  1. Perhaps, but I don\'t understand how it can be this bad. One of the problems I have is that the CPU catches onto my tactics so fast, so I\'m pretty much switching every 4-5 matches. I also have a seperate set of tactics I use for away matches. Looks like I may have found a temporary fix to my problem: Take a lead, then go ultra-defensive and play Rangers-like football. I suck at changing tactics in mid-match, and usually don\'t unless I\'m behind. Helped me grab a shock 2-1 win over Liverpool, the very same team we beat on the final day of last season to secure Champions League football The General: The skin is called Asesino. It\'s supposedly a tribute to the Hand of God goal by Diego Maradona. All I really did was put it in my C:\\Users\\*User Name*\\Documents\\Sports Interactive\\Football Manager 2008\\skins Also, my preferred formation (4-1-2-1-2) and the team that beat Liverpool in my last match Jose Antonio Reyes ----- Klaas-Jan Huntelaar Raul Garcia Rio Antonio Mavuba ----- Diego Souza Miguel Veloso Kieran Lee ------- Lucio ----- Sergio Ramos ------- Daniel Alves Igor Akinfeev
  2. Pacific Theater of Operations II (Strategy game based on World War II). Pretty good, but I liked the first one more. It was simpler (if you can believe that about Koei's games)
  3. With people talking about 07 and 08 in here, I think this should become the all-purpose Football Manager thread, not just 09. Anyway, since I'm here, I may as well talk about my game with Queens Park Rangers. 3rd Season, Champions League bound Finished 4th in the Premiership after finishing 2nd in the Championship in my first season. Grabbed the final Champions League spot with an epic 2-0 win at Anfield. We also won the FA Cup at Wembley 3-2 over Manchester United. Teddy Lucic (who is now a coach with me) had the cup-winner. Probably gonna stay at QPR until I win the title, then move on. Preferably to Italy or Germany. EDIT: I just lost a 4th Round Carling Cup match 10-9. TEN-NINE. WHAT THE HELL?!? I shouldn't be losing matches at all! I have the best players in the world, quality tactics, and I'm getting my ass kicked on the road. How the hell does ANYONE win matches away from home? I can't make this crap up. We followed up by winning 3-1 at home against Birmingham, but I'm still fuming over that game.
  4. 1. Tom Seaver 2. Wayne Gretzky 3. Mark Messier 4. Jackie Robinson 5. Muhammad Ali
  5. Been playing RTK 2 on the SNES Emulator again. Also playing IV as Qiao Mao, trying to recapture my glory days Massive failure on both ends.
  6. Now for my anti-PA exacta. GO RAVENS
  7. Already they're in Cardinals territory...dammit Arizona, BRING THE DEFENSE
  8. Thirded (because TheArsenal said so ). Great effort by Hightower to get into the end zone. Now it's up to the Cardinals defense to shut them down and take'em to the Super Bowl.
  9. Ladies and gentlemen, I present...easy points fail. Nice one Akers
  10. The officiating all season has been just atrocious. I think there have been even more blown calls this season than last. I think it's time for the NFL to reconsider how they pick postseason officiating. As for the game, as an anti-Philadelphia person, I'm loving this at the moment. Warner's done an amazing job so far, and I'm hoping he can finish the job. No amount of biased officiating can save the Eagles now
  11. Substance wins matches. Style wins fans. In the end, it's all about winning matches. (Putting butts in the seats is secondary: Who's gonna watch a team that doesn't win?)
  12. You guys need a backup FB who can do some blocking? Just went out of contract with the West Yellowstone Bisons (owner is selling and pretty much re-signed nobody). I don't care about playing time, just want to latch onto a new team. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=681477
  13. AFC Colts over Chargers Dolphins over Ravens Titans over Colts Dolphins over Steelers Dolphins over Titans NFC Falcons over Cardinals Eagles over Vikings Falcons over Panthers Giants over Eagles Giants over Falcons Super Bowl Giants 31, Dolphins 14 Call it a hunch, but I think Miami's got a few more wins in them. Their miracle run gets stomped out by the G-Men, who repeat as champs
  14. I'm in. Time for McLaren to fail even more than they already have
  15. I got PES 09 (PS2) yesterday, and already I'm not challenged on beginner. However, when I bump it up to Amateur, I get run over, even with Manchester United. Can't get the ball out of my own zone, always under pressure, can't seem to get a scoring opportunity. Having wanted to play the PES games for quite a while and now getting a taste of what I've been missing, should I be worried by the fact that I'm just getting bulldozed the fuck out of on Amateur?
