  1. Yeah, she has a backstory that she has to follow - she's from a girl band called Kandifloss and their biggest single is "Give It To Me Right Now". As hinted at before, I'd say being on Soccer AM already makes her more famous than Faria Alam. But it seems Rodman is already tryna knob the poor girl. Although she seems so thick ("what's a gynacologist?"), so maybe Rodman'll slam dunk some sense into her.
  2. Here's the Christmas top 10 then: (1 - New Entry) Shane Ward - That's My Goal (2 - Down 1) Nizlopi - The JCB Song (3 - New Entry) The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York (4 - Down 2) Westlife featuring Diana Ross - When You Tell Me That You Love Me (5 - New Entry) Eminem - When I'm Gone (6 - Down 1) Crazy Frog - Jingle Bells/You Can't Touch This (7 - Down 4) Pussycat Dolls - Stickwitu (8 - Down 4) Madonna - Hung Up (9 - New Entry) Girls Aloud - See The Day (10 - New Entry) Coldplay - Talk The number 1 was pretty much inevitable, but nice to see The Pogues getting to number 3. Over the course of 4 days, Shane's is the second fastest selling single ever, bah humbug. Ah well, there's always the next couple of weeks, where sales are traditionally very slow, so there's still a chance for The Pogues to sneek up there to number 1 if people buy it for the new year period.
  3. Bah, Shayne sold 313,000 copies in one day, one of the fastest selling singles ever. He's an absolute cert to get it now. I think I'll buy a copy of the JCB Song and then return it on Boxing Day. I advise others to do the same. >_>
  4. I actually really like Coldplay too, but they don't stand a chance this week, and I think The Pogues are out of it due to lack of copies being available. It's pretty much between Nizlopi and Shayne, and in that instance I'd prefer Nizlopi.
  5. I don't think the record company realised how popular Fairytale Of New York would be - we were sold out by the time I started work on Monday at 12. I wanted a copy too. As for the JCB Song, it's not bad, it has a story and meaning, and it's preferable to the other pap that's going for number one, whether it be just blatantly manufactured crap (Shayne Ward) or a godawful cover (Westlife, G4). Still, would rather see The Pogues there than anyone.
  6. I agree that it's a mainstream award, so it should be pretty mainstream songs that are in it, but the system for getting down to this final ten was totally shite. It was 5 groups of 6 songs and the top 2 with the most votes from each group went through. Fair enough - nominate 30 pop songs that have done well over the year and get that whittled down to 10, but who decides what song goes in what group? IIRC, Westlife and McFly were in the same group as Robbie and Sugababes, so that's why they're absent. And the voting system on the night is so badly flawed it's unbelievable! They do it "Eurovision" style, by going round the different ITV regions and give them points on who's got the most votes. They whittle it down to 5 before they even get that far. So... technically a song could win the competition without actually getting the most votes from the UK as a whole if, say, they get 10 points from a smaller region with less people, but lose out on the regions with more people, but could still get more votes in the latter because of the larger population. Wank system. Not to mention they said charity records weren't allowed (hence no Amarillo), but how does that let the official Comic Relief song by McFly through? And anyway, surely the record of the year (in a pop sense, not on artistic merit) is the record that sells the most copies? Meh, maybe I'm getting too worked up about what, as Benji said, is nothing more than the pop industry and ITV getting off on themselves for the night. Here were the groups BTW: Group A: James Blunt - You're Beautiful Audio Bullys featuring Nancy Sinatra - Shot You Down Amerie - 1 Thing 2 Pac featuring Elton John - Ghetto Gospel Coldplay - Speed Of Sound Lemar - If There's Any Justice Group B: Daniel Powter - Bad Day Sean Paul - We Be Burnin' Charlotte Church - Crazy Chick Bodyrockers - I Like The Way Will Smith - Switch Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For? Group C: Sugababes - Push The Button Robbie Williams - Tripping Jennifer Lopez - Get Right Westlife - You Raise Me Up Pussycat Dolls - Don't Cha McFly - All About You Group D: Katie Melua - Nine Million Bicycles Snoop Dogg featuring Charlie Wilson and Justin Timberlake - Signs Rhianna - Pon De Replay Akon - Lonely Oasis - Lyla Black Eyed Peas - My Humps Group E: Mario - Let Me Love You Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc. Mariah Carey - We Belong Together 50 Cent - Candy Shop Kelly Clarkson - Since U Been Gone Stereophonics - Dakota
  7. That pic doesn't work, but if it's what I think it is, I thought that was proven to be not real, like, somebody dropped water on her or something. I may have to get some evidence though, as what I've just said is hardly a convincing case.
  8. It's the same on the website except for the £3.99 delivery charge, so I guess the store prices are mostly the same. Some not bad stuff on the website, might have to take a trip there at some point. If anyone's interested, look's like Halo on the PC is £1.97.
  9. She'll be lucky to find a PSP before Christmas, let alone at that price - as far as I know, absolutely everywhere is charging the standard £179.99 for them. Whenever we get any in, they're sold pretty much within the same day. PSPs are apparantly cheaper on the continent, but you'll have to pay for postage and you could be liable for some sort of import tax on top of it, but I really have no clue about importing stuff, so I could be wrong.
  10. My bro's had his preordered since they started taking them (think he was the 3rd person to preorder in that store) and he went to check the status of it the other day, and they said he may not get one on the 2nd of December, but may have to wait until the 4th at the earliest due to stock problems - there really just isn't enough to go around. Don't get me wrong, the console and the games look pretty good, but I just feel that MS have just totally rushed this thing out the door.
  11. McFly>Busted If only because they have an actual drummer. In all seriousness though, McFly get a lot of flack purely because of the association with Busted, whereas they are at least 6,359 times better and actually write decent pop music. They sound exactly the same.
  12. Oh, sorry, I'm from Scotland btw. (Y) Is that because of the lack of MKII in the PAL version Benji? Because that's on Midway Arcade Treasures 2, so I'm not bothered.
  13. I'm not normally a big fan of these threads where people ask for help making a decision, but here we go... I need an Xbox game for Xmas, or for my birthday, which is pretty soon after. I'm tossing up between 3: Burnout Revenge, Capcom Classics or Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks At the moment I'm leaning towards MK because I don't really have any other games in that genre, plus I could maybe persuade my bro to play co-op (if I can tear him away from his 360 ). I read the MK thread too, and read what's in that. Although I read the Burnout thread that was knocking about and lots of people are saying very good things about it, also I have Burnout 3 and quite enjoyed it. Capcom Classics is just one that I kinda came across by accident and there seems to be a lot of arcade goodness in there, including Final Fight, which I've played in the past and quite liked. I could also go for some old school shoot-em-ups, but I can probably get a lot of those as freeware on the web. Plus, I've already got Midway Arcade Treasures 2, but it seems to be a different style of game on Capcom Classics. Xbox Live is irrelevant as I never play on it (it's my bro's subscription), so what do you recommend? Or is there something better that I might have overlooked or is coming out soon? King Kong? Shadow The Hedgehog? Already got Half-Life 2 on the PC before someone brings that up. (Y)
  14. I'm looking forward to that game too, anyone know when it's out in the UK?
