  1. I'm sure the rules where explained to them off camera, or in some kind of disclosure but considering the guy didn't even bother bringing his bag with him, I suspect he didn't have the idol on his persons come vote time.
  2. To be fair, killing of those two characters in a mass slaughter of characters we know would have lessened both deaths if said characters. Each one needed there own send offs, with the spot light solely on them for different reasons.
  3. Bahahahahahahaha. It's like they just wanted to say "FUCK YOU" to Alan Moore one more time. I'm probably extremely misinformed, but I thought the Green Lantern movie went through a lot of rewrites? If thats the case blaming one writer for a poor script really isn't far, nor is it fair to dismiss anything of his future projects he may be working on within the genre. If I am misinformed, never mind then -.-
  4. First off, I apologize for digging up such an old topic, but I just found a video of a contestant of this show that was posted on youtube months before Survivor Caramoan hit the airwaves, and its of one Shamar Thomas. Honestly, from what I can recall from his time on the island, Shamar seemed pretty negative, and was just a pain to watch with his unnecessary mood swings and emotional outbursts, but quite honestly I thought at least some of that was subject to editing and some form of game play, and that he actually was at least either playing his Marine who may be suffering from PTS image up for the camera, or at the very least there was reasons unseen to us for his outbursts on the show but after viewing this video - I can safely assume that the producers just utterly took advantage of this guy. Clearly Shamar saw and probably done things over in Iraq that fucked with his head, and properly adjusting to life back home is, or at least was, out of is control. I know producers in the television business are all about ratings and whatnot, and probably saw a goldmine in this guy, but frankly after seeing this (and since this the age of technology, if there's one video of this nature floating around, there's probably more) I can't help but seem somewhat disgusted. Every time I watch this show now, I, personally won't be able to help myself but wonder, is such an such (i.e. the infamous Phillip Sheppard) just an erratic person, is it game play and/or editing, or are they just simply a mentally/emontionally unstable person being villainized and used for a quick laugh for something they can't necessarily help. Again, I apologize for digging up such a dead thread.
  5. So after seeing Man Of Steel a few weeks back, I finally decided to watch the final season of Smallville properly, and I have to say its been a pleasant surprise. Normally my problem with the show is the writers usually knew how to write an interesting premiere and usually a good finale, it was just everything inbetween always came off aspadding to stop the writers from burning through storstorylines, so I'm glad that isn't so much the case this season. I just got done the episode where voting for VRA happens, and quite frankly I felt like the storyline could have easily been a season long thing, but I understand it was just a tool to ultimately give our heroes hope and morale boost in our they needed it the most as they face there greastest enemy yet. Really, my only real complaint about the season as a whole would be Deadshot. I, atleast found it hard to take him seriously when they had that very odd western themed music play everytime he was on screen, I could forgive the cowboy look they gave him, but that music was just a no-no.
  6. I know it won't happen, but I'd be pretty pumped if they used the Guardian Devil storyline for one of the new films. Mind you, my love for that storyline is highly biased because I picked up the paperback with the entire storyline not too long after seeing the Daredevil film, and it was my first exposure to the comic book character in his original medium. ... Plus, Mysterio.
  7. Speaking of The Punisher, did any of you folks watch the Thomas Jane short Dirty Laundry? It has Ron Pearlman in it as well, and is actually pretty good considering it was done on a shoe string budget and a lot of love for the character.
  8. I watched the first half hour of Elektra in theatres, solely based on the fact I loved the Daredevil movie at the time. Its one of two movies I've ever walked out on.
  9. I'm watching Daredevil, right now, and quite frankly I could never figure out the hate for it. The movie itself followed the pattern of other comic book movies being made at the time (getting as many recognizable characters in as possible, origin story, rock inspired soundtrack), the acting isn't terrible at all. I'd go as far as saying Daredevil was the building blocks fir Nolans Batman, in the sense its dark, gritty, and realistic. If nothing else, it has Colin Ferrell hamming it up as Bullseye, which is always a win.
  10. I'm in a super natural vibe lately, outside Blade and Ghost Rider, are there any other supernatural based characters in Marvel worth checking out? Oh yeah, and forget Doctor Strange as well, I could never get into him, and I dont even think Bruce Camobell himself could change that.
  11. As much as I enjoy Community, I cant help but have mixed feelings, I have no doubt that the show will survive with out Chevy, but the season finale was pretty class, and a proper way to send the show off.
