Alright I bit and bought it and downloaded the most popular current day mod on the workshop. I've booked a random Rampage and then copied TK's booking for Collision.

So first impression is that it is very pretty, especially when compared to TEW.

I LOVE the angle system. It needs more things added to it but I think the beats idea is great.

It is very easy to play.

There's a lot more that could be added to it to make it a bit more in depth but all in all I like what I see.

One thing that shocked me at first was the fact that I thought I couldn't loan workers from NJPW or anything but you can just filter to NJPW or CMLL or whatever on the booking screen and use all their workers - really user friendly. I also love that signings are instant. Serena Deeb was missing from my roster and I wanted to use her on Rampage so I was able to go out and sign her.

Also it will probably me minor for some people but how good is it to have a real calendar instead of "Monday, Week 2, February 2024"?

I wouldn't say that it is on par with TEW yet but I think with more development time it will leave TEW for dead.

EDIT: I just discovered win/loss rankings. I think I'm in love.

I've been considering buying this, I love TEW and play it most days but modern day mods are far too bloated and inaccurate, and it really is clunky to navigate and play at times - I've just got used to that over the years.

Would you say it's a worthwhile purchase in your brief time playing @RazorsEdge?

It has it's own clunkyness to it, mostly due to features not fully added/intergrated yet, it's very much in a sandbox phase right now, although I think in the next update money will actually be starting to be a factor and you could get fired or buy out promotions, currently you can just go into debt and nothing happens.

It’s simpler than TEW and that’s something that I’m going to have to get used to but I don’t think simple is a bad thing. Personally I would like to see more stats added instead of just one wrestling ability stat but eh. I’m not sure how else to describe except to say it flows really well, especially when you compare it to the relative “clunkiness” of TEW. Booking is straight forward and can be done either by drag and dropping or double clicking workers and it makes booking way quicker. In an hour in PWS I probably accomplished what I would in two in TEW. Because it isn’t Visual Basic it runs and simulates really quickly.

It isn’t perfect but I think it is very strong, especially knowing that there’s going to be more to come in the future as it gets worked on.

I would say grab it because you will know in two hours if it’s for you or not and can get a refund if it’s the latter. Hope that helps.

I'm about to make Ole Anderson the happiest man in professional wrestling. The son of a bitch might even smile.

The financial update just dropped.

Most importantly there is now a 'pop' sound when the day is done simming :shifty:

Also it seems to be running a bit quicker and smoother.

If anyone is interested, I'm working on a mod for PWS, a reboot of the NWA Domination concept, starting in 1990, I've got the database mostly sorted and it's mostly fixing and expanding on things now. It should be playable but there isn't much graphics for it yet, you can get my BUMP packs on the workshop and they should work for the most part.

Download: NWA Domination 1990 (Build 2)

I have a minor gripe - the game is too easy in parts. For example signing workers. Villano III Jr. was on a PPA contract with CMLL and I (as AEW) was able to sign him away and put him in development first shot. I feel like CMLL should've at least countered me once or twice. And I'm not 100% sure on this but I think the AI only books tag team matches if the title is on the line, you don't see any regular tags. I'm sure they're things that will get better in time though.

Considering picking this up myself.

A few of questions - If I were to book WWE;

Can you run WrestleMania over 2 nights, as is the norm nowadays?

Does it have MITB properly integrated into the game?

Are there any glaring match type omissions?

Can you book one show and ignore the other brands without much of a penalty?

How far back do show histories go? If I'm 3 years in, can I go back and check results from a random SD show?

Can the PPV calendar be altered once you've started a game, by adding/removing events on the fly?

It's definitely got me interested. I doubt I'd put a crazy amount of time into it but it's under £20 and the fact it's somewhere between EWR and TEW sounds like a good thing.

In the data I use WrestleMania is already setup for two nights. Basically for events you can set them to be like "Second week of January, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday" and have a whole WrestleMania week if you really want.

Does it have MITB properly integrated into the game?

Um kinda? You can have a ladder match with as many participants as you want fighting for the MITB briefcase but actually cashing it in you'd have to use your imagination a bit. You could, for example, book Seth vs. Drew and have a winner then book an angle for Priest's entrance and then another match for the title again with Priest in it. Or you could book Seth and Drew to a draw and then make the second match a three-way if you want to simulate Priest adding himself to the match.

Are there any glaring match type omissions?

Not really. I had to add a dog collar match but it is so easy to add matches that it isn't funny. War Games is in for example as are casket and stretcher matches. Also AEW's Casino Battle Royal.

Can you book one show and ignore the other brands without much of a penalty?

I mean you can use the auto-booker. I can't speak for how good it is because I haven't used it but I would assume it would produce serviceable shows for you.

How far back do show histories go? If I'm 3 years in, can I go back and check results from a random SD show?

So for show histories you go to the Global menu then click Event Histories and there is a big calendar that you can narrow down by promotion and go through and view every show that's ever happened.

Can the PPV calendar be altered once you've started a game, by adding/removing events on the fly?

Yes it takes like half a dozen clicks to add an event. In addition basically ANYTHING can be modded on the fly. The full editor is available at any time so even if you want to add workers to the game that aren't in your database you can do that in a minute or two.

It's definitely got me interested. I doubt I'd put a crazy amount of time into it but it's under £20 and the fact it's somewhere between EWR and TEW sounds like a good thing.

Hope that helps you make a decision.

A beta of the ReVerse mod, which is a conversion of TEW20's CornellVerse is now available on the Steam workshop. All the worker pics are new, AI generated, and look really good in my opinion. I haven't had the chance to test it out yet but it looks good.

It WAS available on Steam, it got hit by a DMCA notice so gazwefc took it down to avoid getting sued, strange when Ryland had said it was find if it was not for financial gain, and after he had supposedly DM'd gazwefc to ask him not promote the PWS aspect on GDS (he was showcasing the AI images he was creating for the project that could work with TEW and used PWS screenshots).

EDIT

You can find the ReVerse Discord here if you want more info
