  1. A friend got me Omega Ruby as an early Christmas gift. Glad to be able to experience the Hoenn region, even if they retcon or "alternate universe" stuff to make things fit. I remember enough from my attempt of Ruby to recognize areas (I think I made it up to the Petalburg gym, because I don't recognize Fortree at all). The graphics look really good, and the whole PokeNav thing is great. I don't care about not having seen all the Pokemon in areas unless you get some reward for it, but I think trading stuff into the game fills that stuff in as well. I moved a bunch of stuff from Pokemon Bank and routes I hadn't been to yet had stuff filled in. One thing I'm glad about is that all the Megastones seem to be obtainable in either version, so no having to have someone get the stone, trade it to you, and them restart the game to get it themselves. Also glad that the Exp. Share is a key item instead of an equipable item. May make leveling too easy and stuff, but I never really cared for grinding forever trying to get the EXP bar to raise a tiny bit every time. Ended up going with Treeko because there's no reason to use Torchic and the Swampert Mega didn't seem as appealing for a story run. Currently my team is Sceptile, Mightyena, Exploud, Pelipper, and Hariyama (from the Slakoth trade). I originally planned on using Slaking, but decided to try something new with Exploud. Just beat the Fortree gym and that's where I stopped thus far. Got a nice secret base on Route 11, atop the dirt ramp above the sandstorm area, that is a nice shape and size, and took part in one contest thus far (don't see myself doing them that much still, but they look a lot better with the new graphics).
  2. Does anyone else on here have the Galaxy S5 phone and had issues with push notifications?

  3. Yep, apparently you can view trophies won from that in the trophy section. Ended up narrowing it down to Robin and I now have the challenge completed.
  4. Got everyone unlocked. Only thing I can think of is that one of the has a score but I didn't actually beat the final fight. Really don't feel like going through to figure out which one it is right now either
  5. So I have every character in Smash listed as having a score in Classic mode, but I haven't gotten the challenge completed for "clearing Classic with all fighters." So I have absolutely no fucking clue who I haven't "cleared" it with, or if it just needs to be at a certain difficulty.
  6. Apparently it's gonna be Normal/Flying with No Guard as the ability, and Beedrill gets Adaptability.
  7. Yeah it's a pretty neat little feature. I hope they come out with a purple one, but I can't wait to see what the sounds/music stuff will be like.
  8. Unlocked all of the characters now, and there's some favorites or ones that are interesting enough for me to want to try out. -Rosalina & Luma (two characters to fight with in one, plus if you can set it up you can juggle enemies between the two), Bowser Jr., Sheik, Ganondorf, Samus/ZSS (maybe less so on Zero Suit), Palutena (wanna try her more with moves that counter/avoid rather than straight on attacking), Robin, Little Mac (despite using his side B off the stage on multiple occasions), Charizard (really like that it is just Charizard and not the three starters like Brawl), Greninja, Duck Hunt, Ness (who I couldn't really use in other games for some reason, but the Lightning attack feels a lot easier to use here), Captain Falcon (never used him in other games unless it was through random, but I really like him thus far), Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Shulk, Pacman, and Mega Man. That said, I tried using Sonic once and did terrible so I won't ever be using him I don't think.
  9. There's the normal Smash where you can play against up to three computers of a varying difficulty (1-9) or with people locally, you can do battles online, there's challenges you can do (at least 2 panels worth thus far, each with 35 challenges I think), there's a few mini games (one is like angry birds where you have to hit a bomb before it reaches 0 and explodes to destroy stuff, the old home run one, a trophy rush thing where you destroy blocks and can wager 6 gold coins to add an additional second to the time you're allotted (up to 2:30 I believe), and another minigame that I can't recall... Then there's a Classic mode where you can choose a difficulty from 0.0 up to 9.0, with anything above I think 2.0 costing gold coins (the higher the difficult the better prizes you can get; it's basically five or six battles that you do, and your character runs along a pathway before each with you getting to choose which path you want to go down so that you get a different battle depending on the path. This is also where you can fight the Master Hand, or if the difficult is high enough Master and Crazy Hand at once). Then there is an All Star mode where you fight everyone on the roster in groups of generations or something (like, games that came out in 19XX-19XX and such). The whole getting to customize actual characters with equipment and moves is pretty neat, even if the moves thing only has two other variations for the specials slots. Like I had mentioned, I was interested in the game but not sure about it, and a friend constantly badgering me about getting it. It's pretty fun thus far, though, even if I still suck at recovering to the stage and pulling off the move I want at rare times.
  10. I'm still trying to find a good control set up for this. I'm trying to get used to using Y as the jump button, but I still just hit up on the circle pad too much. Pressing X+A to do grabs seems fine enough for me right now, but I may try using the right shoulder for that to see if I can handle extended play with my hand in that position. Also, other than his side B that has made me just lunge off the stage to death on too many occasions, Little Mac is really fun to play as. Also enjoying Robin, Wii Fit Trainer, and Pac-Man.
  11. Ended up getting Smash for 3DS today (partly out of interest, partly due to being constantly bugged by a friend that I should get it). Only actually paid $9 since my friend gave me a $10 off any Gamestop purchase coupon and I traded Watch Dogs in, since I hadn't touched it in months probably. Thankfully, you can change the control setup completely. I changed the shoulder buttons to X and Y (since those are both jump, and using the shoulder buttons that much in a game is just awkward for me). It seems pretty nice thus far; I played the demo enough where I feel like I could just pick this up every so often. I like the customization for every character thus far.
