  1. I have one of those cheaper hats made by '47. Mine's held up pretty well this summer, I can recommend it for the price.
  2. Have you watched Star Trek - Strange New Worlds? It definitely has more of a TNG vibe compared to Discovery or Picard. You might really enjoy it.
  3. Yup, I hear the same lines about insurance and scouting the umps over and over.
  4. Just came here to post that. You usually only see fans being scumbags (like the Yankees fans throwing garbage earlier this season) so it's always nice to see a heartwarming moment like that.
  5. Me too - I was really hoping that The Show would come to PC when it went on GamePass.
  6. I went to the Jays game last night, and the Red Sox just beat the stuffing out of the Jays bullpen. Merryweather did not look good, and once the number was crooked Charlie started going to his depth guys like Saucedo, Bowden, and Francis. Still a fun time, though. Keeps up my streak of only ever going to the Rogers Centre when the roof is closed.
  7. My party had no interest in going into the basement, so I described Doru's screams echoing out from the front door of the church as they walked away to end the session.
  8. Session One of Curse Of Strahd is in the books! I had the party enter Barovia in different ways - one received the fake letter asking him to come, while the others started in Daggerford and left with the Vistani. They met up on the road at the gates, where they were attacked by dire wolves. The combat was pretty fun, with the newest player in the group doing a ton of damage with his Circle Of Spores Druid. I also had the sorceror down to 1 hp remaining, but his allies were able to pull them clear. The group seemed to actually like the Vistani... until they met Ismark. Once he told them what he knew of them, the party became very suspicious. The players have been asking a lot of lore questions about Barovia and it's people, and it's been fun seeing them respond to the different answers given by the Vistani and by everyone else. The group helped Ismark and Ireena bury their father, and I was going to have them finally see Strahd there... but we were running out of time so I just had everything get extra spooky as they began to leave town.
  9. The whole offence has started out strong. I just hope Teoscar isn't out for a long time with whatever injury he picked up last night. When he is on, he's just as dangerous as anyone else in the Jays line-up.
  10. If you like watching big-time dingers... ARE YOU KIDDING?! Vlad Guerrero Jr. DEMOLISHES THREE HOME RUNS on the night! - YouTube
  11. We start our Curse Of Strahd campaign (with me as DM) this Saturday. Anyone who has run it or played in it - any tips, tricks, or things to avoid?

I'm excited for it. I've been recording this season of Picard so I can watch it all in one or two sittings. Discovery kind of lost me this season, but I'll go back and give this season another shot when I'm looking for something to do in the summer.
  13. I couldn't resist and bought the new game on PS4. I love the new presentation and announcers. I actually liked the old crew, but it's really refreshing to hear some new voices. Too bad they couldn't have both teams as options so you could flip back and forth. I'm almost halfway through season one with the Rangers. Jack Leiter is leading the AL in strikeouts and wins, and is top 5 in ERA. I decided to get ahead of the trade deadline and sent two pretty good outfield prospects to Oakland for Ramon Laureano. My outfield has been a huge weakness, and since we are looking like wild card contenders alongside the Mariners and Blue Jays, I wanted to fix the problem ASAP.
  14. The Jays opener was a crazy comeback win for Toronto on Friday, and then Sunday saw the Rangers get their revenge. Still, I'm happy to see the Blue Jays open the season 2-1. The starting pitching has not been very good, but the offence has been stellar and everyone seems to be starting the season strong.
  15. I love that. Last Thursday, I got to finally roll ALL THE DICE when I landed a critical hit with my level 9 Oath Of Vengeance Paladin. 2d8+8 from my axe plus 2d6 from Hunter's Mark and 8d8 from a 3rd level Divine Smite. This is an online game using a VTT, so my screen was just completely full of dice.
  16. Yikes! What level were they?
  17. I've suddenly had a strong desire to play some MLB, and playing 21 isn't cutting it. I hope I can resist it, but there is a strong chance that I end up downloading The Show 22 tomorrow morning.
  18. I'm planning to start up a Curse Of Strahd campaign, and one of my players wants to play as a Warforged. What happens if they get bitten and killed by a vampire? I don't think anything in the rules prevents it, but I'm just wondering how I would actually present that to the players.
  19. Blue Jays rework bench trading Grichuk to Rockies for Tapia, Pinto (sportsnet.ca) I love this for the Jays. Grichuk was the odd man out, and while Tapia will probably also struggle for game time in the outfield, he is left handed bat that the Jays have been missing. He also brings a bit of speed, which is another thing the Jays lack. Grichuk should get plenty of chances to play in Colorado, and his power should play well in Coors Field. He was also just too streaky for me.
  20. I always make it a point to watch on spring training game each season. It's like a sign that we are finally getting out of winter. So I was delighted to watch the Jays beat up the Pirates yesterday, with Matt Chapman hitting a home run and looking good for the couple innings he played.
  21. I've gone from having no interest in this season to being very excited in just 24 hours. Adding Chapman is fun, and the Jays rotation is starting to look pretty strong with Gausman, Berrios, Ryu, Kikuchi, and (probably) Manoah. I had completely forgot they had extended Berrios. It was completely gone from my mind until I looked up the Jays 40-man roster just now.
  22. I love the Jays getting Chapman. You'd hope his bat rebounds after a bit of a down year, but he is so fun to watch as a defender at third. Blue Jays could still use an impact left-handed bat, though. Not sure if there is one available though... 👀
  23. I've been playing this off and on while it's been slow at work, and I've been having some fun making Barry and Kendall Windham the most over acts in wrestling in 1995. Anyone else still playing this?
  24. Near Dark is awesome. I highly recommend it.
