  1. You can decline the promotion offer and stay at the level you are at. That's my plan for at least the first time I win the title. Plus once I have a title winning car, I plan on forcing through Very High Merit Payments to boost my cash supply for the step up. Once I have built centres for all components (possibly Epic ones for everything aside from the wings) and have 10Mil in the bank before the end of the season (which will become 30-40 after the Prize money and Next Years Car budget get added to it) then I'll make the step up. I want to get the car to the point where I don't have to any upgrades the next year if possible and still win the title to really give my finances a boost. Driver wise, I let Santa Ana go at the end of Season 4. Her wage demands rose a lot and she has horrible marketability. (i.e. still 5% after four years) Kept Bao Tang on for another two years and brought in Emily Ashwood to replace Ana. She a 2.5 star driver with the potential for 4.5 but more importantly has 95% marketability, which with Tang's 78% and the teams 100% and that Helipad I built in between seasons means I now have access to 5 star sponsors! Making £1.9 Million profit a race now and thanks to one of my sponsors paying £1 million for 5th and above, most races can bring in nearly £3million. Finished 2nd in season five and three races into season 6 I have the 4th best car (with the best suspension) and am currently leading both the Drivers and Constructors titles. Depending on how the next couple of races go I may bring forward my plan to force through Very High Merit Payments
  2. Haven't gone bust yet. They resigned from the Conference in April (though didn't announce it publicly until the end of the season) which incurs a two division drop, they then finished in the relegation zone which turned it into a three division drop, hence Midland League. They've stated that this was done to save money until they can finally get a stadium in Worcester (though the council appear to be waiting for them to drop enough divisions until all they have to do is rope off a field and call it good, they recently voted down the long running planning application despite their own approval committee recommending it for approval because the NIMBYs have been out in force).
  3. Says everything about how the last year has been for Worcester City, they now enter the FA Cup in the Extra Preliminary Round (away at Daventry)
  4. Into Season 5, after a 4th place finish last year I was able to get shot of my Lead Designer and get someone truly game changing in. Wayne Bellows a 3 star designer who only has one skill but what a skill it is, at epic level he has "-1 Risk" which allows me to get a juicy risky great part with no risk attached. After starting the year with the 8th best car I now have the 5th best with three races left and am now 3rd in the championship. I'm even entertaining hopes of making a title challenge next year.
  5. Season two is done. Finished 7th overall, having been 5th going into the last race. Santa Ana failed to finish for the second year in a row after crashing out and William Evans was in the worse car and we'll, he's William Evans. Good news though! With High Merit payments, 7th pays virtually the same as 10th did under standard payments so I was able to upgrade my design centre and build a test track thanks to saving a load of money in the last 3 races. Better news! Turns out I was wrong when I said I had three full years of Evans. His contract ended this year and it's Santa Ana who has another year to run. So bye bye Evans and hello Boa Tang and your lovely pay driver money! Wonderful news! Thanks to Santa Ana's mechanic having the skill Nurse, she won the first race of the new season with the worst car! (Though again , only one component is worst of everyone)
  6. Also for the first couple of races of the next season, focus on getting one car reliable. All your components will be in the 45% area but so will everyone else's. First two races you can score big points with one driver and by the third races you should have a few upgraded parts to dole out and get the second driver up to speed. 3/4 of the way through season two and I'm sitting 5th in the table with Predator. 3 points off last year's full season total, still have the worst car but only one component is the worst of everyone. Have my brake centre and after getting some funds from the chairmen (who, two races after he handed over the cash, loves me as much as he did before) am building a gearbox centre and waiting to see what I get in prize money thanks to High Merit payments before I decided if I'm upgrading my design centre to open up building the other component centres.