  12. I don't think it's even just Destiny, though. Like, Right now I can load into the game and make it to the first thing you gotta do at the Tower (get your armor from the person of your class or whatever) but before I could collect it all it said it was trying to connect to the Destiny servers. I go to the dashboard and I'm disconnected from Live. Nothing else using the wireless has a connection issue. I'm probably going to go and get another ethernet cable to just use a wired connection. I had the same issue with Payday 2 a month or two ago, but turning the Xbox off and on would always fix that and I wouldn't run into any problem the rest of the night.
  13. A friend got me Destiny as an early birthday/Christmas gift and I still seem to be suffering from disconnects constantly. I was fine during the opening mission but once I got to the actual "being online" portion I was just disconnected for no reason, and I couldn't connect again until I just let the Xbox sit for a few minutes. Has anyone dealt with that before? Fairly sure it isn't the modem since nothing else I use that uses wireless has had any issue.
  14. IT'S THE WORST BECAUSE I SPENT AN HOUR TRYING TO CHOOSE A TOWN TUNE AND FLAG. The new villagers I have are Pecan, Papi, Antionio, and Grizzly, and Patty ended up returning from my previous town which is surprising (I know they don't actually return, but I got her again so I'm pretending ). I like and kind of am unsure of the town layout; the event plaza is right above the town hall and the town hall is right above my house, but it's more the river design and where the villager houses are I guess. Like, I'm not sure if it's a good design for putting in public works projects? I dunno. If I make it a week I'll keep the design as is instead of starting a new game, though.
  15. So, uh, I traded GTA V in yesterday to Best Buy ($20 vs whatever Gamestop would've given) and I may have gotten Animal Crossing again.
  16. Might depend what days you do it, Sousa, but I could look into it to try.
  17. Thus far: The warlock's ability is nice, but takes some getting used to due to it not going exactly where your crosshair is and instead kind of arcs and eventually plummets a bit close to you. The grenade is okay, but I'd imagine it'd be better for when enemies are in tight spaces and would remain in the area of effect. the jump ability is pretty sweet, though. The Hunter I liked running and pressing crouch to do a quick slide and meleeing enemies. I got the sniper rifle from the loot thing during the opening mission and loved it. The grenade is pretty nice as well. The jump ability is pretty basic but definitely useful. EDIT: Unlocked the Hunter ability and it's pretty nice, but definitely something you need to be sure you can pull off within the following few seconds. I think I may actually like the Hunter more than the Warlock currently.
  18. ...it's an FPS. Left trigger aim, right trigger fire, A to jump, X to interact, etc. Identical controls is hardly an argument for it playing exactly like Halo. Like I said, there's a Halo vibe with certain things, but overall I think it's shaping to feel quite different enough than Halo ever felt.
  19. Well, I think it plays differently enough from Halo. I haven't really gotten too into the story so I don't know, but gameplay wise I'd say it's different. I mean, it's still an FPS so there's only so much you can do. It's just certain things remind me of Halo is all.
  20. There's definitely a Halo vibe there - mainly because it's Bungie - from the whole "alien race fighting against Earth" thing to "mysterious artifact" to the Ghost thing having Guilt Spark qualities (mainly I just see Guilty with the eye, but meh). Still, having a few different classes to choose from is nice, the UI I really love (moving a cursor around instead of cycling up/down through menus works rather well on console), being able to choose whether to play a mission at level on normal or a higher level version on hard, and getting to just join up with random people in the area to work together for a mission make for an interesting game. I did another mission a bit ago before Xbox yet again disconnected me, so I'll try again later. Might end up just starting an Exo Hunter to at least try it. I doubt at this rate I'll even be able to reach level 8 with my Warlock before the beta ends.
  21. I'm hoping they add a bit more customization with characters (it's still good as is) and maybe getting to select a voice for your character (though I can understand if that isn't an option). Also, what's the level cap on the Beta, anyone know?
  22. Only played the first mission earlier before the Xbox disconnected me from live (seriously getting annoyed with it, because it disconnects me fairly often the first time I boot up the Xbox a day, and I have to shut it off and turn it back on before it's fine) and I just did a mission with a friend before Live cut out again (seems like it may be down in general, as it won't connect me back on at all despite my internet being fine). It seems nice thus far. I definitely see some things and instantly think of Halo (the Ghost reminded me of Guilty Spark). Not that it's bad, but I think I'll be doing that a lot since it's Bungie. My first character is an Awoken Warlock, and I think I'll make an Exo Hunter and Human Titan at some point as well to try them out. I'd imagine the game would look even better on current gen, but on the 360 it still looks really nice, environment wise.
  23. Yeah, I found it funny how X and Y had the whole buzz about "worldwide release on the same day! thing, but Japan still gets all the events while everywhere else gets barely any in comparison. I understand why, but still.
  24. The ribbon thing is fucking daft. If people want to trade away they should be able to. I can breed a Meowth for you if you want one Apsham. I think it's just a way of trying to get everyone to actually go out and acquire the events or something. It kind of sucks because some people can't go to get the event Pokemon, and then they are sort of punished I guess because then those vents can't be traded and such. I don't know. I love the games but there's still some stuff about them that annoy me.
