  1. What the hell is "The Family Guy"? I like the way they can't find a 10th show to put on the best list, And I don't live in the US, but how the heck is Family Guy packaged as a family show? Because it's a cartoon? Unless they market it differently over there or something. And no shit, CSI isn't for kids.
  2. I wouldn't get one at launch. In the UK at least, Microsoft are telling retailers that the Xmas release is a 'soft launch', with the proper full-on launch coming in Easter 2006. There'll be a hardware shortage because of the rush to get it out before Xmas. I might get one around the time of Halo 3, but there's nothing in the launch line-up that would make me want to spend an outlandish amount of money on it - sure, there's good games, but they'll still be there in the future, and there's still plenty of good stuff coming out for existing systems for Xmas and beyond. Heck, you can probably get about 3 or 4 older games that have slipped under the radar for the price of 1 360 game.
  3. I really don't know what to say. I'm still shocked. The guy was one of the most geniunely funny people the UK has ever seen and will likely ever see. There will never be another like Ronnie Barker. Rest In Peace
  4. http://www.firebox.com/index.html?dir=fire...roduct&pid=1108 Won this in a competition recently, can't wait until it arrives. Have many happy memories of playing Sensi Soccer and SWOS on my Amiga, making up ridiculous new teams and everything. Definitely the best football game ever, exluding Champ/Football Manager as they're management games.
  5. You could maybe see if anywhere is doing a week's rental, or see if any of your friends have it that you could borrow?
  6. Apologies if this should be in the advertising forum, just move it if this is the case, I just thought it would be more suited to here. Anyways, my brother has been organising a PGR2 tournament for a while now, and normally I couldn't care less about things like that he does, but he got some stuff through the post to give away as prizes, and it is certainly not to be sniffed at. Heck, if I wasn't rubbish I'd probably enter myself. The first prize includes 6 Xbox games and some assorted goodies. The second prize includes 4 Xbox games and also some goodies. There isn't a lot of people currently scheduled to take part, so if you're any good at the game you could be in with a good shout of winning this stuff. It's scheduled to start tomorrow (Thursday), but it says that the schedule is subject to change so you may as well enter and he could possibly fit you in. Here's the page, details at the bottom of the page on how to enter: Here
  7. PC demo is out now if anyone wants to try it. It's not bad, but it's a lot more like Max Payne than GTA. Think of it as a very tongue-in-cheek, Mexican version of Max Payne with vehicles and powerups and that's roughly what you're looking at. The demo's very short mind, so it's tough to get a good impression of the overall game, but it's not too bad.
  8. Yep, the starter kit covers Xbox Live for 12 months. Obviously you'd need to pay for your broadband as well, but as far as playing games over Live, you're good to go.
  9. Even although it would probably run faster on the 360 than my PC too, I would still prefer it on PC, as I can imagine using a control pad to play the game being a pain. Still, good to see people who may not have decent PC's can still play the game.
  10. Wow, several of these ex-housemates really should not be allowed out in public. EDIT: Oh the irony - Davina: Well... they're all losers. (Y) 4th place... Kinga. If this crowd has any sense they will boo her ass out of the district. (Y)
  11. Well, I dunno, it's not like you're the highest ranking on EWB or anything... (Y) ←
  12. Indie band Creation will be slamming into the charts soon. Just as soon as we get good that is. (Y)
  13. This is in the Knowledge Base, so I presume it works: /forum/index.php?showtopic=22326">http://www.ewbattleground.com/forum/index....showtopic=22326
  14. Wow, that rocks, I pretty much watch an episode every day. Today's was "How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back" if anyone cares. (Y) But yeah, I would also love for this to lead to more TV episodes.

    Harry Potter

If they enjoy it, then that's fine, I have no problem with them reading it - it's just I personally don't understand why they would want to read a children's book. It's more a "I don't understand why you'd want to do this" rather than a "you're an adult reading Harry Potter, you can burn in hell" type thing. But heck, anything that encourages anyone to read must be doing something right!

    Harry Potter

Just got back from work (Woolworths, incidentally) after setting all the displays and stuff for this up. I've never read any Harry Potter as it's clearly a kids book, and I really don't get adults who read it. We have got so many copies in, it's unreal - about 8 boxes worth. Very little of that is with the adult cover (same with Order of the Phoenix), so you'll have to be quick anywhere if you want one of them. Not to sound like I'm schilling my employers, but it'll be £8.99 until we close on Sunday. I had a sneeky read of the start... the Prime Minister is reading a memo. What does it say? NOBODY KNOWS
  17. Yeah, there's been U2, Caesers, Gorillaz and Daft Punk up until now as far as I know. I think Caesers was just for the iPod Shuffle though.