  12. "On any given day, anybody can amaze you" when Probst was talking with Cochran last night and he just pulled out that line out, right then and there it hit me, that is the reason people should watch Survivor, and to a lesser extent, its incestious brother Big Brother. Also, was I way overthinking Brenda's request for Dawn to remove her teeth, or did Dawn just not get it, but I saw it as a metaphore of giving up fate. Brenda said, that Dawn said by finding those teeth that Brenda had her (Dawn's) game in the palm of her hand. By asking her to remove her teeth at FTC, I saw it as a metaphore to see that once again she (Dawn) is once again trusting her fate with not only Brenda, but the entire jury and it appear to go a mile over her head or, I just way too much into the situation. Also, this Boston Rob "the greatest of all time on any reality show, ever" thing is really growing old. Yes the guy played a great game on Redemption Island, but it took him four attempts to put together a game winning strategy, that means he's a three time loser, I dont consider that being the greatest of all time.
  13. I've wanted to see a twist for a while now where we get the old generation of players (lets say, anything up to the first All-Star season) going up against the new generation of Survivors, the game has changed so much in the way its played that I always felt like it'd interesting to see the older veterans adapt to Survivor as it is today. Mind you, in recent seasons you've had BR, Rupert and Skupin all return so I guess that makes that twist kind of pointless. I just want me some more Lex in the Survivor world.
  14. After years of hearing the about the legend that is - I finally saw it this morning, needless to say out of all the "bad" movies from both this era, and eras after it I've seen, this come does indeed come close to taking the cake. For a film whos sole reason for being made is to be a piece of anti-drug propaganda, not including the extremely overly dramatic last act, it sure does make that marihuana look fun. Only in the 1930's would this ever have seen the light of day.
  15. I've been watching Community in syndiction for months now, its actually how I discovered it so I can't see that being an issue.
  16. With Probst's day time talk show finding some success, I've figured Survivor's days have been numbered for awhile now :/
  17. From what I've seen of Superior Spiderman so it, it isn't have bad, and if it was a long term thing is something I wouldn't mind investing in. But then, I keep telling myself at any given moment it could be rebooted at any moment, and right there is the double edged sword - the idea behind it is pretty brillant, but as soon as sales start dropping, it'll just go back to the status quo and nothing leading up to Peter getting his body back will have long term effects :/.
  18. Family reward is probably the best dynamic of the entire game, it gives us insight to whom these people really are, usually reminds us that although they're playing a game and are often edited in a certain way, each and everyone of them are still humans, still have hearts, and most importently, are all equally vulnerable, and depending on hows really playing the game, and whos just lost in the emotion, can be a nice little insight on tribe dynamics. Although I do somewhat agree, the added twist was a bit overkill this season, and not only Brenda, but just about anyone was damned either way with the decision they'd have to make.
  19. If you've got the time on your hands, I'd highly suggest watching Aliens, followed by Predators or vise versa, such a solid block of action/sci-fi right there.
  20. So is it fair to assume yet, that if Eddie and Cochran somehow or another end up going this sunday, that this is offically Erik's game to win? Dawn done a pretty good job of sealing her own fate last night, Sherri after Shamar's exit never, ever had a shot of winning this game and to even hint otherwise would be insane, even going up against Phillip and Dawn (let's say), she'd still lose. Also, its not too often my heart legitimently goes out to someone who gets the boot of a reality show, and this might be love (or lust -.-) playing a part, but I felt completely horrible watching Brenda ball her eyes out last night.
  21. Ive been saying this for awhile now, and I realize I'm probably alone in this thinking, but honestly, I think its in DC'S best interest to stop worrying about keeping up with Marvel when it comes to movies, and look into the television medium more. Although it wasnt't extremely true to the comics, Smallville was a success, if it wasn't, it wouldn't have been on for as long as it was. Arrow has improved alot since debuting. Why not give other, probably less now characters such as The Question for example a run on television, instead of rushing anything other then Batman to the big screen and failing to bring in Marvel numbers. If nothing else, it buys them time to sort there bigger characters out for the big screen.
  22. Exluding the FX show, that was pretty much how the article seemed everything up. Apparently theres already a script outline done, its just a matter of turning in a product thats going to translate well on the big screen, but the way he was talking in the article, even with his other projects taking up time, odds are we'll see a JLD before a Justice League movie.
  23. I'll be rewatching it soon, its honestly been about a decade or so since I've seen it, so I'm hoping for a better viewing experience.
  24. I honestly think alot of my dislike for the Alien movies comes from the fact that my first exposure to the franchise was Resurrection, to be honest, what an awful movie. I saw three years ago, and the only thing I recall from it is that our heroes from Aliens are on a prison planet. After watching Aliens though, I may check out Alien and three again, but now that I am older I can appreciate them, well, moreso part one then three.
