of criticising things, but man you literally tear EVERYTHING you come across on here to pieces! In the RAW thread you're criticising every little thing, and now in here I don't recall you even saying that ANYTHING looks/sounds good. ← Get used to that. He's probably a nice guy, but all he ever does is bitch, bitch, bitch. Seriously, ALL he ever does. I actually take his point on Undertaker - how will they seperate them? But I do think the 2 Kane's is cool. One will be the current one, and the other the 1997 Kane with the red PVC outfit, one arm, one glove, mask etc. It will be cool to have that Kane in, and costume wise (and maybe move wise) will be totally different from the masked Kane in HCTP *Original Kane mark*
  18. I used to be a huge fan, but by the time Voyager launched, I was growing out of Star Trek. I used to love Next Generation. Data and Picard are still my 2 fav. Star Trek characters (I seriously love the 'skits' with these two, and both characters friendship growth). I liked all TNG characters though, bar Troy and Wesley Crusher. I liked DS9 too, with its better character arc and develpment. That was another good show. I have seen quite a few voyagers now (mostly cos I just have it on when there is nothing else), and do like that too. I agree, the show became much better with Janeway/Doctor/Seven as major characters. I'm actually in a mini Star Trek revival phase now. Having hardly watched at all (bar the films, and a few Voyager episodes) for about 6/7 years, I watched First Contact (awesome movie) the other day, and that got me back into it. I wanted desperately to watch TNG and DS9 again, but they dont seem to be on over here, so I cant get back into the show, and my revival phase seems to have died out Have watched the odd Voyager in the last few weeks though. Well, 2 episodes.............
  19. No, I disagree, I find the X-Box pad (S-Pad) a lot better then I ever found the N64 pad. The thing even had three 'arm' thingys to grip with your hands, which always got me with only having two hands an all, and things didn't seem as well in reach of each other, though it is a good few years since I last played on one. My only problems with the XBox S-Pad is the position on the black/white buttons and thats it. I honestly have little problems with the pad at all (big hands) Cheers for the advice on games though
  20. Seriously, on the HARDEST difficulty setting? I simply cannot press the buttons any quicker, and was honestly pushing myself a lot, and still I could not press quicker. Thus, for me, it was impossible
  21. Actually, WCW Thunder was always god-awful. I enjoyed Backstage assault for a while, but it's fun quickly wore out. After reading this thread I was actually going to get an N64, some WCW Games, and most importantly No Mercy (I have NEVER PLayed it), as this thread had partly turned me into it. Decided against it, cos I'd feel a nerd with a PS2, XBox and Gameboy Advance as well, and I remember really, really hating the N64 Control pad in the day. Is a minor niggle I know, but still.
  22. No, it was awful. Playing on the Smackdown! difficulty setting, it was impossible to make them submit, and almost impossible to stop you submitting one you had slight damage. I gave up trying to make someone tap months ago. Terrible system.
  23. A few friends keep having a go at me 'cos I've never seen Forrest Gump..........
  24. I've been playing the last Smackdown game a lot lately (Summer holidays = BOREDOM!!!), and I am becoming am little frustrated. I've realised it isn't hard to beat your opponent at all, even on the highest difficulty, just hard to get a move in to beat him. But, I will buy the new game, because despite its flaw's, it isn't all that bad (I'd give the current one a 7), and I have always got a lot of use out of the game. Plus, it is a lot more fun playing with friends, and the new features do look cool.
  25. Yeah, I remember reading this before - its still an entertaining read! Were you planning to continue it at some point? I thought you where - may have imagined that though!!! It would certainly be good, i'm intrigued. Very good story.