  7. Season One is finished. Finished last in the standings thanks to ZRT overtaking me in the last race (thanks to both my drivers failing to finish, my level one factory crippled my chances of getting all my upgraded parts reliability up enough so I decided to chance not repairing my gearboxes on my last stop and it cost me). Factory will be finished upgrading by the 2nd or 3rd race, so hopefully can get a brake centre done before the end of the season. Got screwed in the votes and Very High Merit Payments got approved, which means getting more component centres could be a challenge. Got shot of my test driver thanks to her contract expiring and got a cheaper one in her place with much better feedback. Though that's the only personal chance for this year, Ana's contract ends at the end of the season but will more than likely keep her.
  8. I switched to the 2d engine as soon as it was an option and had no problems with it crashing.
  9. 1. Yeah that's the one. Have already maxed out this year's parts improvement, so saving the cash for the last 5 races and hoping to upgrade my factory and get a part centre (one of the three that doesn't need the factory finished first) at the end of season. 2. He's actually been not too bad so far in season 1. He has all the worse parts/new parts that I haven't quite got the reliability up high enough to give to Santa Ana. He's yet to not finish and only finished dead last of the finished runners once in the first 5 races. 9th in the championship at the halfway point. The staff are going to be the more irritating ones I can't get shot of. All are here for at least three seasons, one of the mechanics is here for four, typically the worst of the two.
  10. Started a new career as Predator with the following challenges: 1. No risky parts "cheat" 2.All Drivers and staff cannot be gotten rid of before the end of their contracts. (So that's THREE full seasons of William Evans)
  11. I think a self imposed challenge is the way to go in my next career game. Possibly as simple as "no building a shit load of risky parts before the end of the season to make next year easier". Maybe trying to keep one driver from 18 to when they retire.
  12. Only because Eddie Irvine will hit him with a chair before he signs the contract and sign it himself meaning he gets the seat instead.
  13. Great news for both nations. We've got the usual moaners claiming it "devalues the sport" but at the end of the day both countries have a lot of potential (out of the two Afghanistan have the better talent pool but Ireland have the better facilities, plus when Zimbabwe continue to hold test status you can't claim Ireland and Afghanistan are the embarrassing ones in the club. Both should be trying to arrange a series against either each other or Bangladesh as their first series. Though apparently Ireland are already talking to England about a series.
  14. Yay At least we've already made one good signing in Stockdale.

    Doctor Who

Yeah that episode was great. Possibly the best of this series so far. Which is shaping up to be strongest series of New Who so far seeing as the worst episode is still a perfectly decent bit of television.
  16. More than a little rich coming from Tony Adams. Maybe wait until you've had one half decent season as a manager before taking a pop at someone.
  17. So if Arsenal draw 1-1 and Liverpool lose 2-0 on the last day of the season we get a play-off for 4th right?
  18. By this point Williams could stick current day Nigel Mansel in Strolls car and not be any worse off
  19. I've seen the rumours linking us to Defoe and filed them under "I'll believe it when I fucking see it". I'll eat a ladies day at Ascots worth of hats if Defoe ends up at the blues
  20. Alonso 's car doesn't even make around the formation lap before giving up the ghost. He's got to sick of the sight of that thing already this season
  21. All time: 1. DS9 2. Angel 3. Buffy 4. Sliders (the first two and a half seasons anyway) 5. Doctor Who Stuff like Only Fools and Horses, Blackadder, Top Gear make the top ten but I love my sci-fi so it's dominates my top five
  22. Or reliable. Can only assume Honda's engines are a lot cheaper than Ferrari's (granted, for VERY good reasons)
  23. From a pure footballing perspective this seems strange, since he's only scored 5 times all season and his side just got relegated to League Two. Surely a move in January if he starts scoring freely in League Two would have made more sense? Unless Utd are hurting for strikers and I hadn't noticed what with their winning the division and everything.
  24. Don't worry guys the Head of the Romanian Tennis Federation has a perfectly reasonable explanation for why Nastase's comments about Serena were not racist! Take a wild fucking guess as to what it is.... Correct! "What I know is that he is a very good friend with Yannick Noah and he played many tournaments together with Arthur Ashe [Noah and Ashe are the only black men to win Grand Slam singles titles] - I'm sure he didn't say something wrong." He has black friends you guys! The defence rests.