  16. USA regains the Ryder Cup for the first time since 1999 (the comeback at Brookline) :D USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!
  17. Didn't see a thread, so I figure I'd make one since it's a relatively big event in the sports world. After Friday's play, the USA have roared to a 5.5 to 2.5 lead. Friday Foursomes (Morning Session) Padraig Harrington & Robert Karlsson v. Phil Mickelson & Anthony Kim Result: Match Halved (half a point for both sides) Henrik Stenson & Paul Casey v. Justin Leonard & Hunter Mahan Result: USA Wins, 3 & 2 (Match was won on the 16th hole) Justin Rose & Ian Poulter v. Stewart Cink & Chad Campbell Result: USA Wins, 1 up Lee Westwood & Sergio Garcia v. Kenny Perry & Jim Furyk Result: Match Halved Friday Fourball (Afternoon Session) Padraig Harrington & Graeme McDowell v. Phil Mickelson & Anthony Kim Result: USA Wins, 2 up Justin Rose & Ian Poulter v. Steve Stricker & Ben Curtis Result: Europe Wins, 4 & 2 Sergio Garcia & Miguel Angel Jimenez v. Justin Leonard & Hunter Mahan Result: USA Wins, 4 & 3 Lee Westwood & Soren Hansen v. J.B. Holmes & Boo Weekley Result: Match Halved End of Day 1 Scoreboard USA - 5.5 Europe - 2.5 (USA need 14.5 points to win the Ryder Cup, Europe needs 14 points to retain) Discussions? Mockings because someone actually watches this?
  18. With the Brewers in a freefall, Ned Yost is fired as Brewers manager. Dale Sveum takes over on an interim basis in an attempt to stop the bleeding. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/news/arti...sp&c_id=mil
  19. I run an OOTP league of my own. Just started it up again as I had gotten my hands on opening day rosters for the 2008 season. Only problem might be getting people to export rosters, or having GM's who don't have the game itself. I think we could pull off a league for all of us. If there is such a thing, I call the Rays
  20. Thanks baddar Watch, Berbatov goes nowhere and ends up being insanely unhappy at not playing at all...just a hunch. Usually at the baseball trade deadline, all these rumors end up as nothing. Hopefully it won't be the case, but I would not be totally surprised if Berbatov unwillingly stays. EDIT: Boo. I cannot watch the bulletin since I'm not in the UK. Damn Americans and their lack of interest in the game
  21. Question: Is there any place where I could get live coverage of the transfer deadline dealings? (radio site, live feeds, etc...) It sucks being in the US and not having a direct outlet to this
  22. I share justblaze's sentiments. Those girls couldn't possibly be 16. They barely look like teenagers as it is. Let the Chinese Women's Gymnastics Team Scandal begin!
  23. I'm still trying to get 100% in a couple of games. NES Kirby's Adventure (I think I'm at 70-ish% right now) SNES Kirby Super Star (91%, beat all games, but I want to get 100% and I'm missing several things in each game) PS1 Final Fantasy VII (Almost done with Disc 2, have not played in months as I've been horribly underleveled and underfunded.) PS2 Scarface: The World is Yours (92%, beat Sosa, now gotta buy everything else) Soul Calibur III (Damn easily corruptable saves. Damn them. ) I believe that's it. If I come across others, I'll edit.
  24. I just got into the FMLive beta as well...yay? Sadly I haven't been able to play a FM since 2006. Magus is a sad Luigi. *points to avatar and cries*
