If this is what 2024 Andy Murray is then he really needs to consider calling it a day at Wimbledon. His physical limitations in recent years were always somewhat balanced out by his mental toughness, but this time out he looked like he'd run out of that as well.

As far as personal unknowns go, I had no idea who Sam Campbell was before S16 and now he's responsible for some of the funniest TM quotes I've ever heard and I've actively sought out his live performances as a result. And yes, Nick Mohammed does seem to be doing some kind of character based on the official S17 portraits: (The pedant in me is wondering why Steve and Sophie aren't in alphabetical order).

It's not the most exciting line up, I've heard of three of them for definite and I feel like I should know who Nick Mohammed is based on his credits. It certainly doesn't have the excitement that Julian Clary and Sue Perkins brought before S16 started. Steve Pemberton should be good and seems to be fan of the show, I know Sophie Willan but not enough about her off-screen personality to know what she'll be like. My main issue is I find John Robins to be insufferable, so if he succeeds it won't be much fun, but there is the chance that his arrogance and know-it-all-ism will lead to some humiliation too. I've not heard of Joanne McNally so I will reserve judgement on her. It's also quite strange how there's no "young" comedians, Sophie is the youngest at 36 and every time I've seen her she comes across as being older than her years. There's also no more deserving winner of a CoC than Dara, who I would almost certainly put forward as being the best Taskmaster contestant ever. Although it would have been interesting to see how Mae would have done against him...

Can't believe I forgot it considering it was one of my favourite songs of last year, but Flowers by Miley Cyrus is a response/sequel to When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars. Granted, she's singing it about her ex-husband rather than Bruno, but I think it still counts.

They're planning to make the draft a 2 day event, 1st round picks on a Wednesday, 2nd round picks on a Thursday. They are greatly over-estimating how much people care about the 2nd round. Most fans don't even care after pick 15 in the first round unless it's their team.

No issue at all with scoring as many TDs as you want to, firstly if you want to avoid it, stop them, and secondly there are players getting paid or even contracts based on statistics, and losing out on a bonus because you didn't score a touchdown when you were told not to score because it might upset the other team is bullshit. Anyway, playoffs for the Steelers! Possibly the most undeserving 10-7 team with a 5-1 divisional record in history, but they all count.

I was really pulling for the Pistons because it's evident they're not giving up, and also because the Celtics announce team were insufferable. Also I would quite like the Wolves to have the best record in the NBA. Taking them to OT was proof they're more than good enough not to have this insanely bad record.

Characters, not so much, but a storyline does weave its way into things as time goes on. And it's off the walls crazy. For me, the joy comes from the goal being so obvious, and just gradually working my way through it until it's all clean. There's something bizarrely therapeutic about it.

My top artist was ABBA, because we had a day at work where we played ABBA songs all day, using my Spotify account to do so, and it completely fudged the numbers. Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran and Lady Gaga were the others in the top 5. Top 2 songs were Flowers by Miley Cyrus as it came out earlier in the year, and Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo which is my favourite song of the year.

The scene of HE being carried by Drax was in the movie, but very obscure and easily missed. There's a deleted scene of Rocket visiting him in Knowhere's jail which confirms his being alive, I think Gunn has confirmed that it's canon but was taken out because it broke up the story of the Guardians team being re-configured.

I'd love Chukwudi Iwuji to take over (and they have a perfect opportunity to say that the High Evolutionary was a Kang variant as the higher-ups specifically said he wasn't Herbert Wyndham), but I think Iwuji may end being a James Gunn loyalist and get a big role in the new DC universe which would prevent him from being such a major role in the MCU. The only issue they have with recasting is the Quantumania end credits scene where every Kang variant was shown as being Majors in some kind of costume, and if they have any sense their first act will be to cut that out of the Disney+ version. It's taken a while but he seems to finally be back to his DPOTY form, things are falling off a bit now but the defensive performances at the start of the season were fantastic. I think losing McDaniels to injury has had an impact on that, but thankfully we seem to be able to score a decent amount of points now thanks to Edwards and KAT. I don't see topping the West to last for very long, but hopefully we can get a decent play-off spot. Sorry if that means the Jazz don't get as good a draft spot as a result! And the longer Draymond is banned for the better, and safer, for the league. The annoying this is that the second he retires he's almost certainly going to be one of the most prominent analysts on whichever network pays him the most.
