Best Game Intro

Simple enough; what's your favourite video game intro sequence? Regardless of how good the game is.

I'm fairly confident that anyone who's played it will agree with me, Dawn of War HAS to be up there.

They so have to make an entire feature length film using the same techniques they made that with, because it was fucking awesome (despite the fact that Angelos' battle cry sounded more Ork-like than most Orks ).

I defy anyone to come up with a better intro.

Only one that really comes to mind is the beginning of GTA: Vice City, with the drug deal gone awry and everything.

Well the intro was ok, but the rest of the in-game movie sequences were absolutly amazing as well.

Metal Gear Solid 3.

For it, I would classify the first "mission" which really don't stand for that much action from the players point of view, but really gets you interested in the games story. Plus the sweet ass Snake Eater music video is GOLD.

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - Snake jumping off a bridge is badass

Final Fantasy VIII - I love the music playing and the fight between Squall and Seifer was pretty sweet.

Kingdom Hearts - Really liked this one for some reason pretty good music and nice scenes

Soul Reaver. Even though it's a PSX game, the intro sequence is still my favorite in all games I have played.

Final Fantasy III....come on, you start off as one of the bad guys!

GTA III with the SWERVE~! to start things off. That and MGS2 convinced me to get the PS2.

MGSII and MGSIII were good openings, I can't remember MGSI at all. But the one that sticks in my mind is the intro to Three Lions for the PS1, it just made you want to pick England. Even my Welsh mate wanted to be England after that, and it had Hundred Mile High City by Ocean Colour Scene. Quality.

I like the whole of the FF9 intro, then again, I love the whole game.

But the FF8 cinematic intro is absolutely mind blowing for me. I remember the first time I watched it and being amazed by the graphics, and the music still stands out today.

Command and Conquer Red Alert 2. Seeing all those Russian troops landing in America and the sheer number of paratroopers falling in. Amazing.

I really liked one of the FIFA Football ones. Can't remember which year. The one with Ronaldinho, Henry & Del Piero playing under the helicopter spotlights , Kings Of Leon - Red Morning Light playing.

FF8 was really one hell of a rocket busta for me! Its the only RPG intro I liked(since I only play a handful of RPGs) the intro movie of Suikoden 2, was good..but it would have been kick ass if they made it into how they made their suikogaiden intro movies.

MGS 3's snake eater intro was good too. The MGS 1 where Snake was swimming towards the area and the part where he takes out his diving suit to reveal a bond like outfit(when you finish the game) is also a good intro to me.
